I'M WONDERING IF I CAN BURN DVD TO VCD WITH MY REGULAR CDR BURNER. IS THERE A GOOD PROGRAM TO DO IT?

every CD-Writer can Burn VCD's and SVCD's, but you have to rip the Data from your DVD and convert into the complient Format, first.

Free? Easy ?? Please let us know how you make out. Although I'm not into DVD ripping I'm curious to know.

Looks to me like a very involved multi-step process. And of course you'll have to buy (or steal) the CinemaCraft and TMPGenc programs as well.

Frankly, I still don't understand why anyone would spend time and money to duplicate a DVD when you can buy it for 15 to 20 bucks? (or less if you shop wisely)

Poeple Make VCD/SVCD"s of a DVD rip probably because a Couple of 30Cent CD-R"s is still a lot Cheaper than $15-$25..And it is Fun and Cool to watch your own creation.....
