Hi Chris,
From what I understand you are allowed to bring your "significant other", I assume they mean girlfriend/boyfriend, wife/husband. However, if you do bring your significant other, you will not be able to reside on campus (live in a dorm), which is something all first semester students are reqired to do, except when they are living with families/significant others. You will have to find an apartment off campus.
