The drivers for the Radeon AIW cards do not support VFW capture. This is one reason I haven't gone any higher than my AIW 128. Here's a cut and paste from the ATI website:

RADEON
Video for Windows capture support has never been offered for RADEON products.

Read the archive news on virtualdub.org......

... there's a section entitled '8/3/2001: ATI...' explaining how to capture from AIW Radeon in VirtualDub under Win2k.

Also, the WDM-VfW wrapper files - http://shopgeo.virtualave.net/wrapper.zip - might be useful (mentioned in this article - http://www.vcdhelp.com/reviews/atiaiwradeon/aiwradeon.htm )

Assuming the ATI driver setup is basically the same for the Radeon as my AIW128Pro under Win2k (with the latest 'XP compatible' WDM only capture drivers), 'Microsoft WDM Image Capture (Win32)' is what I get on the bottom of the 'Video' menu in VirtualDub - select this first.

Then select 'Source' from the menu and you should get a dialog box with 'select a video device' in it - 'ATI Rage Theater Video Capture' should be one of the selections - select this.

I used to have win98se and when trying to use the mapper, I found that I had to run the ati tv progam once first before running virtualdub. for some reason this seemed to activate the wrapper.
