Simbu Governor 2012

June 9 2012 at 4:40 PM

Hello Simbus, as we move closer to polling just 2 weeks around the corner I want to assure you that Simon Gande has strong holds to win the governor post for Simbu(box#53). He has massive supports from Chauve, Karimui, Kumai, Gena Waugla, Narku and other LLGs. From men on the ground he will obtain 2nd plus 3rd votes from Gembogl, Kundiawa, Sinasine Yongomugl, Dom Kagul and Gumine. He will be the governor tomorrow through people's choice because he's their favourate candidate.

From previous discussions; our brothers from Chuave mentioned about a candidate from there so that could be Simon Gande. Biologically his mother is from Mangiro Bum-Gate and the father is from Gena Noglar. Simon was brought up in Karimui where he spent most of his time there in the late seventies because his father was a police man there. These are places where he buried his roots. People from these areas might want to add on.

Lets analyse where the other candidates will collect their support from but not assumptions.

Oh what ******** you're spreading about Gande. You haven't a clue what his support his, you haven't taken any surveys, you present no evidence..............yet you expect us to believe you??????!!?!!!!!!

You haven't said a single thing about Gande that has anything to do with judging how effective an MP he would be. Probably because none of those things matter to you!

You're just another mauswara promoting your own wantok or tribal member. Sorry mate here on pngscape some of us avoid tribalism, have come out of the caves, and want to discuss candidates and issues using FACTS and FIGURES that are backed up by EVIDENCE.

Though he has the supports and back ups will confirm after counting. There is always room for Simon Gande in this election. I saw his name on the media last week. Yes people from Karimui said much about him. On the streets of Chuave majority will go for him. What ever choice you have, Simbu need a leader to be creative, constructive and decisive at national and international level. Taim nogut na gutpla taim ol lida mas stap wantem yumi lon ples na helpim yumi.

Paul Siwi and Simon Gande are brothers throughout their days of education and behond. Last week Friday people saw them at Kundiawa Dickson oval having a discussion then Paul Siwi left. Who knows what they discussed. Maybe it's to do with the first and second votes????

EMTV NEWS: A SIMBU REGIONAL CANDIDATE REFUTED CLAIMS BY ANOTHER REGIONAL CANDIDATE

June 10 2012, 6:52 PM

EMTV NEWS: Simbu Regional Candidates June 6 2012, 5:10 PM

A SIMBU REGIONAL CANDIDATE REFUTED CLAIMS BY ANOTHER REGIONAL CANDIDATE
on Tuesday, 05 June 2012. Posted in News - EMTV

Following yesterday’s report on Candidates on close counter of violence, Mr. Waguo Goiye, a candidate for Simbu Governor’s seat strongly refuted claims by another Regional Candidate Paul Siwi that Mr. Goiye’s supporters attacked this particular candidate at Barawagi near Kerowagi, Simbu. Paul reported the incident to EMTV news on 4th June 2012.

News statement…
"Two regional candidates in Simbu and their supporters came close to fighting on Saturday in Kerowagi.Candidate Waguo Goiye and his armed tribesmen stopped candidate Paul Siwi’s convoy of supporters when they were returning to Kundiawa from a political rally in Kerowagi.
Mr. Siwi’s convoy sought help from soldiers in Minj who escorted them to Kundiawa.
The matter has been reported and police are carrying out investigations to establish Mr. Goiye’s motives. Both candidates are from Kerowagi."

Mr. Goiye claims that this news is totally wrong and damaging to his reputation. None of Mr. Goiye’s supporters were involved. It was discovered later that Paul’s unfortunate incident originated from Paul’s own actions when he ran for Kerowagi Open in the last National Elections to unseat a sitting MP at that time because Barawagi is the home of that former Kerowagi MP. Therefore the candidate should not make false accusations damaging Mr. Goiye’s image during this election period.

Waguo Goiye said: “Paul Siwi is like a son and for him to go out and make a public statement without proof is totally irresponsible and damaging. Mr Goiye said as a leader and father I forgive him for his unfounded accusations. Let us move on with good intend, truthfulness and peace during this election.”

Waguo Goiye is a strong leader who supports peaceful community co-existence is running for Simbu Governor’s seat and his main aims are to improve livelihood of all Simbu’s, utilize limited resources for revenue generation and boost human resources development in Simbu.

