April 21 2012 at 6:47 PM
From News Reporter to Analyst

Olgeta Chuave and interested,
More research work underway during the last 3 weeks and the results are asthonishing. Standby for the update. FYI, we are carrying on to this page. If you are still interested to view all conversations re -chuave open potential candidates, pls visit initial positing by Nius Reporter.

Below TOP 5 as @ March 30 2012, 1:38 PM.

1. Teimai Timothy Komane
2. Yauwe Riong
3. Wera Mori
4. George Goi Mume
5. Jim Nomane

Everyone out there, this could be the race for the 2012 Chuave Open Seat for the coming election. The selection criteria were outlined for each candidate as below:

1. Timothy Komane
-A leader in West Elimbari
-Bigname in West elimbari Siane, and Chuave Central. Has contested many elections and has many cronies and supporters from all over chuave
-Has humour and is gentleman -can listern to small people as well as big people. His presence disperse all negativities and gathers people like bees
-Can talk and convince people
-Has integrity - does not spoil his name. He is careful in all his dealings both in secret and public.
-Been with the People and he knows what the people's wishes are
-Does not bribe people to vote for him during his past elections
-Since West Elimbari lacks basis services -a block vote from his ward and surrounding wards will decide their 2 on this man.
-He is sure to collect 2 and 3 from all over chuave and Siane
-His rival Philip Kon Digan has stepped aside so this is a better chance for Timothy

2. Yauwe Riong
-Former MP
-Has been in politics for long like Timothy Komane
-Has devliered some services during his time as MP -now the Chuave Hospital was his 'brainchild'
-His comeback has sent clear signall that he will improve road conditions and service delivery in Since wide. His plans for road bypass from figobaro to Laya and Gomia were in process when time catches up for new election -people are having high hope for that when he comes back to power
-Has cronies and supporters all over chuave
-Has highest base vote in Siane
-So many people are contesting in Siane, he might miss out on 2 & 3

3. Wera Mori
-A bigname in Chuave Central and Simbu including entire Highlands region
-A leader with the capacity to manage his company well -can do for Chuave too
-Has been playing so much money -people say 'kaikai na givin'
-Should be on the top of my list but just because his company has some allegation on the Highlands Highway Rehabilitation Plan -he sadly dropped. This is a national issue and people in the remote villages and those who do not have access to the media are unaware of this issue so still he is a choice for 2012
-Does not have big base vote
-His challence will come from Kumo Peter Launa -once Simbu Governor. Peter said, when he was the Governor, it was Wera Mori who teamed up with Joseph Onguglo to oust him so now is time for payback

4. George Goi Mume
-A Bigname in east Ealibari
-Has contested past elections and has cronies and supporters all over chuave
-Has to work hard to win votes 2 & 3 from chuave wide
-Like west elimbari for Timothy, he is the choice for East Elimbari

5. Jim Nomane
-Current MP
-Has cronies and Supporters all over chuave but now many candidated from his base votes are raising their hand, however still has the chance to collect 2 & 3
-His the man for O'neil's Party in the come 2012 election. He was out of the top 5 but since people are now looking towards the O'neil givernmet -he made his way back. He will be pushing for free education & health care in the O'neil party's policy if he make it back to parliament.

Top 5

April 25 2012, 10:21 AM

To all you Chuave, this could be the race according to information collected from Chuave -Wide. The research has taken nearly a month to complete. The findings are outlined as below.

Top 5 on the race.
1. Wera Mori
2. Michael Dick
3. Teimai Timothy Komane
4. George Goi Mume
5. Jim Nomane

The selection criteria were based on number of wards/LLG, Total Candidates contesting per LLG and supporters views.

1. Wera Mori
-A bigname in Chuave Central and Simbu including entire Highlands region
-A leader with the capacity to manage his company well -can do for Chuave too
-Has been playing so much money -people say 'kaikai na givim'
-Has been dishing out so much money lately. People from all over chuave have come and go as individuals & in groups to receive.
-His home is right at the Gateway (Whitehouse), hence this puts him at the spot of attraction especially for those who need money.
-Like any other intending candidates, he has been on the front line assisting in funeral services, and other community related issues
-Has come to the top of my list regardless of some allegation on the Highlands Highway Rehabilitation Plan. This is a national issue and people in the remote villages and those who do not have access to the media are unaware of this issue so he is the choice for 2012
according to people interviewed so far
-Eventhough he does not have big base vote, he is sure to collect from all over Chuave
-His challence will come from Kumo Peter Launa -once Simbu Governor. Peter said, when he was the Governor, it was Wera Mori who teamed up with Joseph Onguglo to oust him so now is time for payback. However, from the gound work, Peter's Clan (Komogam) of Kamare are fed up with Peter's lies during his term as Governor. Seems that they all moved to Were Mori.
-He is sure to collect Most 2's from Chuave Central which is made up of 13 wards.
-Of course will definitely collect 2 form other Wards with his buying votes strategy

2. Michael Dick
-He has made into the top 5 form nowhere. The ground work into Siane took so long to conclude which most people interviewed had shown their support for Michael Dick
-He has been a big name in Siane as well as Chuave & East/Weast Elimbari
-Has contested past elections and has supporters and cronies all over chuave
-Siane having the highest Population in Chuave electorate and is made up of 27 wards, he's ward made up of 1/4. He has a solid block vote.
-Having learnt from previous mistakes, he had been putting his foot, hands, eyes and ears where he had never done before expecially in Siane wide.
-Among many intending candidates for Siane LLG, he was tipped for 2012.
-His challenge will come from Current sitting Member -Hon Jim Nomane & Former Chuave MP. Mr Yauwe Riong
-Among the many potential leaders of Siane, Michael Dick was tipped for outstanding leadership at the community level.

3.Timothy Komane
-Philip Khon Digan has NOT stepped aside. The Geologist said he is "Contesting the Chuave Open 2012"
-This will give a real challenge to Teimai Timothy as both are from the same Ward.
-There is a big split in the East -West Elimbari LLG which currently has Wards 1-16.
-The number of Candidates sprouting up especially form West is alarming. This places a big threat to Teimai Timothy. His has dropped to 3rd place.

4. George Goi Mume
-A Bigname in east Ealibari
-Has contested past elections and has cronies and supporters all over chuave
-Has to work hard to win votes 2 & 3 from chuave wide
-Like west elimbari for Timothy, he is the choice for East Elimbari
-He still maintains his position.
-To place this Candidate on the forth place took so many ground work. He could be a on the third place according other sources but this will depend on how many 2's he would score from the Chuave side.

5. Jim Nomane
-It was a race between Yauwe Riong and Hon. Jim Nomane for the 5th place on my list. Sadly Yauwe Riong has dropped and Jim maintains the post.
-Additionally, Jim has a down-to-earth character which most people interviewed expressed their 'easy to talk to' attitude towards Jim.

All, please feel free to put up your opinions for debate. I will give another update after I collect few more outstanding information. This time, it is likely that there will be some changes to my ratings.

Re: Candidate Listings

April 26 2012, 5:28 PM

This is a good suggestion. I personally think the list would not be finalised or disclosed from EC until after the Issue of Writs (18th May) and before Polling on the 23rd June. However, if someone can do as you suggested, that would be awsome.

Unbelievable! I quote you: "Has come to the top of my list regardless of some allegation on the Highlands Highway Rehabilitation Plan. This is a national issue and people in the remote villages and those who do not have access to the media are unaware of this issue so he is the choice for 2012"

Unbelievable! He's obviously doing something shady, probably corrupt, and that seems to mean nothing to you. Or maybe I'm misinterpreting your words and you do not support corrupt candidates but are simply saying the people of Chuave are too ignorant to know who is corrupt and who is not, and thus could easily vote a corrupt person into office?

Please explain yourself further!

Thanks.

