Will we Hulis always be puppets of Exxon> are we capable of electing a REAL leader?

Exxon must be having a great time in PNG whenever there is trouble they've learnt they can just buy people off. Buy off the silence of the pollies, buy off the people with some compensation money or whatevers. Every Huli leader turns out to be a mouse in disguise, maybe speaking out against the resource plunderers in public but then making deals with them behind the scenes.

Any ideas out there what Huli leader would actually stand up to Exxon and not become their pamuk like all the rest of our leaders in recent past? Who amongst our people actually has the guts to give Exxon the boot if they continue to take advantage of us?

Look at how people live all around Hides if you don't believe that Exxon is the boss of the Huli people these days and the people are the humble tea boys and tea girls, willing to do anything Exxon asks them as long as they get their pamuk payments first. It is the most pathetic thing, here we have a world class resource project that will be running the whole country yet on our own land we're like poverty stricken peoples and begging Exxon for anything that falls off their big feast table inside the barbed wire fence.

I could not think of a good time the Hulis will start to learn new things by start respecting and understanding each other.

The Huli man has a attitude problem that they do not want to listen to or respect teach other, even their leaders too. Therefore, when there is a very important time or moment to make decisions for their long term journey into the unknown future, they seem to differ in their own opinion and consequently ended up doing the stupid thing.

If the Hulis have mobilized and had one common vision and mind before they go and sign the BSA & LBBsa Agreements in Kokopo, then I beleive they would come up with something desirable for the HELAS future.

But the ugly thing that transpired is that the Honorable Governor Anderson Agiru and the elected members of the three electorates were on one side with their personal interests while the landowners and the other educated elites on another which created divisions and consequently Agiru blindly signing the LNG Project very cheaply without understanding the importance of the project and the impact that will have on the Hela people and the country with such one sided agreement.

Anyway, with smart leaders being elected into the floor of parliament may bring in some hope into the faces of the people of HELA for the future.

Hela the Loosers

SHP did not like Agiru, the Hulis continuously voted the dreamer into Parliament for 15 years. The whole SHP people stayed loyal and dreamt with their leader - Agiru, there were more ground breaking ceremony in SHP than any other province in PNG.

The the Helas have done it again, voted in their favorite son Agiru to lead them into well, I don't know where this time, all known destination have been already promised...SAD!! But Agiru will find a dreamed up fantasy somehow!!! What an idiot Hela people call leader.

But again how will the Helas know better, half of them are landowners and they are also dreaming of owning jets and villas made form marbles and glass oops!!!

Good luck to Helas. SHP will be bloody better off without you mops.
