Why do Greek passports have written "Hellenic Republic"? Isn't this country called Greece? Why do Greeks say they speak Hellenic? That is not true, the Hellenic language and the Greek are two different languages. Since Greece is recognized by the United Nations under the name Republic of Greece why does the European Union does not say anything to Greece but turns a deaf ear? But they are telling Macedonia not to use the constitutional name Republic of Macedonia, and to negotiate the name with Greece if Macedonia wants to enter the European Union.
In the year 2007 Bulgaria is going to enter the European Union did the European Union check the human rights in Bulgaria? How are the Macedonians are treated there? They say Macedonians in Bulgaria do not exist. Before Greece entered the European Union in 1981 the European Union should have checked the human rights in Greece. There are eight nationalities, including the Macedonians, living in Greece. Yet Greece is still suppressing the Macedonian language and has done so since 1936.
The Macedonians are not allowed to restore their original names such as Jovan Trendov. The Greeks changed all first and last names of Macedonian people in 1926 and this is a well known fact. Also today in the 21st century we are not allowed to be baptized with Macedonian names. Recently in the city in Florina ( Lerin) Greece the godfather tried to name the baby with a Macedonian name "Velika" and the priest said no you are not allowed to use that name. And the Greek church baptized the baby without the consent of the parents "Pashalia". So the parents have no right to name their baby with the name of their choice. Greek priests prefer that they become the godfather and not the parents who don't have any rights to name their child. Macedonians are turned back from the Greek border and cannot enter their birth place, but of course no one can say anything to the Greek government. Do you call that a Greek democracy?
