SVCD playback all blocky then crashing

I only recently got a SVCD to play on my computer by installing Elecard player and the appropriate updates to it. However, when the SVCD plays, the image is completely undiscernable, the audio is glitchy, and after 5-30 sec the program simply crashes.

I have tried using multiple different players, WMP, WinDVD, Elecard... all of them experience the same problem.

I'm running Win XP Professional and this problem has been occurring with ALL of the SVCD's I have on my comp.

Any ideas?

Okay, install WinDVD 4.0, it will play your SVCD's perfectly. No problems at all.

Try running Elecard in Windows 98 compatibility mode and see if that helps.