Wera Mori not corrupt

July 2 2012, 7:19 AM

Wera Mori is a man of outstanding calibre. He has taken a stand against corruption in the HHRP project that is why people have false allegations against him.
Let me tell u something about him. On one of his contracts, he was overpaid an amount of K3mil. And u know what he did? He returned the cheque the same day and asked just for his small fee.
U do not say someone is corrupt unless u have evidence. And if ur dealing with men who av contributed more to the country than u, u shud know ur place- YOU ARE A SMALL BOY.

Strong Family Unit

April 30 2012, 4:48 PM

We need candidates with good family unit. If a candidate is able to manage his own family well, than he is able to manage the other families.

Winning Chuave Open seat is to manage many families. If you are not capable of managing your own (one) family, what guarantee is there for you to manage many families.

Do not be a dreamer. You must know the back ground of whom you vote.

Kon Digan and Timothy Komane's To Communicate

April 30 2012, 5:06 PM

The only hope for the people of West Elimbari to win Chuave seat in history is non other than this election. We bet on only one candidate to win. Either Kon Digan or Timothy Komane to win. If both of them are contesting, our hope would be diminished.

We the people of West Elimbari beg you twos to communicate and let only one to contest. If both of you are contesting, you are denying our wining chances.

Gai yal I agree with what you have said but I think it won't happen because Mr Timothy komane is known as "Mr sanap" and he will never say yes and step down.He think that contesting for chuave open is his birthright .On the other hand, Mr Kon Digan will never step down too because he is a highly Educated man and he will Never bow down to anybody. The situation here is that both of them will never step down. Therefore, the people of west Elimbari need to have an open forum in public places like Gogo market or Wangoi and chose one of them or just foget both of them. By doing this i belive that the people of West Elembari have a chance to win 2012 election.

White Horse, I totally agree with you. Neither Timothy Komane nor Kon Digan would step down. I therefore, call on all leaders and voters of West Elimbari to openly choose one of them to contest, if West Elimbari wants to have a chance to win in 2012.

IF BOTH OF THEM ARE CONTESTING, THEY WILL DEFINITELY DENY THE WIN FOR WEST ELIMBARI AND IT WILL TAKE MAYBE ANOTHER 20 YEARS.

LOL,
What is your point other than the grammatical correction?
Most points raised on this blog reflects Komane as a winner. So far his chances have not materialise, hence the nickname as MR. SANAP. Geologist Kohn Digan is the dark horse for this election and does not get a good ref compared to other Chuave candidates.

To me it may imply that we the bloggers are using different pen names and grand-standing our candidates.
West Elimbari now have the chances to vote in a simple guy for the grassroots and that is Geologist Kohn Digan. We should all rally behind him.

Bonstone, Kon will have a good chance if ONLY Timothy Komane steps down. However, from my observation, TK is not stepping down. He was the runner up last election and he thinks that this election is his chance of winning. Kon & Timothy are cousin brothers and they need to have a consensus to have only one contest.

West Elimbari has no MP since colonial days (1964). This election is their chance and they bet on either Kon or Timothy.

Disadvantage of Kon is that he is a first timer. Advantage of TK is well known and has supporters all over Chuave.

IF KON AND TK ARE GENUINE LEADERS, THEY SHOULD PUT PEOPLES' INTEREST FIRST AND ONLY ONE SHOULD CONTEST.

Timothy Komane Progressing in the last 3 elections

May 7 2012, 3:05 PM

Timothy Komane is likely to come home this election from my observation. He came 5th in 2002, 3rd in 2006 by election and SECOND in 2007. He scored well over 2000 votes from Kebai to Kautabandi an history for Bomai (Whitehorse)backpage man to score such votes from Chuave the most advanced LLG.

You do not expect a first timer to score well. Timothy Komane has been with the people in good times and bad times since 1985. He is a tribal leader of Yorogu.

Education and money can not buy someone a leadership. Leadership is earned over a period of time through various testings. You have to be accountable to God, your own family and the people in order to be a good leader. If you are unaccountable to your own family how can you be accountable to the people. Think Again!

Re: ANY EVIDENCE OF GRAND CHIEF SOMARE STEALING?

May 22 2012, 10:51 PM

I know of no evidence of him stealing - only son Arthur is the thief.

The Barnett Report of the 1980's showed Somare to be involved in corrupt dealings with his Sepik logging company. It was recommended that he be prosecuted for this corruption. Of course, hardly any top shot in PNG ever gets prosecuted for anything and Somare got away with it.

What Michael Somare is most guilty of is the managerial incompetence that allowed corruption to truly go out of control. The Ministers all around him were stealing and he didn't seem to know it - he appointed one wantok after another in important government jobs and many of them started stealing too and not once did he sack anyone or even call for investigations. He was as much a do nothing PM as I hope we're ever going to get. But it caused the tragedy we see today in a once rich country where the majority of people are getting miserably poorer by the day, while the multinationals such as ExxonMobil get richer and richer off our PNG resources.

It's getting worse, not better.

Timothy Komane & West Elembari

May 8 2012, 7:47 PM

Well. Plesman you want to hear more, Last(2007) election Mam and Damagu Had very dangerous battle related to the electron of so call leader of Yourogu Mr Timothy Komane. Resulted in so many lives missing and properties where demage. He never bring peace or say any thing about this matter and he was living in Port Moresby since the last election. So many leaders from this are not whit him. Therefore, possibility of getting vote in these area is limited.

Looking closely into Kenogu rest house is not possible for TK to score. All the youths And the leader of this tribes are supporting the Geologist Kon Digan. I head that latter mother is from Kenogu.

For the Kenaimaina people they will not let both of their tribes man down.Having this in mind, i think that the tow candidat will share the vote equally. people of Kenaimaina know how to vote and never in history fighting for politice.

In Giriyu rest house the very close Friend and the dieheart supporter of Tk is currently Contesting. Most of the people around this area are political and tribal enemy to Timothy and his people.the possibility of getting vote is Also limited.

Finally, I heard that he joined the old Dog and the Grand Chife of PNG If it is so then he will not collect the vote district wide where he used to. Thus, the Comming election Timothy Komane the good leader of Elembari will not make it to the top again.

White Horse for your information, Timothy Komane went home and gave some money to Mam people as compensation for the fight. He gave money village by village from Dirom to West Boarder (Mor) and reconciled with the Mams. When he goes home this week, he will reconcile with the Damagus. He also gave headpay to Kenogus village by village from Wiri to Barasu and reconcilled with his uncles (Konogus).TK's mother is also from Kenogu.

38 Billion Kina Candidate

May 17 2012, 5:19 PM

I heard that a candidate from Elimbari contesting the Chuave Open seat is going to play THIRTY EIGHT BILLION KINA (K38 BILLION). This is the talk of Elimbari today.

Moreover the candidate is going to buy SIX BRAND NEW LAND CRUISERS, an investor from China is going to supply 500,000 (Five Hundred Thousand) T Shirts, caps and arm bands bearing the candidate's name. Every poster distributed will accompany a K100 note. The candidate will charter THREE (3) CHOPPERS (HELICOPTERS) for the election.

AMAZING! IT HAS BEEN CIRCULATED THROUGH SMS. IF YOU KNOW SOMEONE FROM ELIMBARI ASK THEM TO FORWARD YOU THE SMS.

Dreamer, if it is true, the entire 35,000 people Chuave would be overnight millionaires.

Let's do the calculation: K38,000,000,000 / 35,000 = K1,085,714.

I WONDER WHETHER OUR BANKING SYSTEM IS ABLE TO CONTAIN SUCH HUGE MONEY.

GOOD LUCK!

Looking for a Leader

May 22 2012, 8:08 AM

You beloved Chuave people out there. Election 2012 is the golden opportunity to look beyond the cultural boundaries and think nationally and globally. Some people are assessed to be excellent for the little things they do at the local level but not so good at the national level. We need people who are inteligent, innovative in thinking, have the drive to lead others at the national level and have the cunning ability to bring the much needed services to Chuave. We need a true leader, not just anyone, to fight at the national level and bring home a bigger bite of sustainable services to the district. Look at the history of achivement for our former members below;

Yauwe Moses - High school
Numoi Kaupa - Chuave Tarven (now non-existent)
Robert Yabara - nothing
Brown Sinamoi - nothing
Yauwe Riyong - new haus sick
David Anggo - nothing
Jim Nomane - nothing

History tells all, only one sustaibale institution of service which was brought to Chuave by an illiterate (not formally educated) man is still standing today which benefited thousands of people for many generations and will be for many more generations to come. Others were either stupid (and longlong) and lacks the brain capacity to think rationally or were just plain ignorant and just didn't care.

