Goroka under rampage after Declaration of Bire Kimisopa
July 31 2012 at 3:58 PM
Supporters of losing candidates for the Goroka Open Seat went on rampage this morning destroying property, food gardens, chasing and assaulting students of a particular high school along the highlands highway. Two stuents reported to be badly injured with bush knieve wounds and are in critical condition at the Goroka General Hospital. It's very tense at the moment in Goroka town, and everyone is fearing a major assault could be carried out following this incident.
Bire was already a multi-millionaire before he entered politics in 2002. Further, he already owns a house in Brisbane. He doesn't need Goroka District funds to prop up his business or to start-up any new ventures. Bire's declaration is a win for ALL the people of Goroka irrespective of how they voted.
Wake up to the reality of the world, Biri supporter:
1. Career businessmen have, as their first priority, the earning of money to put into their personal pocket. Their first priority is NOT to help other people, it is to help themselves.
2. Bire is a career businessman.
3. It has been a sad history of PNG that when career businessmen get into power (become MPs), putting money into their personal pockets CONTINUES to be their top priority. Either they steal money directly to fund their businesses, steal money directly to supplement the profits from their businesses, or use their position of power to make new deals for themselves so more money will continue to pour into their private pockets.
NONE OF THIS IS ETHICAL OR MORAL. IT IS CORRUPT.
Peter Yama, Julius Chan, the list is long of successful career businesmen like your Bire who become MPs to do good and end up doing very well indeed... for their personal pockets!
HI DIA PLIS DR EVIL JUST LIV DAT INSANE PS TOMMY ALONE COZ HIZ A LOZER AT THE END.
IGNORE HIM TOTALLY AND DON'T TRY TO SPOIL THE BLOG WITH EVERY JUNKS. COZ NOT ONLY PNG'IANS EXCESS THOSE BLOG COZ INTERNATIONAL FANS ALSO EXCESS. SAY SOMTHING THAT IS MATURED THAT WILL HELP EASTERN HIGHLANDS AND OTHER'S N PLIS STOP POLLUTING THE WHOLE BLOG.
OH ! idiot y not you correct me by looking up the word and by not sitting urself up and farting the whole matters out! .sumting to think bout that n not argueing like A LITTLE LUNATIC THAT UR B did up above. THINK MATUREDLY AND STOP WHIMPING LIKE A CHILD, silly.
Who ever this housesick cantteen is your are ********, you wanpla longlong ples man stret ya!!!
Bire em pipiya man stret before 2002, I worked in telicolm goroka before and i knew him. Bire use to cry in my office because he couldn't pay his bills and was afraid he would be arrested. So my friend you noken kolim disla pipiya still man millionaire, because em kamap biksot lo money blo mipla ol goroka ya.
Its been said that Goroka people are reknown for 2 things: believing lies and jealousy. This is proven by this phsycopath who doesn't know what hard work is. Opportunity is presented to us all. Some capitalize, and some don't. And the banks are there to prove of his relationship with them to help make him a millionaire. Secondly, have we checked the district treasury to see where goroka district funds were expended?
Grow up. Appreciate the quality and seer hardwork of people and shut up. Bloody useless.

You can say all you want about Bire Kimisopa, but you WILL NEVER get him to steal people's money. He is a very transparent leader, a man with integrity, and has never and will never steal from people's money. He was already rich before he went to politics. He does not need the people's money to buy himself house's in Brisbane or Cairns.

Julius Chan, Pais Wingti, Peter Yama, and ooohhhhhhh soooo many of our past leaders were also rich when they came to office and guess what? THEY STOLE! Once you have a mindset to make money for your personal pocket doing business, it's hard to get that out of your system even when you're supposed to be serving the people.
This point has been made before, why are you so oblivious to it? Your point is shown to be invalid. Next argument?
Bire Kimisopa will bring hope into the faces of PNG
August 1 2012, 9:56 AM
Congratulations Hon. Bire Kimisopa!!!
