How often today do we see, in movies and tv especially, the superficial and materialistic threads of our modern life permeating the interpretations and executions of the vampire? I am quite frankly sick of it. For years I have gone to these films with great hopes and left angry, finding myself looking not thru a window into vampire mythology, but rather some bizzaro world where supermodels and action heroes pretend to be vampires to the calibur of say, a college goth costume party with a large budget.
As a result, I have begun a 3-step project. The first step is called 'Waking' and it is a delectably dark and demonic tale. I have found a new interpretation of the vampire that does NOT abandon its roots in horror, philosophy and psyhology. As opposed to filling pages with gratuitous sexual innuendos, or cliche elements which are repeatedly raped by mainstream culture, I have created an incredibly new, and surreal tale which will surely leave you anxiously awaiting the in-progress sequal.
