This forum user sent me these photos to me to crop out his face and post them. He wants to see if he can get some comments from temple flap wearers on if he should use temple flaps on his template and if so he would love a drawn example. I will let him know these have now been posted.

His stubble looks rather dense, I'm going to email him and ask him to post on here if it grows in thinner than it looks like it would....if it does grow in rather thick a partial might be the way to go:

Man, that looks real familiar. If his hair grows in anything like mine, the problem arises because the sides are too thick for the thinning parts. Trust me, it makes for a really bad combination and a not completely bald version of "Bozo Hair" where the sides just stick out in comparison to the top. That said, I'm a lot thinner on the crown, but very similar everywhere else.

Sorry, don't have the skills to draw anything in. But with side hair of that quality, I sure wouldn't be shy about giving yourself a great, full hairline with minimal recession regardless of age. Just take it across and upwards a little, then drop it back down with some mini-temple flaps to meet your existing hair. He's obviously going to have to shave/trim the top a lot. I know I do, but it's worth it, imho.

Not sure why you would need a piece in the first place . The top hair grown out or the hairline edged and kept buzzed with the back shaved is all you need to do .

If it does grow out thin, you look like more of a candidate for Toppik in some ways.

That said, concealers are a pain and a hairpiece really is a great way to fix almost any issue, especially when they're as realistic as the ones from Eric!

This is his response to my email back to him about his hair on top looking fairly thick and asking for more info. I am posting this for him, he is in another country and hasn't been able to post to the forum himself for some reason.

I'm thinking growing his hair out and just doing a front partial piece might be the best thing from his description of what he was trying to achieve in the first place with the thinning front. I would imagine it would obviously take a while and switching from a piece to shaved hair might not be the easiest to pull off, but it seems like it might be the best option:

"Hi! I went to a salon 6years ago for my thinnig hair at front.. And they said there is a laser thats the best for my thinning front. I paid 3500$ for the treatment. But nothing happend. So they said there is a new thing caled step by step.. They showed me like hair strands, thej said they will put it on step by step. I said ok i want that. So after 4 month they caled my, and i went there.. I sat on the chair and the women start to shave my head. I was angry and told her what she is doing.. She said i have to shave my hair so she could put the the piece on.. What piece i said.. I was promised step by step o said.. She told me that this caled step by step but it is a piece.. She had already shaved a bit of my hair so she did the rest.. I had a fight with the owner of the company,, and said that he lied to me.. But he said that this is what i orderd and this is step by step. He only speaked english, it was differcold for me to anderstand everything. Since then i have been wearing a piece.."

Bit odd , I find this type of hair related problem not a problem. The hair would of grown back within a few weeks . After getting butchered in my early 20s by h.ts I wouldnt mind being in his position . If I was him go to a good barber , edge the hairline and get rid of the side/back hair problem solved, low maintenance and willl look good .

I agree...growing out the hair to a reasonable length might take a couple months...but it looks like it would be fairly dense (at least enough for concealers to get by for a couple of years). Then a front partial piece "might" be the way to go if there was still the need for the hairline to be lowered and have temple flaps. Obviously the hairloss was bothering him to have been at a HR salon in the first place...but it looks like decent coverage can still be acheived it it was grown longer.

The salon story reminds me of my dealing with one of the "clubs" when I first decided to wear...I've already posted about it on the forum, but long story short they told me they would "incorporate my hair into the system" by pulling it through (I had a decent amount of hair at the time that I was using concealers with). Turned out, that was never their intention and after my piece finally came in, they sat me in a chair and the first thing the stylist did was reach for the electric clippers and go to shave the top of my head. This was with my back turned away from the mirror so that I wouldn't see it coming apparently.
