Q: What is Gospel of Manalo Doctrine Lesson No. 12 and what are the fallacies?
A: Gospel of Manalo Doctrine Lesson No. 12 follows:

"LESSON NO. 12 - The Promise for Those Who Endure Persecution
Theme: The reason behind the persecution suffered by members of the Church of Christ and the promise to those who remain faithful and firm in their faith.
Summary: Persecutions cannot be avoided because overcoming it serves as basis for inheriting the kingdom of heaven (Mt.5:10-12). Thus whatever kind or extent of persecution a member of the Church of Christ may face, he should not falter or withdraw. He should instead pray to God for assistance in order to overcome religious persecutions." (Fundamental Beliefs of the Iglesia ni Cristo (Church of Christ), Erano G. Manalo, 1989, p. 50)

The Fallacies of this Doctrine No. 12:

Let's read the verses being used by Manalo. Is it really blessings for Iglesia indoctrinees and members to be persecuted?

"Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake,
For their's is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you." (Mt.5:10-12 NKJV)

What kind of persecutions are real persecutions taught by Lord Jesus Christ? There are two kinds:

1) Persecutions for RIGHTEOUSNESS' sake, and
2) Persecutions of saying all kinds of evils FALSELY for Christ's sake (not for Manalo or Church of Christ's sake)

Is Manalo and his Iglesia members and or indoctrinees covered by these two kinds of persecutions authorized by Christ? No! Why? Because the persecutions of the Iglesia ni Cristo is for lawlessness not for righteousness' sake and for evil things that are TRUE being practiced by Manalo and his Iglesia cult. What are the lawlessness of the Iglesia ni Cristo?

The following are the lawlessness of the Iglesia ni Cristo:

1) Representing to the customs of the countries of the world where Manalo mails his God's Message magazines that the magazines are not for sale when in fact they are for sale to members. Undervaluing the magazines which is misrepresentation of its total value that is less than its total selling value. This is violation of customs laws;

2) Requiring its members to work for the Iglesia ni Cristo to do administrative, clerical, and labor work without paying any wages for such work. This is slavery and violation of labor laws;

3) Forbidding its members from deducting their Iglesia ni Cristo contributions in their personal income tax returns. This is violation of tax exempting laws;

4) Hiding its finances and not filing reports of all its receipts and expenses on its worldwide operations. This is violation of granting charter laws;

5) Accepting money deposits weekly without any authority from banking regulators. This is violation of banking laws;

6) Contributing to the political campaigns of candidates for public office for possible use of them if elected. The Iglesia ni Cristo regularly publishes in its magazines the letters of congratulatory messages of well known governmental officials of countries that it supported. This is violation of political contribution laws. The following are the list that was published by the Iglesia ni Cristo in its July 2001 God's Message magazine:

These public officials could not have known the Iglesia ni Cristo and its Executive Minister Erano G. Manalo and issue their congratulatory letters on the Iglesia ni Cristo's 87th Anniversary had the Iglesia ni Cristo not made itself known to these political figures through contributions and other means.

The Evil True Things Being Practiced by the Iglesia ni Cristo:

1) Exaction of thanksgiving debts payable by members throughout their lifetime based on misrepresentation of some bible verses such as 2 Corinthians 9:2; 1 Timothy 6:18-19, Colossians 3:15, and others.

2) Requiring many kinds of offerings but prohibits disbursing of funds for foods and snacks needed in their weekly bible expositions for visitors, depending instead on its officers and members to cough up and dig from their pockets this responsibility including giving of financial help to families of their deceased brethren.

3) Misrepresenting there is no more remedy for those who absent themselves from the worship service scaring members when in truth there is always remedy which is to attend future worship services.

4) Scaring members they will be destroyed by God if they do not give thanksgiving offerings.

5) Branding members as thieves if they do not give offerings.

6) Scaring members they will suffer the fates of Ananias and Sapphira if members do not obey the church administration of Erano G. Manalo.

7) Requiring all officers to swear annually to defend the Iglesia ni Cristo when the bible prohibits such practice (See. Matthew 5:34-37).

8) Providing sample ballots to members for slate of candidates to be elected on election days and scaring members they will be expelled if they oppose any names of the list.

9) Forbidding members from joining any labor unions but could not provide jobs to members separated as a result of it.

10) Using its huge cash deposits in the Philippines to bring down any bank that refuses to submit to the desires of the I.N.C. Executive Minister.

