I have movies in avi format (DIVXMPG4 V3)which doesnt play on DVD. How can i convert the cd so that they will play - is there any software available to do this?? (I have a universal DVD player).

well, as I've been told, the Manufactorers of DVD Players, are working on it, the make the Player MPEG4 compatible. Yet those Machines aren't.
Only MPEG1 and MPEG2 is playable on a Standalone DVD Player.

So you have to convert your AVI-Files to VCD (MPEG1) or SCVD (MPEG2).

You can buy the Kiss DP 450 DVD player.
It can play DivX and MPEG-4 movies.

Well, you can buy it if you live in Germany. Every article I found about it on the Internet was in German, a language I do not speak, so it's not real helpful to those of us who live in the USA. There are some good guides to converting DivX to other formats at:

Ok, I feel incompetent ... downloaded tmpge and unziped everything - have 2 bat files (install and uninstall) Don't see the exe files ...are these the bat files? Can't execute the bat files ... do they need to be loaded into some directory?
