Here is a picture of a wig I just cut up and put a strip down my head for Halloween. The amazing part is people that had just seen me last week without hair said wow why did you shave the sides of your head like that. This this was just thrown on my head like a carcass and people still did not believe it was a wig just a really stupid hair cut. I always tell people that wearing hair is all in your mind most people will never ever believe you are wearing a wig, especially if you tell them, then the believe it less. They kept asking me what I was dressed as and I said a dork, and that my wife was an escort I hired.

Great photo and story Maykell, thanks for sharing that. Like I had told you before, I really admire your carefree approach to wearing! You are the prime example of how to live life and not focus on your hairpiece or be paranoid. Once you get the specs. down and it looks good, nobody is going to figure it out.

The comments from friends just goes to show how little people pay attention to details like our hair, etc. (Since they didn't remember you not having hair the week before)

and Eric you hit the nail on the head... when my attachment is spot on [easier now that my cap is pleated] and its really looking good, I get closer and closer to that open-mindset where id almost want to show it off! ..almost

Also ive noted Maykells suggestions for the ventilation illustration and have come up with a way to demonstrate the angle issue.. i had to work this weekend but hopefully i can get v2 uploaded soon SO I CAN GET MY ORDER IN!! 8D

Thank you both for your drawings of the ventilation angles, it's going to help out a lot of people...including the factory so that they can "see it" rather than just reading the written instructions.

That's great that you have your attachment and template down to a science cannedair, it makes things so much easier. I can't even imagine how many base variations, ventilations, densities, etc. that I've tried....but I am thankful that it's always been at a reasonable price. I really feel for those that are still paying the large market places thousands...because you don't really have the option of "experimenting".

Quick story on the realism and how these can fool even those closest to us...a few years ago I was drying my piece in the living room, and had it sitting on a wig head on the mantle above our gas fireplace (after a removal and washing). One of my sisters came over and I forgot it was there until about 5 minutes into visiting!! LOL I said (with a red face) "well, so much for that secret"...turned out she hadn't even noticed it yet. I told her for the first time that I wore a wig...she laughed and didn't believe me, so I took off my baseball cap and the look she gave me was priceless. I did switch from concealers and thinning hair to a low density piece, so it's not like it was an obvious change, but it still made me feel great to know she was stunned at how real a hairpiece can look.

Talk about wig heads. I have my pieces lined up on my dresser on wig heads. My wife calls me Allan Brady. For those of you that remember the Dick Van Dyke show, Alan Brady, (Carl Reiner), used to have his pieces on heads in his office. LOL

That's hilarious Craig....I have a cupboard in our walk-in closet and both of the long shelves have wig heads with various wigs on them..as well as a stack of wigs in the extra space on each shelf.

It makes me realize that I probably need to get rid of some of the backups that I know I'll never wear again. I have quite a few pieces where I was just experimenting with bases, ventilation, density, etc. I don't know why it's so tough to throw one out, I'm starting to think I may have a problem like the folks on that "Hoarders" show. ha ha

My Halloween look, I had a stock piece here and just gave it a rough slight cut for tha goth/emo dude type look, btw im 34yo and got asked for ID all night hehe have not had that happen in the last 8 or so years...

For just taking a stock and messing with it a bit, that looks great....I can see why you were carded, you look nothing close to 34 with that hairstyle!
