I considered posting you a note earlier but laziness got the better of me. I had wanted to say how much I enjoyed reading your articles - from a historical point of view it has given me some interesting insights on how people behaved and viewed things so long ago. In particular, it makes me realize that spankings in the 1930's and 40's movies must have existed for the purpose of titilation, disguised as disciplinary - a way round the censor of the day. This is because my viewing of your articles suggests that spanking of girlfriends by boyfiends or girls by potential boyfriends which is common in the movies didn't much happen in real life. It seems spanking of daughters by mothers is more common. Very ocassionally we get the spanking of a wife by a husband - or a daughter by a father, but generally M/F spankings weren't common (if your articles are representative of the era) and they lacked the subliminal sexual content of the old classic movies.Thanks for your hard work and interesting contributions.