Over to you beautiful people. Please think and choose wisely your next LEADER.

Re: Looking for a Leader

May 22 2012, 11:43 AM

Yaeh is right on the ball. Chuave has gone back 40 years. The state of our District is far worse than it was 40 years ago in pre-independant times. Riyong was trying to rebuild the district hospital but never got it completed due to lack of competency to function as an MP and leader for Chuave. All the other former MPs were kicked around in parliament and never made an impression, always hiding behind someone smarter than them or were hiding under different color skirts and day dreaming. The lack of services to the district level has forced the rural people to resort to all sorts of means to make ends meet. This is definitely leading to a complete break down of society. We a need a true and selfless leader to rise up and go on an aggressive rescue mission. It is never too late but it may well be too late if we don't get it right this 2012 election.

Re: Looking for a Leader

May 23 2012, 8:47 AM

Observer, I was born at the haus sick, educated at Elimbari primary 'T' school and Chuave High School right thru and lived a simple life in my village for 42 consecutive years before I moved on. I am currently living outside but return twice a year to the place I love and call home. I was a kid when Yauwe Moses was our first representative to parliament. By the time PNG got independance the following services were well and truly established and functioning at Chuave station, the district head quarter.

1.Police station and lock up facilities
2.Local and district courts and services with resident magistrate
3.Bank (Agency for PNGBC)
4.Post Office
5.Savings and loan society
6.Fully facilitated council chamber (Agugu & later moved to the station)
7.School inspectors
8.Fully serviced hospital
9.Fully equiped District Municipal services
10.A well serviced market facility
11.Agricultural and forestry stations for rural services
12.Recreational facilities.
13.Radio/telephone communication system available to public.
14.Several businesses including cxl at Aimo & Brown Egnie at Waramai.
15.Budgeted and regular maintenace of roads & bridges (Elimbari to Siane ring road, Gogo/Giriu road, Kepai road A Gunn road and Kau Basis road.)

In all the general layout of the station can be comparable to any modern landscaped garden. As kids we always looked forward to come to the station and enjoy whenever we had the opportunity. My biggest question is why did the former members did not have a sense of pride for the heritage and chose to ignore the instinctive call to maintain the well established services. Their ignorance have cost us dearly.

Can someone restore the District to its former glory days? Yes I believe we can. Due to successive governments failures entire PNG rural comminuties suffer but sure Chuave can be a little smarter then the rest. I pray our people to make wise decisions in finding a better leader this time. I challenge the incoming elected member to lead and restore our lost pride.

I'm a first timer in this blog and 'm very surprise to read that most of the bloggers comments are made for or against the Elimbari's leader Timothy Komane. You are entitled your opinions and I respect that but why is he being mentioned over and over in your blogs.
We in Simbu never heard of somebody doing well in his election without money like this guy Timothy T Komane in his consecutive elections. Please, find out why the people of Elimbari are putting their money together come every election and fighting the election battle with other Chuavians heavy weight and still making it to the finals. There must be some extraordinary leadership qualities that this leader may have displays that out weights all negative opinions discusssed.
The Elimbaries are genuine and not stupids, they know the requirement of leadership at local, national and international level and they see fit that Timothy T. Komane can represent them.
Please, put aside your Kenaimaina/personal difference, don't compare Timothy and Kohn, they are achievers in their own right, they are brothers and please, don't divide them again and again.
Talk about a suitable Chuavian who has heart that can lead the people of Chuave into economic prosperity and deliver basic gov't services, human resource development/management etc...
Its good to know that the clock is pointing West so lets all vote the West Elimbari's leader to lead us all in the next gov't.
May the peace of the living God be with you all in your decision.

Hardly Teimai Timothy Komane's wantoks excess this blog

May 25 2012, 3:43 PM

Yawn, the postings done on this blog are done by mostly outsiders (None West Elimbarians). The West Elimbarians are Bomai back page people and have no excess to internet and most do not know how to operate computers.

The postings are done by the educated elites of Chuave who have excess to this blog.

Of course TTK is one of the leaders of Elimbary still alive. Two of their great leaders have passed away. Namely, Buckley Wan Iarume and David Goro Mai. TTK is still alive and the people of Elimbari is betting on him for 2012.

This is not the propaganda. If you talk face to face with TTK, you will not leave him for your life time because he will make you become part of his family member.

The people that are supporting him district wide are his life time family members. That is why, the people of West Elimbari always support him in all his elections since 1985.

He was also a Provincial Member for West Elimbari and Minister for Revenue in the Simbu Provincial Assembly 1993 - 1994.

Win for East/West Elimbari

May 26 2012, 4:35 PM

Iam calling from Central Chuave, I want to assure you East/West Elimbari people. 2012 is your win only if you: Put aside your differences and block vote for one candidate from each side (east & west) and spread the 2nd vote among them. Do not pass your vote to any chuave or siane candidate. Siane has no hope! Chuave has similar chances as yours but little less. So East/West please this is your turn to have the MP. All leaders need to have a rally to decide who will go for the race. I feel sorry for you because sometimes i see you have to walk all the way from Chuave gate to your place, sometimes you are robbed along the way, your teachers, health workers etc.. feel the burdern as well. During coffee seasons, you end up at Goroka in the night although you take off at 5am from your place. Road condition etc..are all hinderances. Please block vote. I give the win to you if you take this word seriously.

Bomai People, we do not need to argue. Our desire is for a West Elimbarian to win this election. The two candidates that we are talking about are brothers and they both nominate peacefully. If one is eliminated, his other remaining brother will collect the 2s and 3s from the elimination.

Let the people of Elimbary(Chuave) decide who to vote without any influence.

I beg you to stop nonsense on this blog and bring the message to the people of Elimbari to block for only two candidates. Mangi Waramai, thank you for supporting the Elimbaris. The people of Chuave and Siane have to pay back the votes that the Elimbari people owe them.

The Elimbari people voted late Yauwe Moses, Brown Sinamoi, Yauwe Riyong, late David Ango, and Jim Nomane into Parliament. Now is the payback time.

The people of K4K (Kamara) are aware of this one and supporting a candidate from Elimbari. I heard from reliable source that, that candidate will score more votes from Kamara than any other candidates from outside.

People of West Elimbari, this is your chance. Enough of roaming in the desert for forty (40) years from 1972 to 2012. Your year of deliverance is now! Please block your votes.

Thank you Stones & Moimena for doing a wonderfull job for the benefit of those living outside of the electorate. Now that those who are in the game list have been confirmed can the analyst or yourselves put out an unbiased opinion of who is in the top 5. On the same note can you also expose the non-genuine candidates who are just trying to make some quick bucks but destroying the chances of some very genuine candidates. I believe any such cases must be fully exposed before the voting starts. I'm a bit nervous at this stage that my horse's chances may be ruined by some inconsiderate selfish candidates.

Thank you for your concern.

June 5 2012, 12:41 PM

Spyman, I’m his supporter from Siane LLG. Yes, the good candidate go to book makers, drink beer, smoke, chew betel nut and you can add on the list......but what does that got to do with leadership?

Did he ever told you a lie, have you heard of him stealing or misappropriating money from Simbu provincial government using his position and power when he was a minister. Did he lately stole some money from the K30m court awarded to former provincial government members which he was their leader in their case and signatory to the money. You want to prove me wrong, go ask Kopa Mareta Marome, George Goi Mume and Seith Wayagi, the former SPG members.

I tell you he is no nonsense Simbu I know of and I uphold him high. His lifestyle is surrounded by truth, honesty and integrity. He never compromise with thieves, lawbreakers, and fast money makers with people’s interest.

