It's not only in Southern highlands, but also Enga, WHP and Simbu that there are growing reports that bribe taking has begun to switch votes in a number of key electorates.


SHP Leaders want Warkias replaced

The people of Southern Highlands are calling on the Electoral Commission to immediately replace elections manager David Warkias.

Warkias has had many allegations labelled against him.

Lai Valley People's Association chariman Karl YUawenaik Shopol and other community leaders wanted Warkias replaced before there was chaos in the province.

They called on the provincial election steering committee to maintain neutrality and tighten control and coordination of the elections.

Shopol said; "People in Mendi and Southern Highaldns are aware that some senior members of the election steering committee are affiliated to certain candidates."

Provincial election steering committee chairman Dr Bravy Koengsong and Imbongu MP Francis Awesa had also called for Warkias to be replaced before polling starts on June 23.