11) Practice of forced worship service.

12) Requiring members to labor, spend monies, time, efforts, in looking for converts, rearing the converts until their baptism, but after their baptism, it is the minister who gets credits. The members who brough the converts receive only a pat on the back.

Therefore, since the persecutions are due to Manalo's lawlessness and due to the evil practices of the Iglesia ni Cristo, they can not blame the people for telling the truths about the Iglesia ni Cristo. Will Manalo and his Iglesia members be blessed because people are telling the truths? No! The Iglesia ni Cristo and its members deserved to be told the truths. People are only telling the lies of Manalo and how Manalo victimized his members. The persecution blessings is applicable only if members do acts of righteousness not acts of lawlessness or evil true practices. Manalo has fooled again his members into believing a lie.

Explanations of the Deceptions:

Q&A #1 - Church of Christ members were forwarned by Christ they will be persecuted? Let's read the verse:

"Remember the word that I said to you, 'A servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept Myword, they will keep yours also." (Jn.15:20 NKJV)

The Lord Jesus Christ was talking to His and disciples. The servants are the disciples while the master is Christ. If Christ is persecuted, the disciples will also be persecuted. Why does Manalo use this verse when his indoctrinees are not the disciples of Christ? Iglesia members are only disciples of Manalo. To tell it frankly, it is Manalo who is persecuting the apostles.Do we remember the persecution by Manalo saying things falsely about the Apostles? Yes, we do. Manalo has said those who wear long gowns like the gowns of Christ are savage wolves in sheep's clothing. It is persecution by Manalo of the apostles because the apostles wear long gowns too, like Christ. Are the apostles savage wolves? No! Therefore, the apostles are falsely persecuted.

Q&A #2 - Why should not surprise indoctriness and members if they are hated by the world because Christ was hated ahead of them? Let's read the verse:

"If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you." (Jn.15:18 NKJV)

For goodness' sake, the "you" pronoun pertains to Christ's apostles and disciples. It is never the Iglesia ni Cristo members nor the indoctrinees who are disciples of Manalo. When the apostles were hated, it is because Jesus Christ was hated firs. What about the Iglesia ni Crito indoctrinees? The indoctrinees are being persecuted not because of Christ's sake but because of Manalo's sake, the false messenger of God. The indoctrinees are being persecuted because of the evil things practiced by the Iglesia ni Cristo cult. Manalo cannot ally himself or the Iglesia ni Cristo with the persecutions of Christ and the apostles because the persecutions of Manalo and the Iglesia are for lawlessness and for evil true practices.

Q&A #3 - Why are the Iglesia ni Cristo members and indoctrinees being persecuted by the world is because Christ has chosen them? Let's read Manalo's drunken allegation:

"If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet, because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore, the world hates you." (Jn.15:19 NKJV)

How could Christ choose the Iglesia members when the Iglesia members don't recognize Christ as the messenger of God? If you are uncle of somebody and that somebody does not recognize you, will you choose the ingrate to be the recipient of nice gifts? No way! Therefore, the one who had chosen the Iglesia members is not Christ but Manalo the one whom they recognize.
The Iglesia ni Cristo indoctrinees and members are being persecuted by the world not because of Christ but because of Manalo who had chosen them to be slaves.

The chosen ones of God and His Son Jesus Christ are the Jews and Gentiles (Rom.9:24 NKJV). Never did Jesus Christ chose the third group Church of Christ of Felix Y. Manalo.

The chosen are the believers of Christ:

Manalo has been misusing 1 Pet.2:9 as if the verse pertains to them. Is it really? Let's read:

"But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light." (1 Pet.2:9 NKJV)

Who are these people? Are they the Iglesia members? First of all, the verse disqualified already the Iglesia ni Cristo. Why? Because these people are of the royal priesthood and Manalo hates priests. Manalo hates the priests the way Palestinians hates the Jews. Secondly, these people were called by God out of darkness into God's marvelous light, who is Jesus Christ (J.8:12). Where did Manalo placed his Iglesia members? He placed them inside the Iglesia ni Cristo darkness, not in Jesus Christ, the light.