Spyman, I wish I had a lot of money and fund him but unfortunately I’m just another honest public servant having no extra to spare. I have always contemplating of contesting elections too but I don’t have money to contest either. Anywhere, I have a brother contesting this election but my second vote definitely belongs to his guy. I believe that my second vote will definitely find our leader.

Please, let’s vote for a leader to parliament and not just a member to parliament.

Teimai Timothy Komane Seriously Campaigning District Wide

June 5 2012, 3:51 PM

Spyman, for your information. TTK is campaigning seriously like never before. He spent 2 days in Siane, from Lende to Runungu. Spent 2 days in East Elimbari, from Yandime to Nourei. Since this Monday, he is campaigning from Duma to Goigawa. Than he will spent some days from Kepai Emegi to Kautambandi.

His 7,000 plus votes are intact. He is breaking new grounds in Siane, East Elimbari, GoiGawa, K4K and Kautambandi. He scored over 2,000 votes from Kepai to Kautambandi.

Over half of Chauve candidates are openly welcoming him to their areas.

Confirmed - Khon Is a Heavy Drinker

June 11 2012, 9:03 AM

He spent most of his money on beers. Now he has no money to run his election campaign and sending SMS to all his friends asking them for money. He said in his sms that he was running as Independent and secured 6,000 votes from Elimbari. He desperately needs money from his friends to run the election. No wonder! he is not campaigning.

Top 5

June 5 2012, 7:01 PM

All Chuave requesting me for Top 5, it has taken so long to conclude. It’s been a hard work. As I have alerted you in my last posting, the Candidates were inches above each other. The selection of who has made it into the Top 5 was done through so many interviews, considering Council Wards per LLG (Chuave, Elimbari & Siane Rural LLG), gathering supporters views/comments, Analyzing Money Players, Number of Candidates contesting per wards/LLG and looking at the last election winning Margin. Sincere apology to those of you who waited so long for the update. Below I present to you our Top 5 Candidates for the Chuave Open 2012 National Election.

TOP 5 JUNE 5th 2012

1. Wera Mori (maintained)
2. Johannes Tokua (Pilot)(new inclusion)
3. Philip Khon Digan (new inclusion)
4. Jim Nomane (from 5th place)
5. Michael Dick (from 2nd place)

1. Wera Mori
-A big-name in Chuave Central and Simbu including entire Highlands region
-A leader with the capacity to manage his company well -can do for Chuave too
-Has been playing so much money -people say 'kaikai na givim'
-Had recently dished out K50 000 into Kebai which is made up on Wards 1&2 in Chuave LLG.
-Has been dishing out so much money lately. People from all over chuave have come and go as individuals & in groups to receive.
-His home is right at the Gateway (Whitehouse), hence this puts him at the spot of attraction especially for those who need money.
-He's staging his campaign house at Waramai -formerly Workshop for Kapuo Zero. This is another hot spot he chooses in order to catch those who are from this side of Chuave
-Maintained his number one position among those who played money game this election. Interviewees agreed that Wera is campaigning on only 'one gold bar'. With today’s gold price of 1556USD/Ounce, it is estimated to be around K4000 000 (K1556 =4000US$ X 1000Grams =K4 000 000)
-Like any other intending candidates, he has been on the front line assisting in funeral services, and other community related issues
-Has come to the top of my list regardless of some allegation on the Highlands Highway Rehabilitation Plan. This is a national issue and people in the remote villages and those who do not have access to the media are unaware of this issue so he is the choice for 2012
-Even though he does not have big base vote, he is sure to collect from all over Chuave
-Has an estimate base vote of 600 out of 1500 from Ward 4. Rival Jacob Bi Kai is sure to collect majority of this but still he’s got the 2nd preference.
-His challenge will come from Kumo Peter Launa -once Simbu Governor. Peter said, when he was the Governor, it was Wera Mori who teamed up with Joseph Onguglo to oust him so now is time for payback. However, from the ground work, Peter's Clan (Komogam) of Kamare are fed up with Peter's lies during his term as Governor. Seems that they all moved to Were Mori.
-He is sure to collect Most 2's from Chuave Central which is made up of 13 wards.
-Of course will definitely collect 2 form other Wards with his buying votes strategy

2. Johannes Tokua (Pilot)
-The ground work into each candidates shows Johannes topple every other first time candidates in Chuave.
-Pilot by profession has made into the 2nd place in the race.
-Can talk and convince people.
-Has started his campaign since 2009 June.
-Has Network and supporters all over Chuave
-Has admitted/supported people through funeral services, school fee assistance, supplied school materials since then through his network
-His Front men will never leave him because they are all on his pay roll. Whether they come from Siane or Elimbari, they admitted their 1st preference for him because he's been with them for so long and they have benefited in one way of the other like none other candidate would do for them.
-He hails from Ward 8 Council in Chuave LLG. Has a base vote of 1454.
-Since no candidates contesting from Ward 9 with a population of 900 (Kinugu/Mainamo). The Wards 8&9 combined with full support according to people interviewed. Presumably, 2300+ is a no go zone.
-Contrary to Wera Mori who dish out money into groups/hausline of people, Johannes is paying individuals cash. Those who received from him come as far as Suagawa which is the base vote for Wai Iarume. Why they come? Because they had great leaders like Late David Goro Mai, Late Buckly Iarume & now they don’t want another Late >>>>>???.
-Johannes has also received support from Ward 18 in the Siane LLG once used to be a base vote for Alfred Rongo. Lately Alfred has showed full support for Johannes. This was a payback to a rival candidate for Alfred who never gave him a single chance in the past elections.
-His rival candidate from Ward 8 -Mr Rocky Buno declared to the people that he nominated just to please his endorsing party as a Shadow candidate for Jim Nomane in the PNC led by O'Neil. This disperse all doubts about Ward 8 breakup.
-The tension between Wera Mori & David Mori from Ward 7 in Chuave LLG sees David team up with Johannes. This is because they believe in the same ancestral migration. The two wards have names Gomia 1 & Gomia 2. They claim as 'eagles' having one wing as Gomia 1 and the other as Gomia 2. Johannes is sure to strip away 2nd from Ward 7 (Gomia 1).
-The big duma which has the highest population figures in the Chuave LLG sees 6 candidates putting their hands up. 3 from ward 10 and the other 3 are related families from ward 12. Due to this break up, the people in the middle (Ward 11) withdrew their support for their 6 candidates. The interviewees were frustrated because the candidates did not follow the people's wishes since they have the winning figure compared to last election of 7800 with 35 candidates in 2007. Ward 11 is eying to the MAN from the Valley -Johannes Tokua (Pilot).
-Chuave having 43 candidates nominated -an increase of 8% compared to 2007, the winning margin had dropped to around + or - 5000. With the alarming support in the ground work research, Johannes Tokua (Pilot) is a potential Candidate.
-He’s has to work hard to step into areas he has not set his foot, look into areas he has not set his eyes so he could give a good race to Wera Mori.

3. Philip Khon Digan
-Geologist By Profession who made it into the race at 3rd place
-Unbelievable like Johannes Tokua (Pilot) is another first timer but a man with strong campaign policies
-Has been claiming himself to be an answer to the needs of East/West Elimbari
-He received most of the Support from Both East & West Elimbari. He was the man behind the Goiri Cement Factory Project. His campaign has won the hearts of many people who testified in the interviews conducted so far.
-Since East/West Elimbari lacks basic services, and development has not taken place in this part of Chuave, Philip Khon Digan was tipped to be the next MP for Chuave.
-He has started with a vision and people say he will do the rest
-Philip Khon Digan hails from Wards 5,6&7 in the West Elimbari Rural LLG which also sees Timothy Komane, Alois Toko and Tony Sipa raising their hands. Despite the likely break up, the ground work concluded that Philip will score the most. Why Teimai Timothy dropped? The answer is indigestible however, its consumable. During the Last Election Teimai Timothy who hails from Ward 6 came 2nd place. His people regretted his loss and shifted the blame to a rival candidate and a fight broke which took some lives and properties destroyed. Most of these were from Wards 1, 2 & 3 who were behind Teimai Timothy. But when it comes to the time of 'Brukim Suka' ceremony, Teimai Timothy never showed himself as a leader to lead the people into true peace making. He also did not contribute to the compensations as expected by the people. Now, they turned their back on him and put Philip Khon Digan's Poster on every door of their house.
-To make situations worse, Teimai Timothy rival Tony Sipa were In-Laws and are expected to share votes from their wards. This has diminished his chances and sadly pushed him out of the race.
-Philip has been in the mining field for so many years and has supporters and cronies all over Chuave like other top candidates.
-Since the Cement project is at the Border between Duma and Mam, he has received support from wards 10,11 and 12 as well.
-His Challenge will come from JKB Construction owner Nime Aus. He was tipped second preference from the people interviewed during this analysis.

