It has been amazing to read on this forum about the BW association and how it recruits players from other associations. I would hazard to guess that most of those complaints come from London.

When you look at London's Jr team this year and last and see that they have taken at least 9 imports combined, from other centres for this years team and last. This year 1 from BW, 1 from Windsor, 1 From Etobicoke, and 1 from Saugeen. Last year all 5 imports came from BW. I really don't care about where or how many London takes but I wonder why they try to keep their own players in the association by promising two MAA teams and two BAA teams. I guess when you cut girls from your own association for player from outside your association, you then many have enough quality players to fill two MAA teams.

If I am a London parent why would I stay and play on 1 of 2 MAA teams for an association that wants to keep its own players and money in London then take (4 this season,5 last season) from outside of the association for their Jr Team. I would just figure an Association as big as the all mighty London with such large tryout numbers, great coaching and development that they would not even need to take players from outside for their Jr Team.

The problem is now for some of their better London kids that were cut for these four imports, it is likely too late for them to try-out anywhere else. I have seen many girls in London that do not test the waters elsewhere because they are encouraged to show some loyalty, then get cut in the last round of the try-outs for a girl that has not played one game in their whole career in London, leading up to Jr.

So stay in London and be happy with your two MAA teams. Only 1 of which will have a chance to qualify for provincials. I just wonder how the board would react if the #1 team (the one that gets picked first) loses games and maybe even provincial qualifiers to Team #2, would they even allow that to happen? Not to mention both London teams will have to play BW MAA to qualify for Provincials as well. So for those playing on the second MAA or BAA team you should be prepared to be done earlier than normal. But dont worry you can always try out for your Jr Team and based on the averages you will have only 12 -13 positions to try out for because 4-5 spots per year will go to imports.

The ripple effect if those 4 London girls that were cut for the imports do stay in London, that means 4 girls that should have been on Team #1 now get bumped to Team #2. Say good by to a chance at a League Championship or Provincials.
