I have been doing more 8.2 clevors than 9.5 block versions recently, but can't seem to locate the head bolt/stud kits around at the moment for the 9.5 block I am currently doing. Maybe ARP et al have changed the nomencalture since the last time I bought a bunch. Maybe it's just too long since I did one and I'm out of touch, and memory is failing? What are ya'll using for your 351+ clevor head bolts or studs at the moment?

Clevor Stud Kits

June 3 2012, 8:01 AM

I believe that the engine builder used ARP studs for my 9.2 deck Fontana/Clevor stroker engine. I have a set for a 9.5 deck Fontana, however they would have to go with the rest of the block. I didn't know that these stud kits were that hard to find, but thanks for the information. I might have to locate a spare set for a future build on my spare 9.2 Fontana.

I haven't had any trouble finding studs or bolts for 9.2 blocks with "our" heads, but am not seeing them around for 9.5 at the moment. Maybe it's me, JFFR.
I'd be only too happy to dump this old W block and get your Fontana from you, if only the money tree would bloom.

Fontana 9.5 Aluminum Block

I will check into the 9.5 Fontana stud kit. I might know where to get a set. It seems like once you have a Fontana, more come your way. Just keep watering that money tree and soon you will be able to take this thing off of my hands.

I can find studs and bolts for SVO, "R" and Fontana blocks all over the place. Also for production blocks with the various SVO and Yates heads. If I wasn't so ignorant, one of those sets would prolly work fine. Guess I just need to do some measuring and then ask ARP or somebody the right questions. DSC lists 351 Clevor bolts only, but he must be on vacation or something, 'cause nobody seems to be home. Ah, well...sooner or later.

Stud Kits

June 8 2012, 9:50 AM

My engine builder bought the stud kit for my Fontana, so I don't really know where they came from. I will make a call and try to find something out.

Is that a Falcon XB in that photo? Those have to be one of the nicest designs that anyone ever built. Too bad they never offered it here in the United States.