4. Jim Nomane
-Current MP
-Has made one step up from my last analysis by grabbing Michael Dick from second place and pushed him under his feet. The work into Siane is always a fatigue type.
-Has cronies and Supporters all over chuave but now many candidates from his base votes are raising their hand, however still has the chance to collect 2 & 3
-His the man for O’Neil’s Party in the come 2012 election. He was out of the top 5 but since people are now looking towards the O’Neil government -he made his way back. He will be pushing for free education & health care in the O’Neil party's policy if he make it back to parliament.
-Having seen the benefits of Developments that are currently underway in PNG, O’Neil wants PNC to lead the Government again after 2012 election so they can harvest the blessing of the Land. Hence, Jim has been sweating day and night to maintain his cronies as well as advancing into raw areas. From sources, Jim is Teaming up with Candidates such as David Mori from Chuave LLG. David is hosting his Campaign house at the former Waramai Wholesale –opposite Wera Mori’s. Jim is also teaming up with Rocky Buno from Ward 8 in Chuave LLG. He has also teamed up with couple of Candidates from East/West Elimbari. He is likely to fund their elections so he could claim their 2nd preferences.
-Additionally, Jim has a down-to-earth character which most people interviewed expressed their 'easy to talk to' attitude towards Jim.
-Jim has his office bearers from 2007 till now as the frontlines in this year’s election. He is sure to collect most 2nd through them.

5. Michael Dick
-He has made into the top 5 form nowhere. The ground work into Siane took so long to conclude which most people interviewed had shown their support for Michael Dick
-He has been a big name in Siane as well as Chuave & East/West Elimbari
-Has contested past elections and has supporters and cronies all over chuave
-Siane having the highest Population in Chuave electorate and is made up of 27 wards, he's ward made up of 1/4. He has a solid block vote.
-Having learnt from previous mistakes, he had been putting his foot, hands, eyes and ears where he had never done before especially in Siane wide.
-Among many intending candidates for Siane LLG, he was tipped for 2012.
-His challenge will come from Current sitting Member -Hon Jim Nomane & Former Chuave MP. Mr. Yauwe Riong
-Among the many potential leaders of Siane, Michael Dick was tipped for outstanding leadership at the community level.
-With 17 candidates contesting from the Siane Rural LLG, the chances of Michael Dick has dropped as well as other candidates. The win is likely to come from Chuave or West Elimbari. However, Siane having the biggest population in Chuave and from history have sent MP's into parliament with their last minute decision, Michael dick will be a choice
-The ground work has placed him on 5th place.

The final update will be up before the polling on the 23rd June. Meanwhile, should you have any opinions or comments to my analysis, please feel free to post and argument.

Correction on Top 5 Candidates

June 5 2012, 9:23 PM

Tony Sipa is not Teimai Timothy Komane's in-law. Tony Sipa is from Giriu Ward 7 &8 together with Alus Ame Toko.

Tony Suba Tabie is TTK's in-law who contested last election with Timothy but Timothy came second. Tony Suba Tabie is not contesting this election.

The prime reason for the fight between Mam and Damagu was not Teimai Timothy Komane's election related and the Mams admitted that during the reconcilliation.

Even thought TTK was not at home, his people assisted the Mams in their compensation payment.

When TTK got his money from the Provincial Government final entitlement payout, he went home and compensate the Mams (Ward 1, 2 & 3) village by village from Dirom to Mor West Border and reconciled with the Mams.

TTK is married to Mam. The prominent leaders from ward 1, 2 & 3 are with TTK.

He also reconciled with the Konogus (ward 4) his uncles.

After the close of nomination, TTK called the Mams and Damagus to his home at Kureri and reconciled.

After reconciliation, TTK was invited to Siane for the first time in his political career. The people blocked the road starting from Lende just for him to talk to them. From Lende to Fomo, it takes half a day. He over night at Fomo and next day visited late David Angos grave yard and the old women cried saying "Hap leg igo pinis na hap leg yu kam." He went all the way to Runungu and loaded his old time supporters to Fomo where he was invited to open Dr. Samuel Maima's grand stand. TTK cut the ribbon and was the first speaker. Other candidates from Siane were there.

The heads were bowed when the ribbon was cut. This a sign that clearly shows that the leadership is taken to Elimbari.

TTK went to East Elimbari and spoke at JKB's grand stand. He than went to ODR and to Wangoi where he met with George Goi Mume. Then to Damagu. This week he is touring Chuave LLG. Today he is at Kebai.

Analyst please interview some other people and they will give you the correct answers.

The people who are supporting Khon Digan are the people who never supported TTK in his previous elections. The people who are with TTK are intact.

Timothy will collect more first votes from West Elimbari than Kon. Even votes from ward 5 & 6 their base votes. TTK has all the men power.

TTK will collect votes from Lende, Pila, Fomo, Ipaku, Runungu, Yandime, Suagawa, Karaweri, ODR, Wangoi, Kurorme, Emegi, Sirikoge, Mebimangi (KMR), K4K, Goi Gawa. Mainomo, Kautambandi, Keu, Onoma, Gun. These are twos and threes. He is maintaining his 7000 plus votes from last year.

1972 to 2012 (40 yrs) in the wilderness is enough.

LET US HEAR FROM THE COUNTING ROOM AND CONCLUDE WHO IS RIGHT.

Tru Elimbari Leader

June 5 2012, 9:44 PM

-Philip Khon Digan has NOT stepped aside. The Geologist said he is "Contesting the Chuave Open 2012"
-This will give a real challenge to Teimai Timothy as both are from the same Ward.
-There is a big split in the East -West Elimbari LLG which currently has Wards 1-16.
-The number of Candidates sprouting up especially form West is alarming. This places a big threat to Teimai Timothy. His has dropped to 3rd place.

YES WE CAN!! I believe George Mume has the credential to be a National leader because his records speaks

Well we are days away from polling and it is very, very crusial for people like you to initiate a meeting for these two brothers, TTK & Khon Digan to come to a common understanding and one should make way for the other, otherwise we will regret again.

July 6 2012, 9:29 PM

Keu Mam, thank you for your concern. Timothy Komane and Khon Digan has reconciled today and allowed the people of Kureri to vote freely. Those who give ones to Timothy, their two will go to Khon and vise versa. That means that 100% votes from Kurei will go to one of them.

Please encourage your people to give their twos and threes to them. Please give chance to West Elimbari. Chuave, Siane and East Elimbari have their chance already. Please help us to win the election.

Re: Top 5

June 6 2012, 1:55 PM

Analyst, I am suprised to see you put Johannes Tokua (pilot) in the race at No.2 place. I know almost all the potential people in Gomia 2 but had never heard of Johannes. Where did he come from, does he have a house in Gomia 2?? People from outside may give him the 2's and 3's as you have analysed but the Gomia 2 people are definately divided up in their 1's for Wera Mori and David Mori, therefore Johannes does not have a solid base. This is the fact. If Johannes wants all 1's from his base than he must be a miracle man to do so.

Do Candidates Ranking Again

June 6 2012, 7:07 PM

Moikari, I agree with you. Analyst appreciate your tireless work. Please kindly do analysis on the Top 5 candidates again in different approach.

