Ramu suger, SP Brewery and now the forestry lands are gone. Although, insiders witin Puka's camp may feel optimistic about his re-election chances nonetheless let us call upon the spirits of all the Papua New Guineans of past and present to deny him from realising his political ambitions or rather punish him for giving away our rightful pocession of the cultural lands to the foreigners.Besides, there is no certainity in politics for anyone to be claiming a victory well before the polling has even started. YOU NEVER KNOW THAT THE MOOD OF THE VOTERS COULD CHANGE FROM NOW ON.
Re: fortunate for foreigners unfortunate for PNGs that Puka Temu will win

One part of one report on the internet on the PNG land grab disaster:
"Whatever the reservations of the National Forest Board, the subsequent grant of the SABL to Baina Agro-Forest Ltd was apparently celebrated by the Lands Minister, Puka Temu, when he signed a ‘project agreement’ between his own department, the Central Provincial Government, Nasyl No. 98, and ‘the Baina landowners’. Baina Agro-Forest Ltd was described as a joint venture between the Central Provincial Government, the Kairuku LLG (in Kairuku-Hiri District) and the Woitape LLG (in Goilala District), which would jointly hold 70 percent of the equity, and Nasyl No. 98, which would hold the remaining 30 percent. The Minister reportedly told the local landowners that ‘[w]e need more examples, like yourselves around the country to put out their land to come up with these types of agreements that will bring development’ (The National, 31 October 2005)."
Puka "land grab" Temu is in back of the idiotic rice project which will deprive all the landowners in the area of ALL rights to their land for the next 4 generations - 99 years. Puka Temu has no respect for customary land rights, all he cares about it money.
What happended to the man we looked upon to be the first PM from Central Province. If he cannot manage his own family, how can he manage the people. turn the table around, how would you feel if another man steal you wife and do what you did to her. But I know that despite what you did, your good wife will remain faithful. May God bless her.
I had thought Sir Puka was as clean as a whistle when he and Bart Philemon quit NA (because of Arthur Somare) and joined the Opposition?
Sir Puka, why are you giving away the future of PNG children including your bubus and grandbubus to foreigners? You will find that your grandbubus and great grandbubus won't find jobs in their own birth country because of people like you. You have simply sold PNG's arse to foreigners for a quick short term gain for your selfish self. Perhaps you should just offer your grand daughters as well to the Asians you have become acquainted with because these Kongkongs won't be employing your grand daughters in the future. They will bring their own wantoks in and make your grand daughters become slave prostitutes and labourers. Thanks to you - 'great dumb of a selfish leader'!
As a national leader you are suppose to look after the overall interests of your people and country, not for yourself. That is what being a national leader is all about. Your actions have proven that you have been in Parliament for you own personal gain.
You are just as bad as Arthur Somare and Belden Nama. Shame on you and shame on those who continue to vote for you.
Sir Temu is your leader, now start to accept it as a fact.
Central people are bunch of lazy people, you cry over your land too much, what have you done to your land for your children ah?
you see, when you send you child to school in a remote Bereina village the teacher explains different types of balanced meal, some on the list are rice, canned fish, sugar, floor etc. The kids eating saga and kaukau all their lives look forward to these new types of food. You need money to buy these food, so what do you do? Toil the soil but hello, you do not know how, so where do you fit in all these? confused!!!!
Great leaders make touch decisions with vision, if you think positive it will see the potentials, otherwise bai yu hangre long rice na graun bai stap yet na bai ol plannin yu long em.
Free up the land in Central and register under your ILGs and hold titles and sell them. You are a rich man sitting and complaining, get up and be counted as power broker, not complainer.
The corrupt Loani henao uses arguments just like yours to essentially take away land forever from customary landowners.
Papa grauns have every right to keep their land idle if they want. After all, it's THEIR land, not the land of all the wannabe millionaires that want to grab that land.
Yes, toil the land to get development but realise that you'll only get the table scraps if you let someone else toil your land and all you do is sit back and lease it. Once you sign a 99 year lease, neither your children, nor your grandchildren, nor your greatgrandchildren, hor probably even your great great grandchildren will be able to use that land and maybe not even be able to walk on it. The leasee will have ALL land rights.
The system really only benefits foreigners which is why it is the foreigners that are pushing land leases as hard as they are. They all have big kina signs in their eyes. Foreigners getting rich off papa graun's land.
It's better just to leave the land unused than allow such a massive ripoff.