That this silliness came out AT ALL make both of them look like 2 little kids sitting in the water and throwing mud at each other. It brings down the reputation Simbu to have such petty fighting and it's obvious that both of them have something out for each other.

I say, this is an example of the pettiness that will be brought to parliament. Ignore Goiye, he seems like a child.

In the hope of our people of Gena for Simbu we want our brother & son to win this election. Wheather you are in or not is not an issue but you have 3 choices. Hope you won't forget your brother, it's our battle. Ol man bai ino nap tok yu blon Nogar, yu em man Gena and this is our race to win this Simbu Governor.

The sad thing is that these boards have become nearly useless, full up of people who blindly support this or that candidate but can't give us any details about their qualifications or anything else. These postings are becoming as useless as the happy face posters all over the country - they tell us NOTHING about the person so that we can judge whether or not they'd make a good representative for us.

Very sad but true. This internet experiment seems to basically be a failure.

Simbu's lets not say negative criticism on contestants. They are man enough to contest unlike some of us opening our big mouth for nothing. Be patient and wait to see our next governor after counting. That will be the time all will see who the governor is. Concentrate with your campaigns and support the candidate of your 3 choices. Who ever wins will be our governor and our leader for the next 5 years.

David Mori and Simon Gande are cousins biologically, ie: they are brothers.

Ol lain, we have 3 choices to vote for. You have said so much negative words regarding my candidate Simon Gande. No worries, em time blon politics I understand that. Don't hate him, he's a Simbu man after all.

There are many reasons for him contesting this election 2012 just like other contestants. Love him and cast either your 2nd or 3rd preference vote to Simon Gande box # 53. I know you have decided to vote for your 1st choice candidate and you still have 2 more votes to cast. This is your democratic right and you have the power in your hands now. That power will soon go to who ever you vote for.

Remember the person you hate today will one day be your good friend. Trust me, a vote to box #53 is not a bad choice.

Stop Predicting out of Your Dream

June 17 2012, 12:49 PM

Its' so amazing to read a group of political cronies or may be the same person making predictions of a particular candidate. So far I've never heard much on other Simbu candidates in this forum. Maybe, this website was developed by some one from Gembogl area. It's merely a handful of you who made alot of noices out of nothing.

Lets put it this way; stop guesing and predicting on one contestant only. Instead you should conduct a survey to confirm which candidates are most likely to compete in this election for Simbu Regional seat plus the other electorates. From these information you will have clear view of your candidates with others.

"Maski stap lon haus blon yu na toktok planti". Will prove it after the counting in 2 months time and who ever the winner is will be publised in this forum.

Enjoy your campaigns.

Simbu Governer

June 21 2012, 10:54 AM

Predictions made by our Simbu Provincial workers about Simbu Regional seat could be true. They mentioned that, a winner will be declared if he/she scores above 30 000 - 40 000 votes based on the electrol updates(eligible voters) and the number of contestants this year.

Updates from reliable sources at Simbu, our regional candidates haven't been to most LLGs and districts but only a handful made their tours and were acknowledged by the Simbus. How can they win if they are confined? We should consider that as eligible voters of this years election. Don't just vote for some one you haven't got any single clue of.

As we move closer to polling, take this time to analyse those candidates for both Open and Regional seats. Look at the past experiences, the qualifications they possessed and most importantly their personal lives. Are they honest, transperant, reliable and do they have visions with constructive policies to bring Simbu forward to the next era? Have they contribute to the development and growth of Simbu & PNG in their lives? Can he/she be a good leader for Simbu to represent us at the national and international levels? There are more questions you could ask youselves.

The power is in your hands now and it will soon be removed from you after the return of writs or formation of the next government. You vote for your future and not for your today.

Some notable candidates I heard of for you to decide on are:
1. Paul Siwi
2. Simon Gande
3. Paul Moya
4. Peter Kengemar

Simbus this is the best I came up with but not sure what you thought of. I'm very sure you made up your choices but remember we want Simbu to prosper and develop; we don't want to be like it is today. Casting a vote to one of the above candidate will change Simbu tomorrow for the better. You have 3x powerful choices to make inorder to change Simbu and now is the time not tomorrow.

Amen.

