      thanks Henry, I like the sound of your method! Look forward to trying it out as soon as I finish todays encoding run.

      I have to agree with Ross, MSP6.0's timeline playback option is flaky at best. Even with the latest patches the only way I can get flawless playback from the timeline is to make sure the timeline is zoomed so the whole project fits on one screen and to avoid using any fades between clips. Butt joins are fine, wipes or fades give me problems. The glitch only lasts a fraction of a second but it annoys me at least.

      Whilst I can see the advantage of doing the encoding direct from type 1's without the recapturing I'm doing, am I the only one that likes to keep a master copy of my project on tape? A 43 minute project around 8Gig in size. I'd much rather have this on tape for the future, instead of only having a SVCD MPEG2 file of 770mb.