Kimisopa deserves the win. He is the man for Goroka. One unique quality in Bire is that he maintains his integrity despite circumstances. EHP and PNG needs leaders who have the caliber of Bire, a very committed christian and a no non-sense to corruption. He will bring in again some very quality leadership into the floor of parliament despite where ever side he may ended up in.
He is also a prime minister material and I beleive EHP and PNG need Bire and his win is a gain for the electorate, province and the country as a whole.
May God bless you and give you his wisdom to you Hon.Bire Kimisopa to provide the direction and bring some lights into the faces of our people in the electorate, province and the nation.
When the evil leaders bows out where they can not be retained, the righteous goes in and make the neccessary change to bring light and shed some hope into the country.
Bire is now our memeber elect for Goroka....
Enough of LUK LAST and we may now continue to live our lives.
Sorry for those who have voted 1ST for their horse and wasted their 2 and 3.
He has won by a difference of 66.It's ironic that at Rotary Park we gave you 499.
Once again we had made history ......
Go and bring Goroka to the next level.....
You dont have to campaign after 5 years.....Your campaign starts today.
Goodluck & Godspeed...Junctionjuice signing off to Bane....

I think the poster you're replying to is far more ethical than you are. Here you are, actually arguing that we should accept corruption and accept the the biggest cheater won.
It's people with such low, low standards as yourself that pulls our country down to being a laughable banana republic. No country has ever developed with the kinds of low standards you promote. No country has any world respect that promotes what you promote. You're really pretty pathetic to get on an international internet forum and actually promoting that we should "just accept corruption".
I hope this case is taken to court and that the Grand Cheater Bire is reminded again and again here on pngscape of what he did. No people on earth are deserving of having a cheat as their representative.
Bire probably bribed better than his competetors. Apere Goso, Mr. Yes, MVL, Aiye, Thomson and the whole pack. You see, bribery is almost synonymous with politics in PNG, you can't separate the two (politics & bribery). Bribery can be in the form of gifts and cash.
If every one in Goroka chooses not to be bribed (cash or gifts) than your statement can be validated. Our candidates are only responding to what the people want. This is a fact. Yes it is pathetic but it is true.
I am a good citizen of Goroka and condone unjust acts, however, I can't decide for every one....
Bata, full sapot...Candidate s are not corrupt. Voters are far worse. They think about getting money to vote so who is corrupt and who is not??? Yumi olgeta bagarap pinis.
Bire win pinis, toktok planti olsem ol liklik meri yah maski. If your cadidate lost, accept the fact he didn't play it smart. He was stupid and so he lost. Everyone is corrupt, both candidates and voters.
This is fact. Get on with life, ol bai kam kisim spun na putim raise lon maus blo yu??? Em blo ol na ol pikini na meri na concubine blo ol...
I think strategy is the key. Money is to fill apetite, but strategy wins minds and souls. I think Bire has played the game many more times than others and learnt his lessons well and adapted to change. The result speaks of this.
Losing candidates should not reort to violance, but do a postmortem on their strategy and prepare well for 2017. For now we can only have one winner and people of Goroka have spoken. He won on 2 & 3 preferences and not on 1st. That we all should know.
Olsem na lusim. Mipela wanbel olsem fit man go bek long makim Goroka long parliament.
Bire Grand Cheater? Ha ha ha. Look at the winning margin. Is that a figure of a cheater? Oh I forgot. Was one of the candidates sneaked money into the counting area one Saturday while Bire was in Church? Wasn't it the same candidate who promised to buy buses for areas that voted for hime? wasn't it the same candidate that loaded so many buses with voters to various polling areas to poll. And who was it that loaded supporters to one some polling areas to disrupt bases where Bire had strong support? Are these acts of respected leaders or cheaters? Tingting na toktok. Yu toktok olsem man pulam long belhat becoz Bire is successful in so many areas you cannot even match.
Lusim na joinim em long kamapim Goroka if you truly have Goroka in your heart. Otherwise shut up and hang your head in shame for crucifying a respected, dignified leader recognized nationally and abroad except blind fools like you.
