I reckon Maureen O'Hara loved that scene as much as anyone. I saw her once confess, "I'm sorry, I will never do a movie unless I am the leading lady!" With a snooty attitude like that, she more than deserved everything she got! What was critical to Maureen, I reckon, was to be the centre of attention & over John's knee was ideal for this. She was probably jealous every time she saw another leading lady spanked!? (Do you spankee's ever get jealous & want to swap places?) After all, it wasn't Maureen's only screen spanking! Yes, I personally think the whole film was conceived so John could spank Maureen! It's unanamous, the coal shovel was a shame and more could have been on screen but everything else was ideal.
I really enjoyed Stephanie Powers spanked earlier in the film, too. Pity it was so brief, with most off screen & perhaps a little overacted but at least she didn't miss out! Maybe they didn't want Steph to upstage Maureen? (Oh, and that blooming coal shovel again. I guess they tried too hard to do something original?! I read somewhere, Stephanie got another brief M/F spanking playing Angie Dickenson's daughter. (Half her luck!) Love to see it! (Anyone got it?) Steph's a worthy target!
Jenny Maxwell's spanking was great. Again very worthy but I did find Elvis's positioning & action a little sloppy. Pity they chopped it off when he was in mid-flight but we did see a few spanks land & all on screen.
The main reason I responded was to ask can anyone make out what Elvis says as he spanks Jenny. He says something, "mumble, mumble, mumble all wrapped up!", just before the editor terminates our fun. Always curious what witticism he states!

P.S. Wasn't Yvonne DeCarlo & Rod Cameron an excellent combination! He went for it & she reacted beautifully. Perfect positioning & great camera angles. Yvonne was wonderful but I reckon Rod gave her little choice! Can't wait to see "Public Deb No. 1". It could well become my all time favourite when I do. (Love to see those Spanish twins spanking scenes one day, too! You know, Mili & Pili. Hey, there's a possibility for another review, Princess!)
