Rain is the main source of water on Saba. Fairly elaborate systems catch the water as it falls onto your roof and direct it into a cistern which usually sits below or next to the house or building. Some people use water filters for cooking and drinking water. Others drink only bottled water.
I think it will depend on the individual system and your personal preferences as to your water habits. The up-side is that you have no water (or sewer) bill as long as you are conservative with water use. If you run out of water, you either have to wait for the next rainstorm or buy water from someone on the island (about $60 a load so I have heard). I've spoken with people who have run out of water more than once and others who've never run out.
Seems like a quirky little matter, but not too difficult.
Best of Luck!
