      Hi, Folks!

      DV to Mpeg2, software only??

      Got curious and tested Mainconcept PVR, Intervideo Wincoder 1.8, Intervideo WinDVD creator 2.0 and Cyberlink PowerEncoder MPEG4 AVC Edition.

      Testbench: MSI board with VIA chipset but Intel 2.8GHz HT cpu. AC97 WDM audio.

      Mainconcept: Poor audio-quality and lockup
      Wincoder: Didn't even start
      WinDVD creator: Poor audio
      Powerencoder: THE WINNER - no problems. DV straightaway to Mpeg2.
