The "church" is the "body" of Christ (Eph. 1:22-23) and the "body" is.

"one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ" (1 Cor. 12:12).

This "one body" is comprised of all disciples of Christ (1 Cor. 12:27) who are all "baptized into one body by one spirit and have all been made to drink into one spirit" (1 Cor. 12:13).

Note that this first-century "body" or "church" of Christ was called "the Way" (Acts 23:14) - NOT Iglesia Ni Cristo and was NOT registered as an organization with any government entity. The first-century "church" or "body" of Christ did NOT render worship services to God in temples made by hand.

While all members of the first-century "church" or "body" of Christ are dead, they remain the "body" or "church" of Christ and it is to this "church" or "body" of Christ that living members are ADDED (Acts 2:41, 47) after hearing the word of truth and sealed by the holy spirit of promise (Eph. 1:12-13).

This first-century "church" or "body" of Christ is the "kingdom of God's son into which God "translates those God delivers from the power of drkness and has qualified to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints of the light" (Col. 1:13, 12).

The doctrines that the first-century "church" of Christ believed in and taught are found in the New Testament.

Hence, any church today which presents itself as the "true" church of Christ must NOT add to NOR subtract from what is written (Rev. 22:18-19) and its preachers must NOT think beyond what is written (1 Cor. 6:4).
