Shenanigans:

Four fight, in all cases the Norwood player wound up on top after the punches stopped and the wrestling started.
Fair to say that most would be considered a draw.

At 13:14 of the first period, Tyler Worden, Brooklin engaged Shamus McGee, Norwood. Five minutes fighting each.

At 14:11 of the second period, Jordan Harber, Brooklin engaged Greg Reilly, Norwood. Five minutes fighting each.

At 15:08 of the second period, Cory Reed, Brooklin engaged Aaron Grayson, Norwood. Five minutes fighting each.

At 4:07 of the third period, Jordan Haber, Brooklin engaged Josh Maracle, Norwood. Five minutes fighting plus a game explusion each.

Notes (The way I saw it):

A fast hard hitting game with both teams in mid season form.

Angus Dineley adjusted to the larger nets a bit quicker than Rick McCullouch. The Merchants could have jumped out to a lead in the first period if it were not for Dineley. Merchants outshot the Nitro 25 to 13.

An untimely five minute major for highsticking by Tyler Harris of the Merchants at 8:22 of the third period resulted in two goals for the Nitro and broke a 9-9 tie.

The Merchants had a chance to tie when Daryl Welsh took a two minute holding penalty at 16:50 of the third period.

The Merchants designed a play which put Nick Trudeau in front of the net. They were able to get the ball to him twice, but both times he was thwarted by Dineley.

I would like to be there for the rematch next Friday, May 1 in Norwood.

What I like about the amateur game is that both referees assisted in attaching the netting to the post.

I also got an autograph of a future player, Liam Haan, 3 months old.
