Okay, here's what I don't get about Protestants

Nice people and all, for the most part, but there's this glaring logical fallacy.

To accept the Bible as divinely revealed truth (or even literal truth) as opposed to the church (tradtion). That's the position, right?

Except that the Church edited the Bible and put it together. The Bible was never meant to stand alone as one truth, but as a kind of "textbook" in the tradition of church teachings.

It's a bit like someone taking a chemistry course and standing up in the lecture hall and telling the professor he's wrong, because the textbook says differently.

Huh?
