You misunderstand that verse, Eccl. 12:7.

Of course it says the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. That is true of all who die. But it does not say the spirit will be alive. The author of the same book, Solomon, made that abundantly clear, when he wrote in Eccl. 9:5 "For the living know that they shall die, but the dead know not any thing...". So when the saved died, whether David, or Isaiah, or Peter, or Mary, etc., or when the unsaved died, whether Judas Iscariot or Korah, etc., their spirit returned to God who gave it, but they did not know anything. None of them are in heaven. Jesus himself said in John 3:13 "And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven". So INC is wrong to think that Elijah and Enoch are in heaven. No one is there of people except Christ. Their spirits returned to God when they died, but not to heaven. And their spirits are dead, see Eccl. 9:5,10 and other verses. They know nothing, no wonder some verses call death a sleep.
That is the doctrine of God, I believe.