From my observation, the top 5 candidates are:

1. Teimai Timothy Komane - Alliance with JKB Construction owner, George Goi Mume. He is on top because of this alliance. They are the top three candidates for Elimbari. They will share their 2s and 3s. TTK has alliance with half of the candidates for Chuave. That's why he is campaigning freely district wide from Dumanogu to West Boda (Mor), from Nourei to Karaweri, from Onoma to Goigawa, from Kebai to Kautambandi, from Keu to Runungu/Yandime.

2. Wera Mori - Because he is giving money district wide. However, has no base votes. Peter Launa is likely to spoil his votes. The K4K are not supporting him. The KMRs are also not supporting him because he did not distribute the Highway Re-habillitation money.

3. David Mori - Do not under estimate him. He has got money. He came 3rd in the last election. Now that Jim Nomane is out, he is likely to collect heavy votes from Laiya and Lutano. He will also collect votes district wide.

4. Yauwe Riyong - He is likely to collect more votes from Siane. He also has network district wide. He knows how to win elections.

5. George Goi Mume - He is the preferred candidate for East Elimbari and will collect more votes from there. He is likely to collect some votes from Siane and Chuave. He has a strong base votes. Now that Timothy Komane fought very hard and got his Provincial Government entitlements for him, he is shifting his 2 votes to Timothy Komane. That is why Timothy Komane is on top of the list.

THIS IS JUST THE ROUGH ONE HAVE YOUR SAY ON THIS LIST.

Enough Evidence for Bribery

June 7 2012, 6:46 PM

To all the good voters of Chuave. We have enough evidence for candidates who are bribing the voters of Chuave left right centre. Please do not vote for these candidates. If anyone of them wins would be taken to court of dispute returns. We do not want to waste our time and government's resources going to bye election.

YOU KNOW WHO THEY ARE. FOR THOSE OBVIOUS CANDIDATES GIVING MONEY TO PEOPLE, IF YOU WIN, YOUR WIN WILL BE DISPUTED.

TTK Vs KPD

June 8 2012, 11:55 AM

This is the latest from Kureri village, Timothy Komane's supporters and family ambused campign convoy of Kon Digan and there was a tension of tribal warfare last night and further fight brewing to erupt now just before the polling, Is this a matured politics that many of you are preaching about in this blog? or a sign of imaturity?, people, this LPV system is purely designed for voters to choose from three candidates, no need to fight over the preference,if you think that you are a leader than make it to the people to choose and confirm that you are their true leader, no need to fight your own brother, family or the people for that matter,

Go for First Time Candidates

June 10 2012, 1:52 PM

I wish to share my opinion in this forum. So far I view the List of Candidates for Chuave Open Seat and it tells me that half of the candidates are made up of Former MP's and Re-current Contestants. To me personally, I am of the view that the former MP's had their turn in Politics and lead the people of Chuave. During their term as MP for Chuave, have they achieved something? I think 5 years is a hell lot of time for meeting goals and objectives. If they have achieved someting, its worth rejoicing and moving on in politics. However, if they have partially or have not met their aims & goals, then it should be crystall clear to themselves as well as the people of Chuave and I think they should give up politics. They can do other things in life that they may be good at. To the re-current contestants, if I were one of them who tried twice and cannot make it, I would as well give time to the first timers. Although you (readers) have your opinions on this, I personally think its time for new breed of vibrant men/women to take on the Chuave MP. In this election, I would rather support first timers. Tingting Tasol- Meri Tambu.

Kohn Digan Deserted

June 10 2012, 8:12 PM

Mantru, you are one the only guy supporting Khon in this blog. The people of Yorogu are peace loving people. The incident that happened two days ago was designed and set up by the outsiders who are jealous of the Yorogus.

It was evident that, when fight broke out, the outsiders fled in all directions leaving the Yorogus alone to fight among themselves. Accordingly, it was hard for brothers to fight against each other. The candidate, Khon told his supports that they set them up to fight among themselves. He was angry and told his supporters to get out of his sight and return to their places.

It was announced publicly that Teimai Timothy Komane will collect 100% votes from ward 5 & 6 Kureri Rest House ( TTK private votes).

The incident was so humillitating for such man of high standard. He deserted the village and we do not know whether he will return or not. His supporters from outside are withdrawing their support and now taking sides with TTK because it was evident that Khon's supporters have no power to take charge of the polling place hence no base votes.

Elimbari Genuine Candidates

June 11 2012, 9:50 AM

Mangi Waramai, thank you for your support. The people of Elimbari have identified the genuine and serious candidates and put off the others.

The genuine candidates are:

1. Andrew Tokowa - Damagu - West Elimbari
2. JKB Construction owner - Gai - E.Elimbari
3. George Goi Mume - Yagari - E.Elimbari
4. Teimai Timothy Komane - Mam Kenaimaina - West Elimbari
5. Wai Iarume - Gai - East Elimbari

Some obvious Non Genuine candidates are:

1. Tony Sipa Wemin - Giriyu - W.Elimbari
2. Ame Alus Toko - Giriyu - W.Elimbari
3. Ben Yoba - Kenaimaina - W.Elimbari
4. Lukie Tapie - Mam - W.Elimbari
5. Samuel Kiri - Korena - E.Elimbari
6. Khon Digan - Kenaimaina - W.Elimbari - The Goiri limestone project is funded by O'Neill government and O'Neill wants to retain the sitting MP Jim Nomane who is PNC candidate. The only candidate that will give strong challenge to Jim is Timothy Komane. The only way to smash Timothy Komane is to put up someone from his place.

The above strategy worked for Jim Nomane during 2007 election when Timothy Komane's brother in-law Tony Tabie contested with two others from the area. Now, the people of Elimbari learnt from the 2007 mistakes and will give their 2s and 3s to the genuine candidates.

Khon and Timothy are cousin brothers. If they are genuine, only one should contest. Unless one has ulterior motives.

Kureri Yagl- you hit the nail on the head when you point out in your non geniune list of candidates # 6 Khon Digan as its another Nomane's stretergies to spoil TTK's golden oppotunity. However, my piece of advise to you is that whilst it is only days remaining before polling your people of Mam, Keinamaina,Kenerugu and Duma Nugu should be made aware of this very suspicious move and motive of the sitting MP. I am confident this time around it's TTK's if voters from your strong base is made aware of the dirty tricks.

REPEATING TAKEAWAYS AND SLOGANS

June 16 2012, 8:47 PM

Mr.Anti Quaks...When having your words, its ending strong,Mr.Peter Launa takes steps to restate key themes and slogan. His efficacy in doing this is evident by how widely known some of those slogan have become:Yes we can, change that works for you, the past versus the future,Reclaim the chuavean's Dream, our moment is now, change we can believe in him to develop, because he stage as the governor for only two years to do so many infrastructures in simbu not like candidates who saved five year. Try give him now for this little.

That is why this campaign can't only be about me.It must be about us.It must be about what we can do together. This campaign must be the occasion, the vehicle.of your hopes, and dreams. It will take your time, your energy, and your advice to push us forward when we're right or wrong and to let us know when we'er not. This campaign has to be about reclaiming the meaning of leader citizenship, restoring our sense of common purpose, and realzing that few obstacles can with-stand the power of millions of voices calling for changes can done by Peter Launa.

By ourslaves, this change will not happen.Divided,we are bound to fail.

But the life of a tall,gangly,sellf-made springfield lawyer tell us that a different future is possible.
He tells us that there is power in words. He tells us that there is power in conviction, that beneath all the differences of race and region, faith and station,we are one people .