Let's identify these people using the prior verse:

"Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture,
"Behold, I lay in Zion
A chief cornerstone, elect, precious
And he who believes on Him will be no means be put to shame."
Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient,
"The stone which the builders rejected
Has become the chief cornerstone." (1 Pet.2:6-7 NKJV)

The chosen generation are believers of Jesus Christ. They are not in the Church of Christ who are believers of Felix Manalo.

Q&A #4 - The reason why Iglesia Ni Cristo members are being persecuted is because of the name of Jesus Christ? Let's read again the basis of Manalo's drunken allegation:

"But all these things they will do to you for My name's sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me." (Jn.15:21 NKJV)

The Apostles were being persecuted because of the name of Jesus Christ. It is never the name of Church of Christ. Jesus Christ and Church of Christ are not the same. Jesus Christ is the Savior while the Church of Christ is the idol. Who are these persecutors of the Apostles? These persecutors are those who do not know that Christ is the messenger of God. What do Manalo and his ministers did to the Apostles for Manalo's sake? They misused the words of the Apostles to extort monies and to slave their members. Which is one of the words of the apostles misused by Manalo and his ministers? Let's read the verse:

"And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body, and be thankful." (Col.3:15 NKJV)

The Apostles' word, "thankful," is being used by Manalo and his cohort ministers as "money thankful". This is clearly saying bad things of the Apostles. Imagine, telling the Apostles are money hungry when they are not! It is Manalo who is money hungry!

Q&A #5 - Indoctrinees should not feel bitter when they are persecuted for joining the Iglesia because they are blessed? We have already touched about Mark 5:10-12 that it is not blessings if the indoctrinees are being persecuted for lawlessness and for evil true practices of the Iglesia ni Cristo. What is the proof that indoctrinees and members will not receive blessings for acts of lawlessness and evil practices?

"Many will say to Me in that day, "Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, and cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name? And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you, depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!" (Mt.7:22-23 NKJV)

Indoctrinees and converts will not receive blessings. If they will receive blessings, why are these people who did lawlessness being driven away? They are cursed! Who is the lawless one that Manalo and his hosts of ministers follow and serve?

"And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved." (2 Thes.2:8-10 NKJV)

Satan is the lawless one. He is the source of all lawlessness in this world. Manalo and his ministers are agents of Satan. The indoctriness deceived by Manalo who is working for Satan have no chance of salvation in Manalo's cult. The only remedy is to reject Manalo. Satan will get hurt if indoctriness will reject Manalo.

Q&A # 6 - The indoctrinees families are the first persecutors of the Indoctrinees? Let's read Manalo's biblical basis for his drinken hypothesis:

"And a man's enemies will be those of his own household." (Mt.10:36 NKJV)

Stop the twisting of the Scriptures! This verse is not the whole story. If we will read starting from Verse 35, it is Christ who set members of the family against each other. It is a fact of life ordained by Christ. Wives and mother in laws have always been at odds against each other. And children and parents agsint each other. Why did Christ ordained this? In order to realize that this world is full of sufferings and to learn to endure and to persevere (Js.5:11) and to come to God (Mal.3:7)

In-fightings between husbands and wives and between families would not stop even if indoctrinees will stop their connection with Manalo. Manalo is unscrupurously taking advantage of the settled fact of life ordaned by God (1 Pet.3:17).

Q&A #7 - Christ expects the indoctrinees to love Him more when they are being persecuted? Let's read the biblical basis of Manalo's devilish perversion:

"He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me." (Mt.10:37 NKJV)

The devilish twisting by Manalo is making the love for Christ also the love for the Church of Christ. Okay, let's test Manalo. We become the indoctrinees:

MANALO: "If you are being persecuted by your parents, you must love Christ more than your parents!"
INDOCTRINEES: I see. Okay, I will follow you, I will love Christ more...I will stop now the indoctrination and will no longer come back, goodbye!"
MANALO: "Wait a minute, to love Christ is to continue indoctrination in the Church of Christ!"
INDOCTRINEES: "Why did you lie? You did not tell me to love the Church of Christ more than my parents! GOODBYE SATAN!"

q&a #8 - Indoctrinees should not be ashamed for being reproached as members of the Church of Christ because they are blessed? What a shameless argument. If Felix is convicted as rapist of Rosita Trillaness and Felix is reproached for being a rapist, Felix therefore must be proud for his evil deeds and not be ashamed at all, standing tall, with head and forehead erect, as he walks down the streets of prison hallways?

