New York: Without a site visit and approval, (1) students can do a maximum of 12 weeks of clinical rotations in NY, (2) students cannot do a residency in NY, (3) students CAN still be licensed in NY. SABA already has students licensed in New York. In January, SABA had a site visit by the state of NY and is awaiting their report, which is due in a few months.
If SABA is approved, students will be permitted to do all 72 weeks of rotations in NY and a residency.

California: Presently, students cannot do a residency or be licensed in CA without a site visit. Last month, the CA Board of Medicine approved SABA for a site visit sometime this year. If approved, students will be allowed to do rotations, residency and licensure.
