Of course, Pat Boone was so straight-arrow that he refused to kiss any actresses not his wife. At the same time, he was known as an avid spanker of his four daughters, so I guess he must not have had a problem with smacking a strange woman's bottom.
Incidentally, though there's no spanking involved, Barbara was in another Navy film in 1961, the film version of "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea." She plays a WAVE (what they called female Navy personnel in the old days) and has a scene where she's dancing wildly. They included a tight shot of the wiggling seat of her uniform skirt. Reportedly, the Navy, which had a veto in those days over the wearing of military uniforms in movies, was upset about that shot but it was too late to do anything about it.
