I witnessed the gathering at Sengre Community School in Upper Mendi that was attended by Nali and Oneil. Mr Oneil presented K100,000.00 to the organising committee including the traditional dancers and another K2 million for various projects.
Mr Nali's speech was brief but the punchline was that with his voter population base of 23000, he will try everything possible to 'get his coat that was now being worn by Isaac Joseph'. It made some of us wonder if the Mendi Open seat was his birth right.
The guy has no sense of guilt for the fact that he's done literally nothing in terms of tangible development and providing basic services to help improve the people's quality of life for the 15 years he's been the loca MP.
He even shed few tears at this gathering and from the way his stupid supporters reacted (by weeping openly), they will blindly support him.
Johnson Levi, Nali's tribeman and former election manager for SHP has already done the ground work by inflating population figures in the common roll from LLG wards from Nali's area.If nothing is done about this before the elections, it is sad and unfortunate to state that he's likely to win. |