Simon Gandi in Police Custody

June 25 2012, 4:37 PM

The shooting last weekend at Chuave almost had Simon Gandi killed. The army accussed Simon of being in possession of fire arms and locked him up at Kundiawa police station although there is no evidence. Indeed, they were shooting at Simon whilst was travelling home from Elimbari. He had no weapon at all. Does that indicate's political intervention? If there is no evidence why are the armies claiming that he had weapons.

Politicians are hungry for power and they will take any means necessary to claim the power through money and violence. Candidates and supporters, take extra precautions when moving around. We don't want to hear similar incident in Simbu.

Get real!!!!

July 5 2012, 12:57 PM

I have been reading all these conversations about the next governer and i'm thinking...Are these real simbus talking? Common simbus Wake-up and Get Real coz simbus are known not only nationally but internationally for its vibrant political culture "nendre-tendre/nere-tere" but regardless of this culture by some intending candidates who have the means to do so simbus are also known for producing brains that are equiped with the'know hows'in any political arena.

Stop waisting ur time blurbing about ur favourite candidate coz simbus know whom to vote 4 the next governor and only the results will tell. To those of you who are talking about profiles for intending candidates, let me remind you that some profiles may be very colourful and some may not but politics is about having the charisim to be able to make tough decisions for the people they represent and evry simbus should be looking for this quality.

You can be a accademic,priest/pastor,prominant business personal,or you have done something good for your village/province/country in your means and ways and want to get into the parliament but if you can't make logical, brave, unpopular decisions in the parliament even if you will be fired! and you are swayed away by the current of the parliament 'the system in waigani' or thinkin you have earned this seat for your bread and butter and don't want to loose it to speak up for the people who gave you the mandate, what are u gonna bring to the simbus and png. THAT IS HOW WE DO NOT SEE SIGNIFICANT PROGESSIVE DEVELOPMENT IN A STEADY AND CONSISTANT MANNER eversince independence exception for Pawas Pakop in his term. 'pasim maus na vote gut'

Re: Get real!!!!

July 12 2012, 10:50 AM

From what i heard, Noah Kool used-to-be base is now no more his because 17 candidates are contesting the Simbu Regional seat from south Simbu. His chances now will depend on the votes he gets from his family ties, his networks, his popularity and the SDA community of Simbu..
Tobias Kulangs' endorsment of Peter Kengemar might cause the downfall of Kengemar because the supporters of Regional Candidates from Niglkande LLG didnt vote Kengemar because Kulang overlooked candidates from his own LLG to endorse Kengemar from Mitnande LLG (housline politics in play here)..from what i hear, the partnership between Kulang and Kengemar could also cause Kulang his seat..(hausline politics prediction)
Peter Kuman Kakep, yes, has got the base in all of Naurs and in Gena Waugla LLG and will do pickup from his networks all over Simbu.
Fr. Garia is basing in Kumai Bomai LLg as well as Digine LLG and has got network all over Simbu so will put up a good fight to those who want to get the seat from him...his only headache is that the catholic community did not support him this time round.
Wauglo Goiye, yes, will be in the race because he has based Lower Upper Koronigle LLG..other votes he picks up from his family ties, his campaigns, his popularity and also from his networks will determine his chances of winning the Regional....setback for wauglo Goiye is that the people from Lower Upper Koronigle LLG are fedup supporting him already..and..
Anton Goie, off course will give a good challenge to Fr. Garia for the seat.he has based Gena Waugla LLG..from what i heard, the real threat to Fr. Garia is Anton Goie because the catholic community have given him their support along with all the priests in Simbu. Anton Goie has collected votes all over Simbu from work he has done and community development projects he initiated. He has got very strong networks within the catholic community. Apart from other Regional candidates, i heard that he was able to cover almost 90-95% area in Simbu during the short campaign period. Now, and again it'll depend on the votes he gets from his family ties, his popularity, his campaign and his networks.
John Kerenga Gul, though he does not have a good base, his campaign has been so convincing and sweet and i heard he has collected votes all over Simbu..unfortunately, the campaign period was not enough for him to cover all of Simbu..
Norman Mondo is one Regional candidate who has strong base in Karamui and dagle tribe..he cant be ruled out in the race..
others have made loud noices in the last 2 months but are certain to lose are people like Paul Siwi, Dr. Clemet Waine, Geread Philips, Emily Dirua, Paul Moiya Kia, Simon Gandi, Jack Ninkama etc...others have contested for the sake of contesting and to gain popularity are people like, Joe Red Owa, Kai Stoney, Witne Wauglo, Ebraham Pamundi, Kumgi Peter, Dre Cicilia, Augustine Gari, Mary Maina, Steven Yandime, Joe Kumo, Peter Gul etc...
Well....counting will commence soon so lets keep our ears open...
I predict Anton Goie to win the Regional seat..