Sorry brata, but we know the game of exaggeration. Bire is hardly known that widely nationally or internationally. Just because 1% know of him and 99% do not, doesn't mean you can make such sweeping generalisations and not be caught with your trousers down!
5pla years bire stap inside lo parlament olsem mp blo goroka na police minister ya em mekim wonem something.noken long long, toktok blo bire sa sweet tasol nogat action. ACTION SPEAKS LOUDER THAN WORDS, makim ol action man insted lo ol mouswara man nambout ya.Is there any service bire did for Goroka, apart from buying lables and building his stakehouse??
Jerry, you are full of **** and you are a no brainer. If Bire is a con man, how come the international community and the respected leaders of this country have a very high regard for him. He is ONE EASTERN HIGHLANDER who can hold himself at any level, and is a potential Prime Minister candidate. It looks like you have a personal issue against him. If you have any sensible things to say please state your facts. Dont go on a public notice board and rubbish a man like Bire Kimisopa. If you think he is corrupt, state the facts and your source.
If you do not notice, this country is going to the dogs, and we need good and honest people like Bire Kimisopa.
You have clearly shown to the people of PNG that you are nothing but rubbish and that is exactly what you are dishing out on this public notice board.
Goroka is in good hands and that is all that matters...................
I am uninformed, so please enlighten me. How is he a conman and how were the ballot papers hijacked? You would get our support if facts, figures, dates, names of witnesses are provided. If no substance, then you don't get my support.
It is trully sad to see the state of mind people are in. Bire Kimisopa is very well and is in Australia visiting his children who are attending schools in Australia. Why on earth would someone make up a sick story like this unless off course this person is sick in the head himself.
Be careful what you wish for other people, especially GOD fearing people. What you wish might just happen to you.
Go Bire Kimisopa.............. You are too good for simple minded people like this.
Why Doesn't Kimisopa Send His Kids to PNG Schools Like the Rest of Us?
August 9 2012, 5:21 PM
fairness and equality for all,
So this is why we are so jealous and pouring our rubbish to the public. Tok stret. Is he using public money? Goodness when will we appreciate that one of our own sons is affluent and intelligent and on par with Western Highlanders and Engans and Sothern Highlanders who are getting best Education in Australia? Why envy and wish he didn't succeed?
It seems we cannot stop. We keep on finding so many reasons to crucifiy one Eastern Highlander who has set a very high benchmark.I guess small people talk about other people, while big people like Kimisopa talks about big things. This is the difference. The less we talk about other people and focus on how we can succeed in life - Goroka will change. Otherwise we will be chained to our bad attitudes and go to grave losers, leaving no legacy for our children.
You are in this category.
Re: Why Doesn't Kimisopa Send His Kids to PNG Schools Like the Rest of Us?
August 9 2012, 5:36 PM
If Kimisopa was really "one with the people" and "had a heart for the people" he would have used his wealth to improve the schools in EHP as a private citizen (think of Kelly Naru), not using that money to allow his kids to escape the pathetic PNG educational system by being school overseas.
How Kimisopa decides to spend his money, given 2 choices, says more than he'd like us to notice about how much he truly "cares for the people".
There are many very rich people who live like grassroots and contribute their wealth in many ways to improve the lives of those around them. Kimisopa, in contrast, sends his kids to Aussie schools.
Re: Why Doesn't Kimisopa Send His Kids to PNG Schools Like the Rest of Us?
August 10 2012, 5:17 PM
I hate to wake you up to the real world but "fairness and equality towards all" has absolutely nothing to do with jealousy. Probably the reason why "jealousy" keeps coming into your mind on this thread is because you have a problem with it yourself! Ever think about that one?
Kimisopa sending his kids to Aussie schools goes against constitutional values
August 11 2012, 6:28 AM
To add to what you said, may I ask the original poster whether the fairness and equality provision of our constitution was written because the writers of our consitution were jealous?????????
It is unfair and unequal for leaders like Bire to send their kids overseas to school while doing next to nothing to upgrade our own schools.
