Greece is completely ignoring Macedonia when it comes to the fight against money laundering and financing of terrorism activities.
Anti-Money Laundering/Combating Terrorist Financing Administration said today in a statement that the agenda of the upcoming plenary session of the Egmont Group - an international body of more than 100 national financial intelligence units (FIUs) - slated for 24-28 May in Doha, Qatar, contains an item for reviewing of such behavior of FIU-Greece.
Anti-Money Laundering/Combating Terrorist Financing Administration has not received any reply to their requests for information relating accounts of Macedonian citizens in Greek banks, which were sent more than a six months ago.
Macedonia has been a member of Egmont Group since 2004, registered under its constitutional name - the Republic of Macedonia. /end/ nv
