Another DOOL Spanking

I remember reporting a while back where the woman who plays "Nicky" was spanked by "Victor" in a black & white dress after they had been enjoying a cocktail or something like that. Daytime TV Spankings

I am new here as I said so tell me if this belongs in this forum. I have been sick at home and watching daytime television. Most of it is reruns and good to sleep through. But they have numerous dating type programs that are not usually my interest. Some have been mentioned here but these programs do have many spankings in them. One called Elimidate had one with spankings in a hot tub and also spankings when the girl and fellow were doing some sort of exercize program. I am well now and at work but record these programs regularly.

If this is right material to discuss here, maybe I can watch them closer or record them better and talk more about them. Let me know if I should watch more closely. British newspaper letters from 1960s (#5 of about 12): Caning and slippering girls

She Could Not Sit! (12 May 1965)

What a difference in the methods of punishing girls today and those of
50-60 years ago. I am 70 years of age and well recall being hauled in
front of the class and receiving up to three strokes on each hand by a
tight-lipped schoolmistress.

All girls up to the age of 17 had this treatment at the boarding school I
attended, and sometimes, for serious offences such as breaking bounds,
the girl concerned would have to bend over a chair and receive six to
eight strokes on the bare skin. I well remember being unable to sit down
for a long time!

It was no use writing home to complain. One's parents upheld the
school's rules and regulations to the hilt. All this punishment was
carried out in front of the classes. I don't know what girls of today
would think of that, but one thing remains clear; there was no
disgraceful behaviour such as goes on today -- although I think the
teachers of those days went to extremes.

Caned 55-60 Years Ago.


I have to say that both of the following letters are a bit fetishistic in their attention to detail. Are they hoaxes?

'Spanking At Home Was Effective' (19 May 1965)

My husband and I have been rather relieved by the correspondence in
your columns supporting the use of the cane for young offenders.

Both of us, when children, were caned by our parents, as were most of
our friends, but we seem to be almost alone among present day parents
in using the cane in our own home.

We have five children, now aged 17 to nine. If we may boast, we have
not infrequently been complimented on their general good behaviour.
Yet they are by no means subdued, frightened or cowed. They are
cheerful, friendly and affectionate, and a very lively handful.

All received fairly frequent mild spankings with the hand or slipper in
early childhood, and from the age of nine, the cane has been the usual
punishment in all cases. Canings are given when a child does something
expressly forbidden, or where the wrongdoer is so outrageous that the
child's age and intelligence should make the fact clear that it would be
forbidden.

Naturally, we have not kept records, but the joint recollection of
ourselves and the children is as follows. Between the ages of nine and
12, the four elder children have had about four canings a year, and about
two in their thirteenth year.

There has been only one instance of caning a child over 13, and that was
when a boy, aged just 15, experimented with driving the family car!

Canings are given in private, as soon as possible after the offence, and,
in the case of older children, only by the parent of the child's own sex.
After punishment, the matter is regarded as completely closed.

One significant fact -- there have been only two instances of a second
caning for a repetition of a former offence.

No Good Alternative to the Cane (19 May 1965)

Critics of my letter on judicial caning have yet to suggest a viable
alternative. Juvenile crime is still increasing, and present penological
[sic] methods are proving ineffectual to deal with this. It is just not
enough to deplore the lack of parental discipline. Reform is needed now.

Birching was unsuccessful largely because of inconsistencies of
sentencing. The most serious mistake was the failure to screen out those
psychologically disturbed individuals in need of therapy, rather than the
rod. As I see it, judicial caning, on the other hand, would be given only
to "normal" offenders between the age of 12 and 18, but it would be
compulsory for certain broad classes of offense.

Statutory maximum (e.g., 12 to 18) [sic!] and minimum (e.g., four to
six) numbers of strokes, depending on the culprit's age, would further
ensure equity of treatment, while leaving room for magisterial discretion.

Failure to receive sufficient punishment leaves the young offender with
a burden of guilt and hostility and leads to further crimes. The pain and
humiliation of a normal caning provides exactly the emotional release
that many young "repeaters" may be unconsciously seeking. Girls are
not different from boys in this respect.

One girl has described a history of minor delinquencies while at
grammar school, until she reached the sixth form. The usual non-
corporal punishments had no effect. Then one day she was sent to the
headmistress's study where, in her own words, "Miss ------ slippered me
until I was numb. The indignity of it makes me blush even now. And
the soreness afterwards! But funnily enough, as the smart lessened, I
had a wonderful feeling of release -- freedom, that I'd never had before.
I realize now that that beating was one of the best things that ever
happened to me."

