      Religious Reffugee

A 2003 Cato Institute study found that the average private school tuition is $4689. How many underprivileged kids are going to benefit from a $3000 voucher? None. All a voucher program would do is get more kids from higher-income families out of the public system, thereby lowering the public school's funding allocations for the poor kids left there. But it does play well with the religious right because they see it as an additional opportunity to raise their kids in that bubble of ignorance and hatred that they've created around themselves.