Let's read the verse being perverted shamelessly by Manalo:

"If you are reproached for the name of Christ,youare blessed, because the spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or a wrongdoer, or a mischief maker; yet if one suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but under that name let him glorify God." (1 Pet.4:14-16 NKJV)

The reproaches that has blessings are the reproaches for the name of Jesus Christ. It is never the reproaches for the Church of Christ. Evil doings such as murders, thievery (of monies & prophecies), wrongdoings (such as touching bodies of married and single women), and mischief doing (such as scaring members), are the things that one should be made ashamed of. Manalo is teaching the Bible backwards! Instead of the evil doers be ashamed, Manalo is teaching the evil doers become proud for their evil deeds.

Q&A #9 - Did Christ warn the indoctrinees if the indoctrineess will be ashamed of Him, Christ will also be ashamed of the indoctrinees? Let's read the verse perverted by Manalo:

"For whomever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels." (Mk.8:38 NKJV)

Whom and what should we not be ashamed of? It is Christ and Christ's words! It is never Church of Christ and Manalo's words. Therefore, indoctriness have got to be ashamed because it is not Christ that is preached to them and neither the words of Christ. What did Manalo preached to them? Manalo preached to them the Church of Christ and Manalo's gospel. The indoctrinees better do the right thing, otherwise, Christ will be ashamed of them when He comes with His angels.

Q&A #10 - Must the indoctrinees rejoice also because the Apostles rejoiced when they faced persecution? Let's read the verses used by Manalo to deceive the indoctrinees:

"And they agreed with him, and when they had called for the apostles and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. So they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name. And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ." (Acts 5:40-42 NKJV)

The apostles were preaching Jesus Christ and also the apostles suffered shame for Jesus Christ's name! What about the indoctrinees? What are they being brainwashed of? They are being brainwashed of the Church of Christ and being brainwashed to suffer for the Church of Christ. It is a different gospel preached to the indoctrinees. Will the indoctrinees rejoice for this having received the different gospel? Manalo says, they should. Oh yes, they should to make Satan happy. Satan and Manalo and INC ministers should all rejoice for they will all have the same fate. Here is the fate of anyone who preaches a different gospel:

"I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another, but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, If anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed." (Gal.1:6-9 NKJV)

Those who preach a different gospel, such as Manalo, are accursed. Apostle Paul has to repeat the statement because Manalo might pervert Verse 8. With the two verses saying the same thing, Manalo is outwitted for any works of darkness he will do on anyone of the two verses. If Manalo is accursed, what about those who follow him? Try to follow someone who is walking towards a ditch and experience what will happen to you.

Q&A #11 - The indoctrinees who are threatened with bodily harm are not supposed to be intimadated? Who in the word would want to harm the indoctrinees? Supposing Jack is the indoctrinee, who would be the suspects that would harm him with intent?

Which of the following persons would harm Jack, the indoctrinee:
1) A former classmate whom Jack met 10 years ago?
2) A neighbor whom Jack seldom sees?
3) An Iglesia ni Cristo minister whom Jack sees nightly on indoctrination sessions/
4) An Iglesia member instrumental in rearing Jack to become a convert?
5) Or a mugger who loiters at 3:00 A.M.?

Unless Jack loiters at 3:00 A.M. or Jack had ran away with the wife of his former classmate or has burglarized his neighbor, only two suspects are vialble--the Iglesia minister and the Iglesia member, two people whom Jack regularly sees. What are the motives that will precipitate the minister and his member pal for harming Jack the indoctrinee? The motive is desire to have fruit of converts. Manalo requires them to have fruits. To Manalo, Iglesia members are like fruit bearing plants. It is a requirement of Manalo that members should bear fruits (money fruits, convert fruits, and Iglesia work fruits). Manalo scares them if they will not bear fruits,they will lose ther salvation. If Jack abruptly stops his indoctrination, the two motivated Iglesia peple will get hurt, as is Satan. Vindictiveness will result. The front line harm doer is the minister. The minister had started threatening Jack through the indoctrination lessons. What is the threat? If Jack will not become a member, he will not be saved. "Those who will not be saved," the minister threatens, "will be destined into the lake of fire and brimstone..

