Macedonia is one of the few countries that has existed for thousands of years. Greece is not listed, instead, it has been known as several different names such as Achaea, Thessaly, Epirus, etc. over the centuries. The Greek position is that their race is "continuous" and "pure" over 4000 years. This has been universally dismissed by scholars. The first reference to a territory known as "Greece" or "Hellas" occurs after the independence of Greece from the Ottoman Empire in 1832. It is also very dangerous to claim that any race is "pure". If there was no Macedonia after 146 BC, where do you get 1,000's of years?
When is there any separate empire or kingdom called 'Macedonia' after this time? The only one that's even close is the 'Thema Makedonia' created by the Byzantines to protect the Macedonian Christians after the brutal atrocities committed by the pagan Slav, Avar and Bulgar invaders. Naturally, all of those Macedoians spoke the same form of Greek as the other Byzantines did.
