When I was a little girl (I think it happened in the 90's- i'm 22 now) I saw a movie with my parents that contained many spankings. I've been looking for it but I can't recall the title... I remember some of the spanking scenes:
The movie was about a boy in a "farm-like" thing where he lived with his father and many other workers (something like a plantation or a mine, belonging to a noble man) - I think it was the 19th century, and it might have been set in Ireland, but i'm not sure
In one scene we see the boy (who I think is the main character of the plot, but i'm not sure)feeding milk to a small kitten and an older guy threatening to whip him if he feeds the cat again. Later we see the boy going into some kind of barn where the guy strips him and tries to whip his bottom but the boy runs away (i remember you get some clear shots of the boy running away with his shorts around his ankles), and the other workers protect him and threaten to whip the older guy (or actually whip him? i can't remember)
In another scene the boy is seen stealing eggs, with a pregnant woman, who later tells the boy's father he had been stealing.
The father spanks the boy on his trousers (with him hand or a belt, i can't remember). Than the wife of the landlord for some reasons, gives the boy some money as a gift, and we see the boy, taking a bath in a pond flipping the coins. A younger and poorer boy sees the money and they make a deal: the protagonist is allowed to whip the other boy on his back with a switch in exchange for the money. (i think they said one hundred lashes - i remember this scene was very moving)
These are the main scenes I remember from that movie, but I recall I had to go to bed and couldn't see the rest of the movie, so there might have been more...
Please, please, please... help me find this movie!!!

PS: If it helps I saw this from a tape we rented, so it was actually a movie that was also in the cinemas, and I also remember that for a long time I thought its title was "the white balloon" so probably I had seen it not long before/after the movie the white balloon, or it might have really had a similar title (something with white or grey in it)
