Shenanigans –

In the first period, Mike Wye came out of his net to check one of the Ennismore players on a suicide pass. The heavy hit was high and Wye was assessed a 5 min major.

In the second period, a jurisdictional dispute occurred between, Niziol of Brooklin and Crough of Ennismore . Similar to the House of Commons vote, the deciding vote was cast by the referee. Niziol 5 min major and Crough nothing for ducking the vote.

A fan in the stands (a mother of one of the players) took exception to the call and was ejected from the arena. Many of the fans were confused as there were two Johnsons on the floor as players and also a ref with a similar name with a ‘t’. Were the comments directed at the players or the ref? In this case, only mother knows best.

Notes:

Penalties hurt the Merchants and allowed Ennismore back in the game. It appeared that Ennismore scored near the end of the third period but it was ruled as hitting the cross bar.
It would have made for an exciting finish.

Not only do the men in black ensure that a game can be played, they also support lacrosse by buying 50/50 tickets. One was rewarded by winning $53.00
