"Because we are Macedonians, non-Greeks by birth, our homes and properties have been confiscated and awarded to settlers and colonists from Asia Minor and other places."
Refugee children (notice they are called 'children'!) were not old enough to have ownership over any property, thus making the claim that their properties were confiscated totally ludicrous.
Any properties that were "confiscated" were done so to communist partisan fighters and their families who fled to communist countries at the end of the Greek Civil War (1949). The vast majority of these properties reverted to the closest family mamber who remained in Greece. And the communist fighters and family members from western Greek Macedonia were almost all from the villages of that area, where hardly any Asia Minor, Bulgaria, or South Serbia refugees were settled when they arrived in Greece in the 1910's and 1920's.
Nice try.
