HELP! re- PowerVCR and svcd resolution profile

Hi all,

I need anyone to tell me how I can alter the registry settings for PowerVcr 3.00.

I want to capture Mpeg2 at scvd resolution -
PAL 480 x 576

It allows me to capture at vcd resolution and what it calls Dvd resolution (720 x 576) Mpeg2 in RealTime.
No prblems - but I want to capture at 480 x 576 and there is nothing in the programs profiles that allows for the svcd size.

I am sure it could be tweaked in the registry to allow me to make a profile using svcd size (480 x 576) but I am not quite sure how to do it. I have tried messing with various "default" files in the program directory but the changes I made did NOT show up in the program when I used it.

PLZ can anyone solve this lack of support from Cyberlinks for SVCD - which rocks!

Best,

dave

How to modify PowerVCR II profiles.

April 14 2003, 3:02 AM

1) Close PowerVCR II
2) Edit Default.prf file and add this for PAL, save & exit:

&
<Class>=Advance Profiles
<Name>=SVCD PAL
<Description>=SVCD PAL
<OutputType>=2
<VBitRate>=2600000
<VQualityLevel>=0
<VPictureSize>=1
<VPictureRate>=25.00
<VBPicture>=2
<VPPicture>=5
<VPicturePattern>=IBBPBBPBBPBBPBBP
<VPreProcessing>=0
<VResize>=1
<ALayer>=2
<AMode>=1
<ABitRate>=224
<SpeedQualityIndicator>=2
<VideoWidth>=480
<VideoHeight>=576

3) Use regedit and delete HKCU\SOftware\Cyberlink\PowerVCR II\Record Profile

4) Start PowerVCR II who rereads the default.prf when there is no profiles in the registry, now you have your SVCD profile.