June 17 2012, 8:29 AM

Tisa, agree with you. Mr. Gate, you can say very long sentences trying to express all you have learnt and referring back to your dictionary for every expensive word. The idea is simple and straight forward. Peter must have accomplished someting in his term as Governor for other districts. He could have done something for Chuave as well -his home grown. I never thought he would one day put his hand up for Chuave Open. Tell me where he collected the 27 000 + to be on the top list and finally becoming the Governor? I was there at his Canteen @ Chuave gate on that very day when he called all the leaders of Chuave to come so he could express his intention for contesting the seat left vacant by Late. Fr Louis Ambane. On that day, all leaders from Chuave-wide expressed their undivided support. He went for the win. Now if I were Peter, I would have given 50% to Chuave alone so I could receive the same or even more support from my people. He never done that. I heard him saying he will forcus on Chuave in 2006. That became another 'sugar daddy's sweet talk. Our hope in 2006 was tarnished. Nothing happened. Then, 2007 came for the General Election...you can conclude here. The message is clear, Chuave people are not fools. I assume that it must be your first time to see Peter physically in his speeches. Im sorry that you were knocked off by his speaking & gestures. And you cant hold on your memory so you decided to express here on this blog. I urge you to do some research, find out who Peter is, and then come back. Yes, I agree, the past has gone (the clock cannot be reversed) but the memory still stays.

Let me put it to you clearly that you are no where near to some of Quakogams sons and daughters who were successful and made it big time both here and abroad. Ten of you and your tribesmen can not make half the man Peter Launa is and weather you like it or not Peter Launa was your leader once don't forget that and its gone down in history that Peter Launa was the only candidate to single handly block vote an entire district and win in the history of PNG Politics......

If I were AntiQuaks I would mobilise my tribesmen and put my hand up to contest the elections instead of hiding under a pen name and talk gibbberish and see for myself weather the people of Chuave will give me the mandate they once gave Peter Launa or not??

What we've learned-practices for facinig and overcoming obstacles candidates has demonstrated tremendous skill in facing and over coming controvercy. We have learned many lession from the previous candidates in chuave with their communication practices that enabled them to weather storms and thrive in their aftermath.Notably, leaders should always remember that how they respond to controvercy is as or more important than the controvercy itself. They should address controvercy head on and accept responsibility when appropriate. When offering apologies;skilled communication seek to appear remoresfull but strong.because their character and judgement may have place in doudt, skiilled communicators realize they must strong impressions all over again. They avoid the appearance of defiance and defensiveness, humiliity and graciousness characterize their words. As with first impressions body language, image and voice have considerable impact on the imression made.Effective communication identify their goals before they offer apoloies or remarks and keep focused, making sure to articulate the words necessary to achieve their goals.Skilled communicators remember to used props and physical location to reset their image amid controvercy,as well as to reinforce their key messages,They also avoid apprearing as if they are waverng in their commiment to adirable ethics.Instead, when offering their remarks, they communicate their strong ethics again, standing strong in their beliefs. For all of us to Know politics to a next level in nation.Jealousing kills try to bring someone very low up to the next level like you are in every size.

Belden Nama -What kind of a leader is he?

June 21 2012, 5:52 PM

Belden Nama, What kind of a Politican is he? June 21 2012, 5:34 PM

All Chuave, this is my say on the above posting. The purpose of this posting is to remind us on how some Party Leaders doing their campaign for this year's National Election. We should be mindful of what makes us to be who we are -democracy.

In the midst of our conversations, the Party Leaders and their condidates have sleepless nights. Since this years elections is so important to the Nation's development and the formation of a new government will see the harvest of the first fruits of the PNG LNG project which is expected to produce in 2014.

Hon. Nama since taking over the reign from Sir Mekere was outstanding but received criticism from all over. I assume Sir Mek handed over this position of the Party Leader to Hon. Nama not based on his leadership style but there are things that Sir Mek has taken into consideration before making his decision. One thing that many will agree on could be 'the survival of the PNG Party in the long run'. Having that in mind, as well as Nama's Millionare status, PNG Party is sure to stand tall and strong among others. The kind of leadership displayed by Nama is sore to the former & party founder because he strongly believes in true democracy. However he does not have the power anymore to remove the joy stick enjoyed by Nama. Hon Namah, a prison cum politician and businessman is really hungry for power. He can do anything under the sun to stay in power. Even if it means to bribe rival contestant and PNG Greens party leader -Dorothy Tekwe to step aside so he could have no obstruction in his race. Hon Nama can deny as much as he can of any accusations against Mrs Tekwe but who will be convinced to believe it is still the question.

Hon Nama hunger for power has caused him. But does that make him give up?. He is utilizing the military to gain power. This is unhealthy for PNG democracy. There are two forces right now with two government and two departmental heads etc.. When one master the number and form government, the rival is likely to pay the penalty. This could mean imprisonment. There is more money play like never before. All these are pointing towards one thing - tarnishing the democracy of PNG.

Re: Re:who is getting more vote from kamare.Mr.Peter Launa

June 23 2012, 7:05 PM

Much has been said about candidates; I would like you bloggers to do the math. 43 candidates in Chuave, 5 candidates from Chuave LLG, and say 20 for East / West and the other 18 for Siane. Can someone advise who will be collecting most of the votes from Kamare and from East/West & Siane I know a good part of Siane will be voting for a Kamare. Bloggers, I am from Kamare and hardly see our leaders from East/West and Siane coming to Kamare to campaign. I know candidates from Kamare go to the back to campaign; any way times up already. With the light of recent events around Kamare and Siane it doesn't matter who has or hasn't done what. People live by the moment, you impress someone with a ciggarette before the polling and you're bound to get his vote; this is Chuave politics. I know so. Sorry can't comment on how you do it at the back but I believe the wind is drifting to Kamare.

Now, out of the 5 contesting in Kamare I know they are all liars, even our leaders at the back, they slip in a white lie every now and then so don't worry about honesty. Now, we need leaders who are simply good; someone who has a good personality and can punch the line hard. Try to cross out those who dont have it in Kamare; cross out the candidates that pretend to have a good personality only during and just before the elections.

The last man standing is your guy...

Cheers,

Kongo East...

Hypothetically, say if Tom Olga lost his seat and Paias Wingti and him are both no longer members of parliament. Now, if they went to Rabaul or Pom for a gathering. Who would be the most likely person of the two to represent the Western Highlands community and address the gathering..... Bring this back to Chuave. Who would be a candidate of this calibre....This is what we have to vote for; we need leaders that have value and leverage in the eyes of Waigani. Please don't vote for little pretty school boys.....

Battle is Between Jim Nomane and Teimai Timothy Komane

June 27 2012, 12:40 PM

East Kongo, have you seen the result published in the Post Courier on Tuesday 26th June 2012 regarding the 2012 election research done by Michael Mel Research? Per the research, the battle is between Jim Nomane and Teimai Timothy Komane.

Researcher- Your prediction is more accurate, however the Chuave's would be really blind if they re elect somebody who is incompetent, unproductive and inactive on the floor of parliment for a entire whole term.
Whilst we have days remaining before polling, the incumbent MP should show cause on this blog why he should re enter parliment.

I believe those predictions in the news paper are just propaganda. Our culture, beliefs and political creed can not be reduced to an outsiders assessment. Anyone in politics, especially in Chuave knows that people vote not because of the monies they recieve; or the food they feast on; they vote because they always have an opinion. There is a whole host of reasons that people process before they make up their mind. I like this culture because our Chuave politics can not be decided by research at face value.

Please vote wisely...

The other problem is that every wantok is promoting their candidate and its impossible to have any objectivity!

Not only is it impossible to say who's ahead or why, the multiple factors that have totally screwed up this election make it impossible to say how the votes will turn out. What goes into the ballot box is not what comes out.

I Saw this page very late.

The election in process of counting and this shcould have been done way before the polls. Timothy is a big name in the community (Chuave), however he contested some 3 or 4 times in the previous election.

This time around, he should give Kon Digan a chance, unfortunately this hadn't happened.

We are now hoping Wera will win the race.

Wish them Luck.

I heard that one candidate from Chuave origin is bribing voters to vote for him because he has no base votes. He is giving K10,000.00 to K100,000.00 per clan.

Please do not vote for him. If he wins, definitely Chuave will have bye election, wasting government resources and delaying a representative of Chuave people in the floor of Parliament. Hence, denying services.

Please consider other Kamares to be in the race, not Wera. Mipela no save guria long money, Wera knows that. We even returned his money. Any of Wera's supporters can confirm this.