Let's read the biblical basis of Manalo in his harming the indoctrinee teaching:

"All the governors of the kingdom, the administrators and satraps, the counselors and advisers, have consulted together to establish a royal statute and to make a firm decree, that whoever petitions any god or man for thirty days,except you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions. Now, O king, establish the decree and sign the writing, so that it cannot be changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not alter. Therefore, King Darius signed the written decree. Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times a day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.? (Dan. 6:7-10 NKJV)

The scenario is about the casting of Daniel into the den of lions. What happened was, God had saved Daniel from the lions. The enemies of Daniel who brought charges against him were the ones eaten by the lions. The enemies of Daniel were jealous of Daniel who is slated to become chief among the governors, satraps, counselors,and advisers. Not finding any fault of Daniel who serves faithfully the king, they found out his praying to his God regularly can be outlawed by a decree by King Darius. His enemies wrote the law prohibiting petitioning to other gods except the king within thirty days. Unknowingly that the target is Daniel, the king signed the decree. Of course, Daniel did not get intimidated. It was his routine to pray three times daily with open windows witnessed by the peeping jealous enemies who jumped on him and brought him to the king for violation of the decree.

It is a different scenario for the indoctrinees. The indoctrinees had an open relationship with their families before they were invited to the Iglesia bible exposition. The moment the indoctrinees were lured to undergo indoctrination, secrecy begins to prevail. Then problems start in the family relationships. The indoctrinees start to disappear from their houses. The indoctrinees would not tell their families where they have gone. The indoctrinees' families become suspicious why the the secret indoctrinees are always missing in their houses. When family members begin to do detective work, they find out the secret indoctrinees goes out to date with certain Asian guys or gals. Confronted if the indoctrinees are gays, they get mad and angry. Confronted why he/she is going with the Asian guy/gal, indoctrinees say they are friends. Confronted where are they always heeding, indoctrinees tells a lie and would not tell he/she is undergoing indoctrination in the cult. After baptism, the new Iglesia convert begins to be missing the most part of Thursdays and Sundays. When family members follow where the new Iglesia member is always going, they find out he/she is attending the Iglesia forced worship service. And that's the start when the pots and pans and matteresses begin flying in the house of the new converts to the Iglesia ni Cristo. This is the conventional scenarios of those indoctrinees before and after becoming members of the Iglesia cult. From a happy family to troubled family and ending up to a broken family.

The Prophet Daniel's life is a far outcry from the lives of the indoctrinees. Daniel had been doing his routines and did not change a bit. Daniel was always at peace in his house or even in the den of the lions. How about the lives of the indoctrinees starting from the time of attending the iglesia bible exploitation session? The indoctrinees lives have changed tremendously. Their lives routines are upset. Now, they will have to provide time to escape to attend the bible indoctrination sessions. Always worrying that they might be caught with their secrets. Upon membership, the new members now has always toprepare at least three hours for the forced worships. Monies in the banks of the new members get also upset. Before, the monies in the banks are increasing. After memberships, they monies are dwindling. Before being members they have no heart palpitations and heart murmurs or anxieties. After memberships, they acquired these problems. Before memberships, their houses are clean and orderly. Q&A #13 - The indoctrinees will be made worthy of the kingdom if they endure hardships and persecutions of being Iglesia members? What sort of Scripture twisting is this? Let's read his Scriptural basis:

" "so that we ourselves boast of your among the churches of God, for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that you endure, which is manifest evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you also suffer." Manalo just picks up randomly on verses from the Scriptures. He sees the phrase, "worthy of the kingdom," he goes, "Oh oh, this is good for the indoctrinees so that they will not draw back." Wait a minute, is there a Church of Christ in that verse? Uh oh, forgot about the tools of Manalo. Previously, wht was written was "churches of God." After some few minutes, it becomes "Church of Christ." That was fantastic show of finger dexterity. Manalo is now saying, "You see, you see, it is Church of Christ!"

The Ones Who are Worthy of the Kingdom:

Who are these worthy individuals or who are these among the churches of God (or Church of Christ?) Let's read:

"when He comes in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who believe, because our testimony among you was believed. (2 Thes.1:10 NKJV)

These worthy individuals are not indoctriness. Neither are they Church of Christ members. They are believers of Jesus Christ and God who obey the gospel of Christ. Who are to be punished?

"in flaming fire taking vengiance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power." (2 Thes.1:8-9 NKJV)

Believers of Manalo will be punished. The one to be believed in order to be worthy of the kingdom is Jesus Christ. The gospel to obey in order to be worthy of the kingdom is the gospel of Jesus Christ.
