Peter O'Neil is tip to be the next PM after this elections in this parliament. The Party is doing very well. As of today, 7 MPs declared and 19 leading and 17 on second o third placing in the race, which brings to a total of 36 yet to be declared. The next leading party is THE Party with 3 declared and 14 still in the race.
The Questions is can two Highlanders became PM and Deputy PM? Its history is if it happens. The formation of the next government is very interesting after the impasses and political lassing.
Lets wait and see. Personally I support the O'neil policies and wishes him the best in forming the next government.
Stealing is another purpose all the MP's are going for as you and I know lately 125,000 million from Nasfund was diverted into "Mangi Long Ples" aircraft company, but when you compare,Oniel can same time deliver what people deserves, let's waite and see if Oniel becomes next PM,what he will bring to the very poor people back in very remote areas of this country,as I've said many, many times,Oniel was answer to the prayers of people of Ialibu/Pangia back in 2002 and that's one thing I know of O'niel,Let God's Grace refill this country and the leaders.
Too me O'Neil is the new kind of Prime Minister that the people need. He is the first modern Prime Minister and so far he served the people of PNG well. To us tax payers, he put a little bit of money back into our pockets.
If he can deliver so much in so little time, imagine what he can do in 5 years and where we can move as a country in 5 years. Education and Health are two fundamentals of development that should be available to us all Papua New Guineans regardless of where we come from, and it should be fare to all PNGeans from boarder to boarder, coast to coast, and from the peaks of highlands mountains to the coastlines of Niugini.
My fellow wantoks,I would rather not to point my one finger to O,neil and four pointing back on me. its a hyphocrite.
we all make mistakes in life, that doesn't mean that we will always be a bad person, the answer is big NO. we allways learn from the past mistakes and move on and improve from there.so fox becareful what we say coz we are not perpect in everything what we do in life.
I Personally believe that everything fall on two types of people.can you tell me who those two groups?
With confirmed 14 declared PNC members, roughly 5 more PNC declarations are expected thus by law it is clear that PNC Leader will be invited by the GG to form govt. But BUT if another party can acquire more independent or buy of other MPs from other political partys and have the number, then they will be invited by the GG. From observation PNG Party has already bought one candidate from THE Party, seems that B.Namah has a plan to play money in loobying for candidates to be invited.
My top 3 candidates wich are most likely to be invited by GG to form Govnt are:
1. Oniel- PNC Party
2. Namah- Png Party
3. Somare-NA Party
I have not included Polye as i think he does not have the number nor the money to play into lureing candidates, also if you havnt noticed, he has never been in the opposition for long because he is a power hungry politician and will do anything to be in the current govenment of the day, always for his own benefits. Thus, he is most likely to team up with O'Niel or Somare to be there deputy in a coalition govenment.
Although at this time i think the best mutual person to run the country is Chan senior, for the betterment of PNG.
Somare, Wingti, Chan, Parkop, Agiru, Duma all behind O'Neill. Polye expected to join soon.
Namah left on his own...thats how it will be and seems too obvious.
Namah is not a PM material and never will be
nearly all are cunning figures. their allince will be seen as genuine if O'Neill governs for more than 6 months without any fumbles...otherwise expect the unexpected on the floor of parliament when nominations open for the PMs post...rememmber what happended to John Pundari when he had the majority to form government??
Where did Sir Mek come from the become PM? no where...was he aligned to a party before becoming PM? No..He was an independent in the middle benches and on the hour of nomination assumed the role of PDM Party Leader then to become the nominee for PM later the same day!
There are some very very smart political leaders in the O'Neil Camp. Somthing unexpected will eventuate on the floor of parliament as the elected MPs have the freedom to move around and join political parties they want to align with in the formation of the government.
These guys who are aligning with O'Neil have one thing in common. Thats why are being gathered at the same time because their mind is travelling to that very one direction. And that interest and focus is not to serve the people of this nation and not even for stability as they have declared. What they are after is to get their share of the nation's wealth through O'Neil.
They are opportunist and want to make use of the opportunity. Lets look at Pais Wingti, if he wins WHP seat then he thinks 2012 is the only opportunity he has and when O'Neil become the PM, he will engineer and direction the government. Somare in the government is a very cunning and wise old man, he will look at opportunities to ensure his desire is achieved, Julias Chan will be a neutral man.
And then leaders look at the senior leaders like Peter Ipatas, Agiru, Powes Parkop, Duma, Puka Temo and etc.
Peter Ipatas will definitely follow where Lapun Somare is. He is not that more influence though he talks big.
Agiru Pawa is a smart, visionary and political strategist. He doen't want to make mistakes and regret. He is a assertive and carful man. In this term, he will make sure to be in the O'Neil government to ensure ONeil do the right thing to provide the share of the Hela's wealth to the Hela people. He won't make big noises until Hela has all the neccesssary infrastructure and basic services.
Powes is any body's man. He is always neutral and he is the leader of the all the provices and people of the country so he is likely to be in the government or middle bench.
Duma will always look at the greener pasture as he is always a bussiness minded and money face. He is incapable of becoming PM or influencing others. He will look for a collision government.
Puka Temo is simply a follower and won't make any impact. Will just accept the status quo and will like to be in the comfort zones and company of the Oneil government.
This is my simple analysis of the alligning of mps and political parties with Oneil to form the government.
You'll never see them align based on what's right or what's wrong. Instead, the vast majority of them will align based on who gave them the biggest bribe or promised them the most goodies if they joined those ranks.
Anyone with any sense at all withholds the "payment" (bribe) until the action for which the payment is being offered has consumated.
But one thing is foresure very obvious that Oneil has used the tax payers money to fund and run his 2012 national elections.
Imagine of the number of candidtates that Oneil has endorsed in during this 2012 national elections? He has the highest number when compared with other major political parties.
Can someone tell me that Oneil use his pocket money to endorse all those candidates?? I would be very happy then. It seems that all the educated elites in this forum are blind folded by those two unmanageable and unsustainable free education and health policies. Don't you understand that they are political gymmicks to lure the voters and candidates so that Oneil can continue to rule???
Atleast its better to have some good analysis of the pros and cons of those free government services policies especially on the basis of their future funding and financial sustainability. Its easy to see the short term benefit and praise ONeil but in the future those policies will not work out right. They will become useless...
So I for one, I don't believe in these Oneil's free education and free health services...because these policies are fools and lazy man's policies.
Maybe, at this time we accept O'Neil as the choice for the PM post when compared with others of his caliber but he is not the best this country needs. Time may have its own schedule so we wait and anticipate smarter much competent and smarter leaders in the future.
Untill and unless all 109 members of parliament have the chance as O'Neil

