Aaron Kasse is also in the race. Unlike other candidates, in the last 4 years as Project Manager for Kainantu Barrick Limited he has delivered more to the people of Agarabi, Kamano 1 and Kamono 2 than the current sitting MPs. Even after he resigned he has shown his commitment to deliver to the people by serving them via his registered NGO group Small Steps Foundation. He has support from K1, K2 and Agarabi. He is silently making a difference. He has a lot of credentials to be a leader. For your info Aaron Kasse was former PNGDF captain (8 years), Pioneer Headmaster for Onerungka High School
(6 Years), Manager with Arabica Coffee (2 years), Principal CODE for Salvation Army (3 years),Manager ADRA Literacy (3 years), Community Projects Manager Kainantu Barrick Ltd ( 3 years). He can do it

We are just simple ordinary PNGans surviving each day from little that we earn from our sweats.I hope our people will vote wishly and won’t cry again for services another 5 years down the line, after this 2012 election…Everyone who want to become leader, in the end of the day they all develop corrupt minds. We can find a wild dog, bring it home and tame it to became our pet..But human mind is one of the greatest thing in which we cannot tame, it is beyond our physical assessment…it is so hard to comprehend how human minds work-from “good” at a humble beganing to “worse” when we possesed power.

One sad thing about us PNGans is that we think that bringing development is throwing money everywhere we go, organised gatherings and delivery endless speeches. But we turn to forget what we just told the crowds…the moment we leave, weaving unnecessary “goodbyes” to them. What PNG need now is people who are critical thinkers. Those representitives who can tame their own mind (self-control).But unfortunately not all PNGans have this quality only a hand full and thus, its is very hard for us to identify them.

Also systems and institutions set up since independence to prosecute MPs are all politicalized,.meaning that they are no longer working independently and providing effective quality service up to the required standard as before. They have political strings attached to it. For example, Police force. IF we really need to weed corruption, exposed every individuals, regardless of their status and how many offices he/she holds in the country. Whether he is Prime Minister or Speaker. We need tough institutions and very effectives laws to prosecute MPs, if it means to issue them LIFE SENTENCE and DEATH PENALTY. So be it. Because public office and government is not belong to individuals that have corrupt minds but belongs to society has a whole.

We dont need hard evidence, affidavits and witnesses…because Judicary is already compromise…and O’Namah Government for first time in the history of this country, are starting to issueing orders for police to arrest ordinary hard working citizens. O’Namah Goverment are doing this right now without going to proper institutions and following legal processes. And police are now employed as private security guards terrorizing simple helpless ordinary citizens in the name of crime, yet they are harboring high quality criminals. The only HARD evidence, affidavits and witnesses, is you, me and the good people of PNG.We must use our conscious mind, the God given-sense,to analyse people minds (not free handouts, free policies and sweet talks). KAINANTU PLEASE VOTE WISELY USING YOUR CONSCIENCE.

As you may notice I have started to post the same words under every thread until the election.

The general message will always be the same.

Jon Yogiyo, son of God, will deliver us all in to heaven.

Each vote for Jon Yogiyo is a vote for Jesus.

He makes good coffee too.

VOTE JON YOGIYO #24 IF YOU WANT PARADISE IN EHP.

Bernard Narokobi was an excellent example of a wonderful critical thinker and a very poor politician. He had his head too much in the clouds thinking and thinking with very little action.

So while I understand what you're saying and I don't disagree at one level, we're talking politicians here, not academics. The critical thinkers should be at NRI and our universities, and pollies should be coming to hear their ideas (they don't). The government bureaucrats should be doing all the infrastructure planning, etc. and the pollies come to find out what is in store for their electorate (they don't).

The pollies, instead, think they can do everything (they can't) and have gotten out of control. The reason why they're out of control is that we, the voters, let them reside full time in Moresby, we let them do what they want without demanding accountability, etc. Thus, we are to blame in the first instance, not the pollies, for the pathetic results we have today.

I am not a relative of Aaron Kasse but I see a lot of wisdom, maturity and experience in Aaron's campaigning style. He is well educated but is a simple man. I was his former student at Onerungka and he is such a person who would go out of his way to develop the school. I also witnessed him opening the Clinic at Sonofi and his speech was superb. I think he is the man for Kainantu Open.I am not gonna vote becoz I am not in K92 right now. But if would make an educated vote; it would be Aaron.

You MUST learn to write without contradicting yourself!

You can't say this:

"To date none of them have really convinced me."

And then a few sentences later say this:

"I think he is the man for Kainantu Open."

Either none of the candidates have really convinced you (the 1st part) or you've found a candidate who has convinced you (the second part).

Which is it?

I don't want to see you making this same silly mistake again.... ever!!!!!!!

The two names that I am familiar with are Mr. Esoke (and myself) who where student's of Mr Aaron Kasse. After I lelt school 35 years ago, I was surprised to see him remember me and talked to me nicely, because that time we had lots of respect for our teachers and stayed away from them. Well my vote one would have gone to Aaron but I am so farway and that would have been my choice. Not because he remembered me but he has experienced alot in his life and may have something to offer Kainantu open.

Recycled politicians not good...

June 21 2012, 7:40 AM

Sai Sailon Beseo, was awarded a ministry in the new government. However, at the ground level he has done nothing to deliver basic goods and services to his people. He has failed the people in K-92 as the elected representative of the people of Kainantu in the parliament. Kainantu doesn’t shine anymore as the true gateway to the highlands region. There is rubbish everywhere with maggots overflowing the bins beside the stores and market area. The town authority doesn’t even boarder to do their share of work to clean the place. Worse more, there is no existing public toilet for the masses. The town doesn’t have proper water supply and sewage system. Most houses built around the town area use pit toilets which make it very unhygienic. Law and order problems are rampant. People with bush knives freely walk the town posing a threat to safety of the public. Lus tintin lo ol old recycled gabbage. Try someone new!!!We need someone who can inspire various govt sectors in K-92 district to pull their resources together, and with the MPs office leading the way, deliver to the people.

Re: Recycled politicians not good...

The first obligation of all of us, including our pollies, shouldn't be to serve our tribe, town, or electorate - it should be to serve the country.

If all MPs do what you want and spend all their time addressing local problems (which the communities themselves should be organising and solving), then who will be looking after the nation? If MPs are fighting each other to pull money into their electorate so that it can't go to others, then who is achieving the kind of national planning that is essential for national productivity and efficiency?

Any nation that neglects the national level in order to serve the local level becomes a broken nation. It doesn't matter how much fresh produce freezers or subsidies you provide to local farmers, if the national highway and nationally controlled airstrip are not functioning, all that money gone to solve local problems goes to waste!

Very good insight... I think that is what people of kainantu should be looking for in the candidates contesting the 2012 kainantu open seat.

Educated elites of kainantu, I assume, would understand but how can we get these good messages we are discussing in this forum to our people in the villages?

Thanks Kas

OVer the recent decade, Kainantu has gone through some most nightmares in the history as never experienced before. Regardless whether it be K2, K1 or Agarabi, Kainantu will now have a REAL LEADER who will bring Kainantu together for change. Candidates who have been campaigning for K2, K1 or Agarabi (ethical racists) will NOT WIN. Regardless of vote buying, lampflaps etc.. God will choose a leader now because our problems have gone beyond our control.

Whats happening to the kainantu open results on the pngec results page? While all the other electorates in EHP are updating their progressive results every 2-3 hrs, Kainantu is still outdated, dating back to the 19th July...very frustrating for followers..!!!
