Hunker down and take care. Even though Ernesto is no Katrina, I'm worried about how much rain it can dump on y'all.

Where I live it's just a ton of rain. Which here we needed. Have to make sure the well stays full.

There are areas being hit much harder though.
I think the worst at my house is that we had installed a dog door, and now we have wet critters running in and out. Not to mention the neighbor's dog who seems to like our house a lot too. hehe

Hmmm, the children seem to like using the dog door as well if not more than the animals. It's way funny watching how the cats use it.

We haven't had near as many tornados as was thought either. But there have been a few.

Thanks for thinking about me though. The lights didn't even blink out. Though my daughters tried to make me think they did. hehe FOrtunatly the air conditioner was still running or I might have believed them.

We actually had more problems on the 4th of July. IT rained so hard and so much in such a short time the area out side our basement flooded (drain was blocked) causing some of that water to seep into the basement. Fortunatly that area is by the basement door so it only hit the tiles and not the carpeted area.

Anyway, we are fine so far. I did have some patients cancel appointments today because they live in areas harder hit or possible lower.

Think of them as well.

Thanks

Rasna

Glad to hear it has not been a mjor problem where you are.
Some areas hit have gotten a foot of rain. Now those areas
must be having some trouble.

Meanwhile we are watching Hurricane John coming up the tip
Baja California to see how that might affect the rain here in
New Mexico. Probably see the first of the moisture from it
tomorrow.

Paul has had me out digging up about a hundred pounds of
perlite just in case we need to build a dam in from of the
main door. The unused larger second door already has its dam.

So far we have not had enough rain to worry about and it had
recently been drying out with just a bit of rain to re-dampen
the ground a bit.

What with the storms of this year, a lot of people may be wondering
about the wisdom of where they are living. If these are freak storms,
no problem. But if these are about to become the norm, then a lot of
people will be moving in the near future. That will have a ripple effect
all over the place.

Blessed Be,

Christopher

I honestly believe that these are going to become the norm. I do not dare to tell them at work that one of the reasons we've picked the Northwest city in Louisiana which we've picked because of our belief in Global Warming. Most of my co-workers are Republicans who are too afraid to admit that Global warming is real. They're also afraid of staying, but have too much invested here to move. Almost everyone of them has told me they wish they could move also. I truly believe that moving is going to save our lives. Never, ever thought I'd be leaving New Orleans, but here it is.

The other interesting thing is that if folks in the coastal cities move inland...wonder how that is going to change the political demographics. Most of the Blue State strongholds are the coastal states, not all but certainly most.

I sincerely hope that you don't have to build a damn in front of your door. I remember how a hard rain flooded Las Vegas two weeks after I moved there.

Harvest,

Well I am prepared if I have to build a dam at the front door.

So far we have done well even though we have had about three inches
of rain in the last couple of days. This last day as been a drizzle of rain
most of the day. Catu did not get his walk until 4P.M because it was
raining too much for him until then.

Though I did let him out to see for himself. He tried to stick it out but
didn't like the fact his fur was getting damp, so he dashed under the
pick up truck and eventually back to the front door.

Now at 4 P.M. it was still drizzling but not enough to actually wet
anything so we did a fair walk. Now at the end he did try to run up on
top of our tunnel entrance porch, but I grabbed his hind legs and hauled
him down. Good try but this time I was a bit too fast for him. [Grin]

As for FEMA, I am waiting for the Bush Administration to close it down
as something we can't afford. We must protect the tax cuts for the wealthy
at all costs. Plus we need money for the next country we invade. War is
so much more profitable than rebuilding. Everything you build for war
gets worn out or destroyed so you can replace it over and over and over.

Blessed Be,

Christopher