TIMOTY KOMANE BASE VOTE IS DIVIDED BETWEEN TWO OTHER CANADIDATES. DONT DREAMING OF THE HISTORY WERE TIMOTY COLLECT MORE THEN THE OTHER TWO IN THE LAST ELECTION.THIS ELECTION THE OTHER WAY AROUND AND THE FACT IS THAT HE WILL COLLECT LESS THEN 500 VOTES FROM HIS BASE.FOR GEORGE MUME, HE HAS SOLID BAS VOTES OF LESS THEN 2000 BUT HE WILL NOT COLLECT SECOND AND THIRD VOTES BECAUSE TODAYS ELECTION MONEY TALKS.

SO I STRONGLY THINK THAT ONE OF THE FOLLOWING WILL WIND:
1)WERA MORI(MONEY TALKS)
2)KHON DIGAN (LIMESTONE PROJECT)
3)YAWEA RYONG(ACTION MAN AND POPULARITY)

What really is important here is that you should have a very strong and secure base foundation in order to be in the race. Some candidates in Chuave who play money left, right, center lack this and I doubt.
I urge the candidates concern to cease this practise of buying votes, otherwise your dreams will not come through and it will be unhealthy for some of you.

Let Us Wait and See, Lest We Be Upset

July 9 2012, 3:31 PM

Keu Mam and Aurari Kop Nem, the people of Chuave have already made their decision on who would be their next MP. What we say on this blog today and onwards will NOT have any effect on the voters. Accordingly, let us wait and see and hear the progressive results count by count.

I have estimated voters/ballots distributed to each ward in Chuave, Elimbari and Siane. If I have some spare time, I would post them on this blog.

Total ballot papers distributed in the electorate is about 34,000+. Siane received 10,000 +, Chuave 11,800 +, and Elimbari got the highest of 12,200 + ballot papers. Elimbari registered 10 candidates (5 active and 5 are inactive). Chuave registered 17 and Siane has 16 candidates.

Do your own analysis with the above information where the WIN will go.

If I have time I will give ballot papers received per ward.

HAVE A NICE DAY.

Khon Digan Did not Vote at Kureri his Base Vote

July 9 2012, 3:51 PM

Me, a sad news is that Khon Digan was not available at his base vote at Kureri to vote. The Kureri Rest House Ward 5 and 6 were the first to complete voting in he Entire Elimbari on 7 July 2012. Even though three candidates (Ben Yoba, Khon Philip Digan, Teimai Timothy Komane) contested, they voted freely an in an orderly manner. They said election comes and go but family relationships remain forever.

The people of Elimbari who came and witnessed the polling were socked to see that Khon Digan was absent during the polling. Some of his supporters were frustrated. The people from Giriyu, Kenogu, Mam, Damagu, Onagari, Yagari, Gai and others who were thinking of voting Khon Digan have switched.

Ganyo, 99.9999% of the voting public are politically uneducated - they may know politics at the village level but beyond that, their mind will register a full blank.

They draw from their village understanding of politics - "mumu hole politics" and use that as the benchmark to comapre their candidates with the other candidates. So we end up electing idiots.

Amazingly, 99.9999 % of the candidates contesting the Suawe seat do not have the intelligence and oratory skills to debate issues of national importantce intelligently on the floor of parliament or even in international forums as national leaders. They can not even navigate the bureaucratic jungles of Waigani skillfully and grab development grants and improve or upgrade existing public infrastructures in our district.

A stupid idiot wasted 5 years in parliament and now I hope we have not elected another idiot, twice more stupid than the last one.

We are not stupid, we are just as intelligent as anyone in PNG and, I am sure we have made the right choice in this election.

Kebiaiyo is Contradicting his statement

July 11 2012, 10:20 AM

Kebiaiyo, you said that David Mori was a new MP for Chuave.

Moreover, you said that 99.9999 % of the candidates contesting the Suawe seat do not have the intelligence and oratory skills to debate issues of national importantce intelligently on the floor of parliament or even in international forums as national leaders. They can not even navigate the bureaucratic jungles of Waigani skillfully and grab development grants and improve or upgrade existing public infrastructures in our district.

You also said that a stupid idiot has wasted 5 years in parliament and now you hope we had not elected another idiot, twice more stupid than the last one.

DOES THAT MEANT THAT DAVID MORI IS 0.0001% CONTESTING THE SUAWE SEAT WHO VERY INTELLIGENT AND ORATORY SKILLS TO DEBATE ISSUES OF NATIONAL IMPORTANCE INTELLIGENTLY ON THE FLOOR OF PARLIAMENT OR EVEN IN INTERNATIONAL FORUMS AS NATIONAL LEADERS?

WHAT IS HIS QUALIFICATION?

You're asking about David Mori's qualifications, well Im quite certain he has made every effort in his campaigne to clearify that, heard his speech on the 15th of June at the rally held at Chuave Station, and must admit he made quite an impression. He opened up to the public about his limited education, he did not brag nr promise anything, nor belittled any of the other candidates. His speech encircled around giving a voice to the unheard, for too long Chuave has given power to the "qualified" and what have they done, except get wealthy. It's time for a change, anything we say here won't matter anymore about who should win, people have voted, good luck CHUAVE.

Enough of Corruption.

July 12 2012, 12:07 PM

Anticipating For Something Good to happen in our District.

I personally believe that our new member for Chuave will provide basic service neglected by the people of East/West elembari, Siane and some parts of Chuave LLG for so many years. I also believe that someone who will become our next MP will fear God the creator and thus will do everything according the law. He will not be a corrupt leader but only a transparent leader who will feel for his people.
Herewith, I hug all of us to remain silent and anticipating for something good to happen in our very beautifully district, LLG, and our lovely villages.
Please Be positive In What We Say. Enough of Corruption.

Young Leaders, Put Your Hands Up

July 12 2012, 5:14 PM

I am appealing to the young leaders of Chuave District, please prepare yourselves for 2017. I am asking you all to contest so we can raise the quality of leadership. You may not have the experience, however at least we have a higher porbability of electing a better candidate than our fathers and grand fathers who are contesting. They need to retire. Jim Nomane, Yauwe Riyong, Timothy Komane to name a few. We need young people; disciplined, hardworking, has a home (good family person), proven himself in his career, knows the village 'mechanics',let us change the future please.

What ever the outcome is for 2012, we must change.

Giving Money and Food to Voters for First Pref Votes is Bribery

July 13 2012, 4:46 PM

Giving money and food to voters intentionally to buy votes is bribery. The people of Keu, if you have any evidence, report the matter to police for investigation.

That means that Wera did not get votes from Duma and Elimbari. What a waste of resources.

Because of this behaviour, the candidates from chuave who contest the seat will not claim the seat unless God will choose good potential leader.

Most were in the Top 8

Gents, the analysis of the Top 5 and the Winner was correct.

Do you accept the this win according to my analysis?

Please share your comments. Ta!

Top 5 June 5 2012, 7:01 PM

Analyst, you have done a terrific job to keep us updated and to have created an environment for users to argue and debate and to share views.
As for me my horse raced home and I am happy. I know over the next 5 years will be tough but at least many more people will be blessed and will have a moment of happiness because of the elected member. He is not a selfish person and he has Chuave at heart. He is a born leader and I am sure he will deliver.
A big thank you to all those who have the confidence in him to vote for him. Every corner of Chuave voted for him which can only mean that people wanted change and have chosen a man who is capable enough to make the change.
People of Chuave be prepared and embrase change because change is coming!

August 23 2013, 2:07 PM

Read today Niugini News and you see Wera has been arrested and thrown behind bars and he had to bail. He appeared in Court briefly. All know that he is innocent until proven guilty but the writing has been on the wall all the while that he was going to court so judge for yourself what kind of a man Wera is. The honest keep on living the same life walking and driving past Chuave gate.. Have your say

Em tru nau at last the long arms of the justice system caught up with our honorable member, if it is true that he inappropriately got all those millions from the highlands highway rehabilitation fund and used it in the 2012 election and win then, THE TRUTH WILL PREVAIL, however now he is innocent until proven guilty,
