In Canada, you are allowed to have Macedonian churches and schools. You
can baptize your children in the Macedonian Orthodox faith. You can also
have radio stations, television stations, etc. Since the Greeks occupied
Aegean Macedonia in 1913 all of the above have been denied the
Macedonian people.
Since 1913, thousands and thousands of Macedonian people had their
surnames forcefully changed into Greek names. And without the consent of
the Macedonian people, passports were issued to them stating that they
were of Greek nationality.
Even today, in the cemetary in Aegean Macedonia a person cannot have
Macedonian writing on his tombstone. Even in death you are not allowed
to be Macedonian. Macedonians in Aegean Macedonia are denied their basic
human rights. This is definitely not a democratic country!
