I bought my seven year old a Daisy Red Ryder. I have to cut the stock down to fit her, but until then she shoots with the stock along the outside of her shoulder so she can get her head along the sights.
It weighs about 2 pounds, which is about right for that age. They're cheap, so you won't mind taking a saw to the stock. They are remarkably accurate for the price, (she was hitting a 1/2" spinner at 20 feet her first time out).
They have all that's needed to teach proper technique and safe gun handling, and they are a blast at plinking plastic cups hanging from a line. |