Interestingly, I am supprised that Peter Kuman Kapek's name has come into this block just before the counting starts. Wouldn't be supprised if this "old dog" come home.

Silent Obervor...you guesswork is as good as mine or any body.

Peter Kuman: has been bribing votes at most polling booths across the breath and lenght of Simbu. He has no strong solid base votes. He will only collect from Ward 13 Naur. Wards 12 & 11 from Gor will go to others including Peter Kengemar, Anton Goiye, and others. He will pick up votes in Karimui, Yongomugl, Sambugla Waugla and Kerowagi through bribes.

Anton Goiye: has no solid base support either with the Genas or the Sambugla Waugla's. We hear votes in Gena have gone else where and alot of candidates are splitting Sambugla Waugla votes including Peter Kuman, Peter Kengemar, Paul Siwi, Thomas Daugl etc,.

Peter Kengemar: Kulangs endorsement of Peter has infact solidified the Gembogls Niglkande LLG and Mitnande LLG. Their total 26,000 population is circulated 1-2-3 within. The Inaugls Steven vote 2 after elimination goes to Kengemar. Peter has excellent support in Yongomuls 14,000 population and generally across Kerowagi; Dagle-Silku Kamaneku-Bindiku Graiku.

Just my 2 toea

i agree with you...yes, i heard also that Peter Kuman Kakep has gone buying votes during the polling days so lets see how much he scores....and yes, Anton Goies' base was split by Peter Kengemar, Peter Kuman Kakep, Thomas Daugl and others but Kunabau people still maintains that he acquired 50% of the primary votes, also for Gena area.
Thanks for the info on the partnership between Kulang and Kengemar which i thought otherwise...the line will be drawn during counting time...so i'll be interested to watch how the votes go between Mitnande LLG and Niglguma LLG..
afterall, i would be glad if either of the three; Goie, Kengemar or Kool wins the regional seat because all are God fearing men with good christian backgrounds and respected leaders in the community. it now boils down to the factors i highlighted earlier; their networks, their family ties, their campaign coverage, policies and popularity..
and if you dont know, Goie and Kengemar are first cousins so dont be suprised if all the secondary votes from Kengemars' resthouse goes to Goie..lets keep our ears open during counting..I still maintain my prediction for Anton Goie to win the Regional Seat.

Wakai weh

so much of predictions on facts and situations but I am having this suspicious observation that the wins in the current election has been decided prior to the actual votings.

I am sayn this because the electronic counting system introduced in Kund/gem by-election last year proofed to be the most transparent medium of counting but the gov't of the day proposed the old system stressing on its expensive costings deploying heaps of armed forces and using heaps of counting officals on lump sums of money for allowance for corrupt practices...

And I'm also wondering y wud png party and pnc party form a coalition partner before the elections. And if you will see the two parties chose the 2 most popular and inflencial leaders in an electorate... and my guess is to give the win to one of png or pnc party who is closer to wining race... dat is for example if a canditate runs first and if pnc or png party runs second or third one of them gets into the win depending on whom to give according to basis where the people can agree to the win....

Iam seeing all these and m hoping our predicted leaders for the win gets into the final race....

i was actually there on the ground to many pollingboots during casting and observed many eligible voters asked questions whom to vote.At that moment, i was presuming that all regional candidates are action future governors according to simbuans.

Simbu Governor

July 17 2012, 2:10 AM

I appreciate silent observers deductions on the votes from Gembogl. In reality the Queen of Gembogl scored about 75% of votes in Gembogl and not Kengemar. Kulang has really made a mess for himself and Peter. The Queen owns box 16 if you must know and she is collecting from Simbu wide because her background is in community development and she has been with NGO's for a long time especially dealing overseas Aid and volunteers in Simbu... Meri tru igat Han Mak. Mark my words she has not been mentioned so far but she is known throughout Simbu. She is none other than Barbara Toiya from Kuglkane tribe, Gembogl. Steven's 2nd votes are hers and that she has strong support from Kerowagi, Yongomugl, and Karamui. Kerowagi is her second base because her husband Late Dorpar former Adminisitrator is from there. She is of course the DARK HORSE of the race for Governor. Very Silent and will be in the Race no doubt. Norman Mond is another that you should watch. He has got strong and powerful base that is UNBREAKABLE. Between the two they share 2nd and 3rd votes.Don't be surprised!Just one more week and Simbu may have d 1st Woman Governor,U tin wanem!

