Js666 and Will,

Thanks not only for these responses you posted, but also for
prior letters that you have both contributed here!

Js666, that's amazing that you knew the "twanking"
lingo. And there's no such thing as too obscure a fact
-- you never know when it will come in handy, such as in
this case. I had assumed it was perhaps a typo, and
I'm glad to know that it probably wasn't.

Let's see how far we can stretch the continum. Perhaps someone could find more
contemporary letters, those written in the 1970's and afterwards.

We could go the other way too if someone would post a few of the letter's that
appeared in the Englishwomans Domestic Magazine during the 1870's and 1880's.

By the way Anne did were any of the letters accommpanied by sketches or photo's?

Will, That's awesome that this site is becoming such a
great historical resource. I'm all for stretching the
continuum, as you said -- I will continue to type these
letters over time (there must be two or three dozen),
and if I have any way of getting my hands on the
Englishwoman's Domestic Mag, I'll be all over it!

And yes, the letters were sometimes (infrequently, but
sometimes) accompanied by little line drawings. Almost
all of them were of a woman/mother as spanker; more
than half of the drawings featured a girl as recipient --
particularly since the letters I obtained tended to be
about the merits of girl-spanking.