Until and unless, all the 109 members of parliament have the chances as O'Neil then you would compare their leadership with ONeil's current display of leadership.
Otherwise, all Papua New Guinean's conclusion that O'Neil as the best PM is childish and premature. There are better, smarter and wiser leaders but unless they are given the equal opportunity as Oneil PNG will know who of the 109 members is the best Prime Minister material.
Basil is junior and Gary is unknown in the political arena.

These two are very immatured in playing the game right at the political arena. Do you think its easy for any junior leaders like Sam Basil and that unknown Gary or whoever to take the PM post?? You are immature in your thinking. Go and do more studies about POLITICS and how to become good PM.

Nationalist_I support your comment,PNG is the country with 7 million plus people,it not you small district,Png need mature leaders like Oniel,Wingti,Dr Puka Temo,Chan,Agiru,Ipatas, not young Basil and Juffa or Sallow minded Belda,,Lte's talk about things that make sense..
Please everyone, lets all support O'Neill as PM because the 9 months he was in power, he had delivered to the people and he was concluded as peoples PM. He was a mixed raised brought up in a village and had felt the lack of basic government services and his policies are to development rural districts and makesure government services reaches the rural areas.
I support him because in his electorate, he had delivered basic government services. The Pangia/Ialibu electorate was not like in 90's where government service delivery was zero to none. Roads deteriorated, healt centers non-functional, school building run down, no power/electricity, etc.
After 2002 till now, you will see road sealed all the way to Pangia and hence to last Wiru, EMTV, KUNDU TV, DIGICEL & BMOBILE coverage, schools and healt centres upgraded and functioning, electricity connected, Internet accessed in school, new court house, new police station, etc, etc. Thats O'Neill at its best.
I am not from Ialibu/Pangia electorate but I know O'Neill will deliver to the entire country if he is PM for the next 5 years. Mark my word, PNG will be in another level competing with SouthEast Asian countries.
Vote for O'Neill as he is a PM material.......coz PM win you win...motto for his election campaign since 2002.
Nationalist - I knew you or anyone else was going to say that.
The fact is, not one of our experienced hands are absolutely clean yet we keep on going on about who will be the PM. O'Neill is still the best at this point in time until such time when someone emerges out of some where with all the credentials and qualities all these bunch of scapers and bloggers blabber on about.
Who is Mr Perfect? Non one. Only God is perfect and I believe you all agree to that. God raises a leader and brings him or her down at His own way and time. You and I can only have paper degrees in Politics or whatever it is but will always fall short of wisdom - true wisdom that God instills in leaders he chooses and raises from the populace.
All these older and experienced pollitical heavies are taking sides with O'Neill because they have one thing in mind - to have a share of the wealth only the government warriors have access to in as so many ways made possible by the 'government of the day'.
Having said that, Polye should stick to his wantok Don Polye if he wants to stay for long. Don has the charisma and ability to keep his flock intact. He is also a very patient man who can stand with him through all these manouvering. Sir Julius Chan is one of such material. He knows he is too old to mess around in National political arena and is more focussed on getting development into his province yet has a lot of experience and expertise which can help build Peter O'Neill to better his performance to some level.
