Hi there. I'm a student currently on Saba so thought I'd let you know about the gym facilities on the island, as I'm one of many regular users. There is no gym at the school or associated with the school. I've heard a few rumors that they're considering it, but to the best of my knowledge, it's just rumors. If you've looked into the layout of the island at all, and I hope you have considering you're coming here, the gym is in Windwardside, which is a ways from the Bottom and the school and the dorm you'll be staying at, so sometimes it can be difficult to get to and from, especially at odd hours like late at night if that's when you like to work out, but during the day, shouldn't be too much of a problem to get up there to work out and then back down. As for the gym itself, it's nothing spectacular but it gets the job done. If you work out primarily with free weights, you'll be fine, there's a rack going from 5-100 of dumbells, barbells with plenty of weights to stack up, a flat bench, a decline bench, an incline bench, and a preacher curl seat. As for machines, there's a smith press, leg press, leg extension, leg curl, pec dec, lat pull, and row. Theres one of those stands where you hang and pull your legs up for abs, an ab roller, a couple ab benches, a back extension stand, a couple of bikes and a treadmill. Thinks that's pretty much everything. All that stuff is stuffed into a pretty small place, so if several people are there at the same time, things can get pretty crowded. This happens mostly from around 3-6 right after school. I went tonight at 7 and was there by myself for an hour and a half. A lot of the bars and weights have some rust on them due to the climate, and some people with sensitive noses have complained about fungus, so this isn't any Bally's, but if you're really into excercising and lifting like a lot of us down here, you can make due and stay in excellent shape.