This girl is now taking her university finals.

experiences and saying how attractive they find my proposals? I also

This way Harrison Ford could spank Jennifer Alba, for instance! Still little scope for feminist complaints with the F/M action on other frames.
Whilst the fast forward would be handy for the M/M action, the freeze frame or slo-mo may be more useful for Kate or Bridget or Jennifer's chastisement!

I gotta agree with Helen on this one. However "right" M/M spankings may be in a PC world, they are a turnoff to me.

But the main point, I think, has been lost. In his original post, Jinders was saying that we could possibly "justify" an M/F spanking on screen, if only we could offer up, as a sacrifice to the feminists, a counterbalancing male-humiliation scene at the same time. He points to the closing scene of "Young Ideas," in which both Susan Peters and the actor playing her brother are spanked.

I fail to see why any justification is necessary, for scenes of a male spanking a female. Those scenes were box-office winners for more than half a century, if you count from the early silent years to 1963's "McLintock!" True, the feminist revolution sprung up right about the time John Wayne was letting Maureen O'Hara off his knee... and yes, that protest scared Hollywood away from this tried and true formula for several years thereafter.

But in 1980, there was again an M/F spanking in "Cattle Annie and Little Britches." In 1984, there was another in the Steve Martin comedy "All of Me." Then there was "Dunston Checks in" (1994), "Live Nude Girls" (1995) and Canada's "Strictly Spanking," also in 1995. This year (2002)we have the century's first major spankscene in Lion's Gate feature "Secretary," with James Spader delivering a stupendous spanking to the pretty seat of Betty Boop lookalike Maggie Gyllenhaal.

My point is that the formula seems to be making a strong comeback. Hollywood is not so dumb, after all. The studio execs know full well that after they tossed M/F spanking scenes onto the pyre, a new industry arose from the ashes: Independent 8mm films and later videotapes, and now DVDs, all featuring M/F spankings for those who craved what Hollywood no longer cared to offer them.

But in this Brave New World of the 21st century, there are perversions enough for every distaste. Today you can see movies display gratuitous sex and nudity, not to mention plenty of homoerotic action. You can see slasher movies with more gore in one week than the entire decade of the 1940s let us see. The gloves are off, and Hollywood keeps casting about to see what new perversions they can corral, to keep us buying tickets (and, later, DVDs of the same films). Inevitably, they have returned to M/F spankings. And why not?

Tell you the truth, I think "Secretary" may be the bravest movie of them all. Not only because of the excellent spanking scene, but also because of the big poster that advertised the film at the theater where I saw it. That poster -- I'm sure we've all seen pictures of it -- actually depicts a young woman from the back, bent over and ready to receive her swats, and the tagline is "Assume the Position."

Those who remember the 1950s and '60s know that in those days, it was perfectly normal to look up and see a poster advertising "Kiss Me Kate" (1953) and showing a beaming Howard Keel spanking a repentant Kathryn Grayson. Ten years later, the phenomenon repeated itself, with huge posters everywhere depicting the gigantic spanking in "McLintock!" We've stopped seeing those posters now, and can't even see them on the VHS and DVD boxes for those films (oops -- KMK isn't out on DVD yet; they are getting ready for the 50th anniversary release, next year).

But the format, I think, is back. We probably won't be seeing a spanking a week, as we'd like; but it sure won't take another ten years to get us to the next good scene.

And Jinders, don't worry about the future of this genre. It's tested, it's been tried, and it's true. M/F spanking is what makes the world go around. Didn't you know?

Helen, agreed! Don, agreed! M/M is a dead turn off to me, to state the obvious. But I'd endure it if it got the 'ball rolling' for our */F passion! Better without it but if it takes a male sacrificial lamb to get Tom Hanks to spank Meg Ryan, so be it! I read once Jill Clayberg got spanked in a flashback scene devoid of any matching male recipient. Even better!

