Shenanigans –

At 9:02 of the second period, Kelsey Orth checked a Brooklin player from behind in front of the Brooklin bench. Derek Howe came off the bench to the aid of his teammate. In the ensuing scrum, Mike Bradley and Aaron Wilson squared off with Bradley landed the majority of blows. Jamie Dubrick and Rob Fodor decided to settle their disagreement with fisticuffs. Penalties assessed were: Howe - game misconduct; Fodor and Bradley – 5 mins for fighting and a game misconduct each; Orth – 5 mins for checking from behind and a game misconduct; Dubrick – 5 mins for fighting and a game misconduct.

Not to be outdone by the above combatants, Jaret Bilich and Jim Leeworthy argued about the worthiness of wearing sweater number 41. For their argument, they each received 2 mins for unsportsmanlike conduct and 10-min misconduct.

At 14:14 of the third period, Aaron Wilson took exception to Barrett Church extra effort in trying to get a loose ball and slashed Church on the leg. Kevin Black decided to rectify this wrong and went after Wilson. Josh Black also got involved. So it was Black on Black with the men in black trying to restore order. Results were: Aaron Wilson – 5 mins for slashing, 2 mins for unsportsmanlike conduct, 2 mins for roughing, 10-min misconduct and a game expulsion for incurring his fifth penalty. Kevin Black – 5 mins for fighting. The remaining players got of free – too much of a black out.

Notes:

A fast paced game with both teams running hard. The difference in this game was that Kitchener-Waterloo was able to keep Brooklin’s shooters to the outside.

Both goalies played well.

The $75.00 won by the McNaughtons may just pay for their gas money as they make the trip from Wallaceburg to see their son play. A thank you to all fathers and mothers for their support for their children whether they come from afar or close by.
