Pub Deb #1 Spanking Starts a Romance; the McLintock Spanking Makes One Stronger!

Indeed, indeed . . . that is really true . . In Public Deb #1 the spanking changes a course of events . . a course correction no less (pun?) . . It serves to level the playing field .. gives the romance a chemistry . . very, very, good point indeed, indeed . . While the push/pull in the relationship continues after the spanking, he comes out on top (pun?) so to speak . . .
Now in McLintock . . (as with Public Deb #1) the spanking is part of the advertising for the movie . . we know it is coming before we see the flick . . but the attitude change probably begins when she sees him again . . natural momentum WITHOUT the spanking would have put them in each others arms again . . I think the core of the spanking was the fact that he came home years ago with lipstick on his collar and did not tell her the truth about it . . the spanking was unnecessary for the romance . . a punishment for a small offense.
Take the spanking out of KMK and you lose the fun of the movie . . take the spanking out of Public Deb and the two romantics don't share futures . . take the spanking out of McLintock and the romantic appeal between the protagonists remains . . . .
Now, let's go to the quality of the spankings . . KMK would have been much better OTK with the dress raised . . and it would have been sexier . . but it was an "8" at least . . the Deb spanking was probably a "9" and she was properly dressed for the spanking . . and the newspaper insert helped (like it did in Abbott and Costello in the Navy)- - it gave the spanking publicity and this changed the your lady's image . . . . . . In McLintock we have a bully beating a lovely and perfectly behaved Irish lass with a coal shovel . . . he was applying punishment . . she was providing the humor, sexual attractiveness, and the sounds of a beautiful woman being spanked . . (good sport that she was) . . but without the spanking in McLintock they would have gotten together and lived ever after . . . . . .
To digress . . the spanking of Powers by Patrick Wayne, the Fatter Wayne's Son, was a 'course correction' and put this couple together . . it used the coal shovel . . . but he was sorry and bashful after the event and she was in love . . . . remember the line . . "this is the first engagement that started with a spanking".
So, the bottom line (pun) is that you Dan are right but so am I.