Yah, thanks for additions and substractions for upcoming simbu governor's post in view. Brekinde remember that, Nowadays in PNG, people go for someone whom they know. You and I, we go for someone whom we know most but very close to US. when it comes to politics, it just the same phenonmena. You can't give it away if you think you would or could not take it back in the future, if I am not wrong. Literally, you do not want to cast any vote that goes to someone to whom you don't know him/her for, of course in doubt of. Do you want to share the same buai yet, don't you? yes, of course. Therefore, you and i can go for candidates we familiar with. Apparently, no rigths to make justification and boosting our favouirte Queens and Kings and against the other Kings and Queens. We are from different areas with unique meaurements and backgrounds, and we have our very own close quality leaders to lookup on to share the same buai o. Please, relax and sit back. Yeh wait and see whos racing the Top Horse. den neiya prawa...

over.......

July 17 2012, 10:06 AM

Brekinde, thanks for the info...i know that Babras' Kuglkane tribe and Stevens' Inaugl tribe are two of the biggest in Niglkande LLG. If Steven and Babra can share their 2nd and 3rd votes, then yes, we cant rule out them being on the race for the Regional seat..
..its kinda early to draw conclusions on the in-house politics surrounding Kulangs endorsment of Kengemar until about 50% of boxes from Mitnande and Niglkande LLG is counted..
Though there are 73 candidates contesting the seat, candidates thinking that their hausline votes will be more than enough to buy their victory is totally wrong..they have to pickup good votes all over Simbu to win the regional seat...the following factors, which i mentioned in my earlier post; family ties, campaign coverage, policies, networks and popularity of the candidates will play a major part in determining how each candidates scored.
having saying that, i wont be supprised if some 5 - 10 candidates get eliminated with less that 100 votes.
Counting will start today so good luck to the 73 candidates and their supporters.

I am on the ground during pooling at wards 16 & 17 at Womatne and Barbara never fared well....em ino score lo Womatne. Kuglkanes literally told here to not interfer with Gembogl block votes and she has no base with Kulkanes. If she scores than em mas lo ples blo man blo em late Dorpar. Gurantee you she will score less than 300 votes in ward 17 votes.

Please stop the giaman.....counting started so just listen to the scores than talk later...Gembogls two favourite sons will still win the Kundiawa-Gembogl and Governor seats.

After Friday counting everything will become crystal clear.

There is no such thing as anti-Kulung, anti-Kengemar in Gembogl valley. All Gembogl is for Kulang and Kengemar.

Silent observer n Brekinde,
Governor's Seat is not for Kundiawa/Gembogl, it is for all Simbu alone. when it comes to leading district population. Karimui/Nomane 31, 000+ heads, Kerowaghi 30 000+ heads, kundiawa/Gembogl 29 000+ heads and so to other districts. I believe, Kerowaghi candidates will get the top 5 then minus 4 and equalling 1.

ene ta diro....

yoyo...yes Simbu resional seat doesnt belong to any particular district...if you read my post closely, my earlier discussions were confined to kundiawa/gembogl regional politics but i later mentioned that the winner of the seat will be somone who collects votes from all over Simbu and not only from his/her hauslain..i agree with your calculated guess that the winner might go back to Kerowagi district..i've made my observations and predictions and i still stand on it...the counting will start in a few hours time so lets see how it goes..

John Garia

Candidates ability to score all over the province has become clear now..Garia, Kool, & KenGemar are picking up exceptionally well on all counts...I've been keeping a close eye on all candidates on each count and there are 11 candidates maintaining their position in the top 25..others shoot in and out of the top 25 list...
there are 459 ballot boxes for Simbu Provincial seat so its too early to make conclusions now..
after 300 boxes are counted, then we can make predictions...but i agree, Garia, Kool and KenGemar are picking well..candidates also keeping up well are C.Waine, JK Gugl & PK Kakep...