Hi Bellshill. Always respect your well rounded experienced opinion. I mean that with all sincerity!
Yes, in the 'perfect world', I'd just go straight to the M/F action almost exclusively, except for a little F/F when it works with the storyline. (Don't ever let a chance go by!) As Dan & my personal experience points out, whilst some ladies don't care for F/F, others love to muck around that way! Let's not discriminate against the latter group of ladies, (like the ladies I've seen 'mucking' around with each other in my home town or those who enjoy spanking with Madame Josephine, Francesca Le or Chelsea Pfeiffer, say). But I also respect & understand Cyn's anti-F/F opinion, just as I distain M/M. (Yuck!) But we should cater for both adult spanking tastes, such as the level-headed fun loving ladies who flirt with F/F! Let's not discriminate against them! (BTW, please excuse the 'Don' slip up earlier, Dan. I type these things rather hastily & late @ night).
So much for what we'd ideally like to view. Now let's work in the world as it is today or in the recent past. So, Bellshill, picture yourself behind the type writer for that UK soap or whatever production you like, right here, right now. You've got to get your M/F scene past the BBC, etc. Here in 2002, do you script the OTK M/F scene straight out & risk having it canned long before 'first base', as in reality happened to the attempt to spank Zoe in "Dr. Who" or would you try the approach of, "Something Wilder", say, which successfully pulled off a married couple simultaneously spanking each other in standing. That 'balanced approach' did go into production & made it onto my screen @ home! The shared spanking scenario in my humble opinion has a far greater chance of making production. The Dr. Who script team from a few decades back would probably concur with me. (Had the scene they scripted instead featured Jamie & Zoe spanking each other, would it have been scrubbed as the M/F OTK Zoe scene attempt was? Who knows?)
I was speculating once the 'ice is broken' with 'balanced' offerings, script writers may then get a little more direct & pen, much to the delight of all of us visiting here!

Hi again Jin... First of all, I regret to say that I know nothing about Dunfirmline, but I suspect that's a reference to some kind of sports team. All well and good, but alas, I take no interest in sports. About three weeks ago a local Southern California baseball team called the "Angels" did win the World Series, and there was so much clamor about that around here, I would have had to be deaf, dumb, and blind not to know about it. But I still wonder... WHY is it called a "World" series, when the only teams eligible for it are from North America?

Well, Jinders, it seems to me that if I were a Hollywood producer and I wanted to reintroduce good, ol' M/F spanking to the movies, I would go with a scenario set in the PAST...!

For example: Take a Western movie -- whether it's McLintock, Thunder Mountain, Stagecoach Kid, or whatever -- all of them are, perforce, set in the 1800s. That was the era when daring horsemen in ten-gallon hats rode the range, drove cattle, and occasionally had to teach manners to an ornery female human. As I've said, many of our popular movie spanking scenes are in western movies.

Or, go to Elizabethan England, where a nobleman finds he must spank one of the Queen's handmaidens for flirting outrageously. Or journey to Sherwood Forest, where Robin Hood discovers that Maid Marian needs to be spanked for some breach of medieval manners.

I figure, if you put a spanking scene in a period picture, you will likely get less static from the feminists than if you tried to put it in the 21st century. Don't get me wrong, I love modern girls, and the joy of putting a struggling imp across my knee, raising her itty bitty miniskirt, and pulling down her pantyhose to spank her, is joy unsurpassed. But the vanilla world needs to be re-educated on this point. I recommend starting with a spanking scene set in the distant past, like maybe a century or so ago.

Yep, it might just do the trick, Dan. Give some historical reality to the spanking, either in the setting in time or in reviving a past film making tradition would surely give validity to scripting an M/F spanking which would be hard for the 'kill joys' to scrub! Yes!
Now, where do we apply for the jobs of writer & casting agents? (I'll take the auditions!) This ball we're 'rolling' needs a little momentum! Thanks for your efforts,

down, but not in the way you might think.

It is not necessary for one individual reader of this group to campaign and beg
and plead Network54 administrators to shut down our forum just because he/she
is bothered by something posted here.

All that would be required for this group to explode would be for a big, huge
off-topic battle to break out over a non-issue like what should and should not
be posted here. The causing of these battles is known as "trolling" -- or being a
"troll." I'm sure if you've been on the internet for any period of time,
you know what I'm talking about. Lots of bitterness and acrimony arises out of
self-righteousness and knee-jerk reactions.

Even semi-justified flames of one person's messages can lead to equally justified
flames of flamers, resulting in a ever-increasing snowball of debate and anger.

If you choose to see the concerns of "???" as a non-issue, much ado about
nothing, as I do, he/she will not succeed in the effort to cause strife and anger
here. The choice is ours and ours alone.
