Honourable Paru Aihi, Member for Kairuku Hiri. He is one kind of a leader who puts his PEOPLE first, before his personal pride, integrity and even his principles. Whilst considering his political manuvours, he knew that critics would be calling him names but those were small things compared to the services to his people. Given the nature of politics, it was critical for him to break alliances in order to deliver services to his people. His first priority is to deliver services to his people so he was prepared to forgo party politics to fufill that purpose. He was prepared to risk voter confidence to solve issues of the moment.
For example when Angabunga bridge fell, Constitution was the hottest issue in the air. It was not the right time for any right thinking person to contradict the mood. However, Hon Paru Aihi made a move to join PNC, a party which seemingly undermines the constitution by its actions. Paru is not a politician, he is a leader who is prepared to risk his personal reputation and political milage to serve his peoples needs. At that moment his people needed a bridge not a constitution. His actions are dictated by the needs of his people - not for his own fame, reputation and glory.
What he does in parliament is his business, so long as his actions result in positive benefits to HIS PEOPLE.
It is important to consider the reasons and purposes behind actions and not be carried away by the unfolding drama.

Tampering Of Ballot Boxes

I guess it fully serves your purpose to breed on alegations to smear someones name and character.
Tampering of ballot boxes is a criminal offence and whoever is involved must be punished.
Allegations of a relative being involved does not render the member guilty of such offence untill proven through proper investigations.
At the end of the investigation you will know that Paru Aihi had nothing to do with this incident.
After the investigations I will come back to reconcile your memory.

ohhhh plisssss! no corrupt pollie ever is found guilty much less goes to prison. its ridiculous to say in png that you're innocent until proven guilty because hardly anyone is proven guilty!!!
Most of the rumours on this site that are backed up by good detail turn out to almost certainly be true.
O'Neill has never been proven guilty of any wrongdoing but anyone reading the NSF scandal papers plus noticed O'Neills own weak defence can figure out pretty quickly that he's guilty. Same with Parkop.

I want to have this on record that this is not about Peter O'neil or Powes Pakop or the other politicians.
This is about the individual Paru Aihi.
You will know by the end of the investigations that ballot box tampering in KH elections had nothing to do with the person Paru Aihi.
Do not stereo-type and generalize... get real ...and know the person you are talking about.

In another polling incident, suppoters allegedly of Saki Hanua KH intending candidate, bashed up polling securities leaving one in critical condition and ran off with some ballot boxes.
From your perspective this be Saki Hanua's fault is it?
