I'm making this post for the people who might be thinking of giving NWL a try. I had the first piece That Eric sent me cut in today. IT'S TOP NOTCH COMPARED TO ANY OF MY PREVIOUS ONES. For the first time ever I didn't have to do any knot bleaching. The hairline was exactly what I asked for. The crown was actually in just the right place for once. All in all I think I was most impressed by the hair itself. The density was spot on and the quality of the hair was better than ever before. One thing I've noticed with internet hair is communication is always an issue. Eric's level of customer service and communication are second to none. From someone who wears and works with hair daily...Give NWL a try. You will be glad you did.

This is quite an auspicious beginning for Eric and NWLace. Even the pros like Jeff are impressed. I've tried 3 different bases with Eric so far (not because anything was wrong with the first one, but because I wanted to experiment), and now I'm waiting on the 4th and final (well, maybe) base that I'm gonna try. All have been superb.
The next negative thing I hear about NWLace pieces or the customer service will be the first. Pretty danged good track record after more than 9 months in business.

Thanks Jeff, that really means a lot coming from a long time stylist.
I sincerely thank all of you for the support and I really appreciate the kind words above in this thread and others.
I won't lie, this is not easy and I am married to it time wise (especially juggling my career at the same time)...but my wife is a tremendous help with a lot of it and has taken the time to understand as much as she can to help me out with various things that would take me too much time if it was just me.
I appreciate the fact that people can tell that I truly care about all of this beyond just having a business and I like to help out as much as I can. That in itself makes this all worth it.
I also couldn't ask for a more helpful and laid back forum and this was something that was so important to me going into this. I like the fact that so many are willing to share their knowledge and help each other out. These forums are so very important and why I wear today, I still learn new things on a regular basis.

I guess it just goes to show, it's not all that tough. Offer a quality product at a good price, and good customer service and you can succeed. Amazing how so many guys in this business mucked it up.

To use words of caution, all businesses carry a risk. North West Lace is only in its infancy, anything can happen in the future. However I wish it all the success and I hope it remains around for a very long time, and does not come into the difficulties that other similar businesses may have faced.
I think that fair and logical

Eric does this in this "spare time" so actually there is an element of toughness. I would certainly not say quote "its not that tough" especially when you have an occupation to juggle as well.

I completely understand what you are saying siroadster and like I was saying above this is definitely tough at times. With something hand made like this, you're not going to get everything back correct 100% of the time. I just think the key is having a very good factory and a factory rep. that understands and cares about paying attention to details. I also have to pay attention and make sure I understand what people want. Mistakes are still going to happen from time to time, but that's where it falls on me to make it right.
I think what Craig was getting at was that there are some basic elements to this that can get missed. Overall, this is hard at times because it can be stressful and it's very time consuming. What isn't hard is treating people right and doing your best to answer questions, etc.
I'm not going to be everyone's #1, there's no way to make everyone happy in life...but I will tell you that I sure do try and I'm just glad that many do see that part of it. Fortunately, for those that don't find me to be their best option, there are so many other places out there to choose from and I think that is great for all of us that wear. It makes it to where you never have to put all your eggs in one basket.

Exactly Eric, When I said "it's not that tough", I was referring to good product, good price, and good service. The main elements of any successful business. I know running a business is tough, I have done it. You have to service people to be able to sell them. You give someone good service, they will tell a friend. If you screw them over, they will tell 7. My first order from Eric, came in yesterday, I have to say his communication was excellent. When I receive the piece, I will post a review.
