definite articles, where the Greek text had no definite articles. In Greek the absence of a definite article means the noun is indefinite, as ancient Greek had no indefinite article.
So 2 Cor. 6:2 should have been translated: "For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in a day of salvation have I succoured thee; behold, now is an accepted time; behold, now is a day of salvation".
So when Heb. 9:27 says "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment", it should be understood that after people die, and then after Jesus comes and we are resurrected, then will be a time of judgment, lasting one thousand years, during which time there will be another time of salvation, when many will become saved, who had died unsaved. As Isaiah and Micah prophesied, this will be a time of judgment, when Mt. Zion will be the highest mountain, and many will come to that mountain and God will teach them there his ways. See Is. 2:2-4 and Micah 4:1-3. This is such an important prophecy, that God inspired two prophets to write basically the same thing, the same prophecy.
It will be a wonderful time. So like many Christians, if you have relatives who died unsaved, you don't need to lose hope, you can pray for them, they will be resurrected some day, when Jesus comes, and if they come to believe God and repent of their sins, and come to love God and his Son, they too will become saved. So it is likely that some of your relatives who died unsaved will become saved. That is wonderful news. But most Christians are not aware of it. They might not be aware that God is not unfair, he will provide another time of salvation. So all who died unsaved will have another chance, unless they were so evil that they blasphemed the Holy Spirit, in which case Jesus said they will not be forgiven in this time or in the time to come, meaning after they are resurrected. Like the Jews who claimed that Jesus does his miracles by the power of Beelzebub, the prince of demons. Of course the Holy Spirit is not Beelzebub, so they blasphemed the Holy Spirit. So others can be forgiven in the time to come, if they died unsaved.