His true colour show. He's just like any other businessman, he's mostly concerned with himself and his own family's wealth and wellbeing.
Ideally we need church leaders to be our political leaders. The reason why this has failed is because out pastors are generally unprofessional and have never developed the spiritual strength they were supposed to have created within themselves to resist temptation. Thus, they take a vow of poverty but once they come close to money they can no longer resist it.
Instead, we need true spiritual pastoral leaders to guide our nation.
I worry that Bire Kimisopa is going to be another in a long string of loswers that show how stupid we are as voters.
yeh im positive there will be a bai election because, Bire is very sick right know and is in critical condition, and also bire hijected some of the ballot papers. There is proof and evidance to his foul play, and other candidates will be taking bire to court.
Do we mean by-election? Now, lets put things into perspective. If there was bribery and prove, then let us await the court of disputed return for the verdict. Second, this crap about Bire in hospital with Aids and whatever other ailments is from a person who is of a very low life. You know every word that proceeds from your mouth either bring a blessing or a curse. And the ones from you will reverse back to you. You will live a miserable life for accusing an upright man who is full of wisdom and God fearing. My advice is judge him after 5 years and see whether Goroka has sent the right man to Waigani. Don't judge too early and there will be no by-election and court of disputed return will be a total waste of time.
Just before the declaration and sighning of members in parliament
Bire suffered a serious or cronic ashma attack and was
Medivac down brisbane.
He is still in serious conditions. He conditions warrants serious
and close attendtions by doctors and nurses.
He still had not sign declaration yet.
He is at the hightest stage of ashma and is dangerous for him.
Re: WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY "HIGHTEST'???!?!!?!?!?!?!?!!
August 9 2012, 8:21 AM
Nope. I suspect that the complainers are fellow Papua New Guineans trying to stop the unending embarrassment with unbelievably bad english indicating to the whole world that we're ALL dumb and stupid (which isn't true, but that's the indication).
This isn't a chat room so you have time to spell things right. Others do, why can't we?
Never hide your inadequacies behind lame excuses you'll never learn much following that kind of strategy.
Bire Kimisopa is a GOD fearing man, a man with intergrity, and is a well respected man in the community and the country. For you to say something like this without any prove what so ever is really sad. You have just displayed to the whole world how sick you are in you head and the level of hatred and anger you have in you. Please get some help.
May God trully forgive you for the anger, hatred and lies you are posting on the web. May HIS peace be with you brother.
More people read these postings than you think. The more people talk, the more eventually it will reach someone who really starts blowing up the information. Thus, more toktok is highly encouraged on this beautiful forum!
Bire is not a tru leader he has shown corruption at the lottery park polling area- eye witness. He must be suffering during the last five years. Sore nogut bai kisim heart attack kolostu nau.
So many corruption during polling and counting. why not allow honest people to be elected. Everyone supporters and canidates are all corrupt. Ol ting canidate or member bilong ol em kofi garden or investment company bilong ol OH? Soreee em go sidaun gut wantaim famili na yu bai suffer 5 years na wet gen lon votim em? Maski Lusim tinting.
Politic's is over, and people have moved on. What is your problem. If you have proof that Bire was involved in foul play at the rotary park, spell it out or better still why don't you volunteer to be a witness for one of the disgruntle loosing candidate and take it to court. Bire Kimisopa is a better choice for Goroka, the ballot has spoken.
You do not know Bire Kimisopa nor are you well versed with the happenings in PNG and therefore you cannot be blame for your ignorance.
Bire is a man with impeccable record locally, nationally, and internationally and you will never be in his shoes. Thomson Harokave couldn't even fit his shoe's in the 5years he was in power so Mr Savepes, you can be rest assured that Goroka is in very good hands.
Bire is now the elected member for Goroka .... period...... , wait for your turn in 2017...........
I am a Goroka Open Candidate and I have accepted that there is only one person who can be the people's choice ore representitive in Parliament. Firstly, I would like to say sorry for instigating the riot and destruction of Kabiufa Adventist Secondary School and its staff and students.
I appeal to the other loosing candidates and supporters not to impead progress and let Mr. Kimisopa lead our beautiful District. I have told my supporters to accept the outcome and move forward with our normal lives and business.
I believe we the people of Goroka are law abiding and rational in our understanding and will persue good for our district.
He's gonna be a disaster, likely to start stealing the moment temptation strikes him in government. Watch him like a dog to make sure he doesn't do anything he shouldn't.
Bring his kids back to PNG to go to school and stop running away from EHP's schools.
The five years Bire stayed home he must have said this Time I will do better, carrying with him the name tag "recycled politician". In carpentry they say measure twice and cut once. I hope Bire has learnt his lesson in hibernation in the last five years and will bring much lost glory of Goroka back.
Same goes to memeber for Daulo, forgot his name. Same to Henganofi. You guys are great at sending "recycled politician". Good on you.
Unggai Bena service kilim yupela na lon lon istap for the peanuts given. We desire much more then what has been the last five years while selling our land to only 6 feet onwership.
Julie Soso luk luk lo human resource development. Mals em fail lo hap. Education will empower a oerson for life.
Lets get out of the mentalilty of kisim kisim tasol. As the Chinese saying goes "teach a man to fish" and he will look after his family. Like wise education in EHP needs a overhaul.
Post election ting ting tasol.
Why do you think sending back recycled politicians is something to be praised? It looks to me like an indication that they can't find any truly good people and thus have to recycle the old rubbish again.
It seem most of you have nothing to do, stop wasting your time let him lead.
Off course you cry for BAI Election and I would too if my candidate did not win.
Educated folks like you guys are much better off knowing spreading false agendas where most people in the village may assume it is true and further exaggerate making matters worse and giving false impressions. If you want to help I suggest you put financial contribution to those group of candidates who lost and are bringing the matter to the court of disputed returns.
Na noken toktok lo sevis cause yumi bai go long kot so taim yu go bai election na win or court rule in favour of currnet leader then service bai flow.
Mr. Harokaveh should be well aware of that when Bire brought the matter to the court of diputed returns 2007.
I've read through all the posts here and one way or the way all sentiments have one aspect in common - a free and fair election, a better Goroka and Eastern Highlands. To start with Eastern Highlands and Goroka used to be the hub of all highlanders peaceful retreat. People from all over the highlands would come to the EH for beer, quite time with friends and families, business forums, political camps etc because it provided the absolute comfort and peace that was lacking in other highlands provinces. It is very disturbing to see the once hub of peace and hope going into the hands of opportunists and a few power hungary corrupt hooligans. Come on you Nokondi's, why can't you regroup and bring that pride back.
The supporters of the loosing candidates did not go on riot, they only warned bire's supporters not to celebrate in town. And no student was abused, it was a result of a brawl between studant of the particular school. If it was a riot bire wouldn't board the plane to morsby,ol ba holim em na brookim em lo hap ya.
I have read with great interest the arguments for and against Bire Kimisopa. In all fairness, much of the arguments raised were more personal attacks and had nothing to do with his ability or inability to provide equitable leadership. Can he lead the electorate, province, and the nation?
I never voted for him because I do not like his leadership and also no former member for Goroka has ever been re-elected. I was quite supprised he won the election.
He has set out to investigate Thompson Haroqkaveh. My question is, which MP in this parliament is investigating their former MP's on how the DSIP and other government grants were being used? If Bire is corrupt he will never ever investigate TH because after 2017, the new MP will investigate him too!
Tom is one of the small time commentator who cannot distinguish between a mumu hole leaders (village lida) and a national and international leader. Bire happens to be over qualified for both. These two are needed by everyone but only where their spehere of influence extends to only.
Only fools dwell on the personal stuff but the intelligent look beyond the faults and envision a brighter future for everyone.
For all Eastern Highlanders, jealousy is our biggest stumbling block to development.
Much tok tok ln ol leaders.. Every person have a own rights and we must respect them....
